Zack Snyder will be directing Superman!

Postby Roy Mustang » Wed Oct 06, 2010 11:06 am

Blastr wrote:Zack Snyder beat out at least five other directors who were reportedly in the running to reboot Superman—including Deja Vu's Tony Scott and Moon's Duncan Jones —and has been chosen by Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures to direct the newest installment in the Man of Steel's big-screen franchise.

Snyder, who directed Watchmen and 300 and is nearing completion on Sucker Punch, confirmed the news to Deadline by saying:

"I've been a big fan of the character for a long time, he's definitely the king of all superheroes, he's the one. It's early yet, but I can tell you that what David and Chris have done with the story so far definitely has given me a great insight into a way to make him feel modern. I've always felt he was kind of awesome. I'll finish Sucker Punch and get right at it."

So what do you think? Do you feel Warner Brothers made the right choice?

Snyder might do a good job. At least the series is getting a reboot. It needs to get away from the spirit of the previous Superman series.

ccording to geektyrant:

David Goyer wrote the script for the film and it's rumored to have a connection to the Richard Donner Superman films as well. That connection is the villain ... General Zod.

At the very least, this movie will look cool. I can only hope that some of Nolan's ability to display the psychological aspects of characters rubs off onto Snyder.

If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things."

Why Zog again? If they're trying to move away from what Singer did, this is a doing quite the opposite. Aren't there enough Superman villains to choose from?

I agree with that 100%. Zod is old hat. I want someone else, please.

Heck, why not use The Parasite. Now, there's a great Superman villain. The animated version did wonders with him. They even made him a great anti-villain.

Hey, if they did Luthor they could give him lots of eyeliner and ridiculous numbers of piercings.

Who says it won't be? I kind of assumed you get Lex Luthor with Superman - he was in Superman II along with Zog...

Saying "I hope Lex Luthor isn't in the new Superman movie!" is kind of like saying "I hope Superman won't wear a red and blue outfit with a cape!" or "I hope Superman can't fly and doesn't have super strength!"

Because you don't like the idea of a struggle between two heated rivals who will always try to thwart the other's schemes?

Guess you don't like Gundam either, I mean, Char vs. Amuro got SO OLD, why couldn't someone OTHER than Char be Amuro's rival once in a while? ;P
