Harusame: Spring Rain, the first chapter, will be finished hopefully soon.
It's set around Maine, in a vast wilderness.
It's sort-of-kind-of a Christian manga in that there's a wolf, Barak, who is appointed by God to guard one of the last forests in the world. The main character, Karou (half wolf, half human), is a Christian who worries about Gentyn, a Buddhist character, and witnesses to him often (not telling what happens...spoilers widely avoided).
Barak, a big, silver, really cool wolf is poisoned by a foreign mushroom introduced from another country to North America. Barak is dying and Karou, his adopted son, is horrified. Although he has bad experiences in towns, Karou goes down into a nearby village to visit a veterinarian, trying to learn about what's made his best friend sick. He discovers that the wolf has a disease that can only be cured by a special herb that grows farther up North.
After saying maybe his last good-bye to Barak, Karou sets off to find the herb before it is too late to save his "father."
When it's done I'll post it here. Constructive critisism is welcome. Anybody have any opinions/changes that I might make to my manga? All questions will be answered.
