+ Anima

Postby AngelSakura » Tue May 11, 2004 5:42 pm

I found something cool. Since I don't have much money personally (I forget to do my chores... ), I usually go for manga, scantilations or bookstore. I found a manga at www.toriyamaworld.com called + Anima. I've read the first volume and it seems good and clean. Cute art, too! Barely any blood, very mild language (b*****d, s**t [only once]).
It's about humans who, for one reason or another, Have attributes of animals. Wings, ears, hands, claws....
Anyway, very good. Maybe we can start a club! ;)

EDIT: Here are some pics.

I have all the volumes of + Anima from TW. Not bad at all. Nice series to read in between FMA and hunter x hunter.

I've read like half of the first chapter. It looks interesing at least. I'll probably read more once I get farther in HxH.

This is manga we're talking about. It's suppose to be weird. If it weren't, everyone would like it. ;)
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

eheh... but that's the thing, a lot of manga out there are really good and not that strange.... it's just that people have stereotypes stuck in their head and won't give manga a chance.

I love this one. I really like "Husky". He is so tough, and this is the first time I see a mer- umm, man? merman? a male mermaid. (I think i found an idea finally for an avatar. ^-^) Cooro is very funny too. I feel so bad for husky though... He had to dress up as a girl mermaid in front of all those people just for money. It kind of reminds me when Yuki Sohma had to dress up in a dress in Fruits Basket. I feel so awkward for them!~
