Agreed. This is an incredible show.

They could have had Ishihara and Sasake taken care of in one fell swoop. No drama with getting stabbed, no having to deal with Sasake trying to become mayor and getting Anchan killed, none of it.

Do You think that the police of that time and place would take the word of reformatory inmates over that of a warden and a doctor/budding politician?
Pretty hilarious, that.

So, I caught up with
Cross Game this week. I have never seen anything like this show in terms of how subtly and really it communicates its characters feelings. Especially for the genres (slice-of-life, shounen sports, romance) this is quite refreshing. Maybe it is a mistake to throw out genre-terms when talking about this show. Not to be hyperbolic, but I think the series kind of trascends them...it's certainly the best example of each that I've seen (though I'm by no means an expert in most of those genres). Of the 30 episodes so far, there hasn't been a bad or off one, unless you count the recap episode (which isn't poor in terms of quality...you've just seen the footage before). This is one of those shows that the one episode test is perfect for. If you're not into it after one, then you probably should get out...though, really, I'd love to meet someone who didn't like the first episode. Watchy the show on Hulu or VizAnime.
