The World God Only Knows is about a guy who is known as the god of h-games on the internets. Hilarity ensues when a devil approaches him, based on his reputation, to make real girls fall in love with him to get spirits that are hiding in their hearts out of them or something.

This anime sounds good. xD

Also hope that the fantasy chart was real too. I would have loved to have seen an anime adaptation of Persona 4 and Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney. MM! looks rather odd but may fulfill my moe desire along with Tantei Opera Milky Way Holmes. :jump:

It's easy to forget with all the talk about heart, nice characters, hugging and things ending well in subplots, but they do live in a world where the small area that is inhabitable is infested with soul eating bugs only specially trained people can kill them by sacrificing a chunk of their soul and the government enforced caste system and the terrorists and, well, it's a pretty big dystopia when you stop to think about it.

Not to mention the evil people that kidnapped Lag's mom, least we forget. That being said, yes the second season will be darker with good reason. The harder the struggle, the more rewarding it will be when you overcome it. And stuff. >_>

Anyways, yay, official chart! \o.o/

I echo my previous choices and add Hetalia: 4 to the mix. And I am a bit more curious about Tantei Opera Milky Holmes. Not sure if I can get over that odd name, but at least it's not as strange as Panty and Stocking (which actually does look like an interesting show). O.o

Also, You Are Delicious looks very weird.

I'll be waiting on that one... if it's a filler-fest like the first season then I won't be following it again.

Sounds like a lot of new interesting anime.
But to be honest, it's not the 3rd season of Saiunkoku.
Nor 2nd Season of Ouran High School Host Club, or La Corda D'Oro.

Those are some shows I have been waitinggg for to have more seasons.
I realize that it's not really probable that any of those shows will get new seasons. But. I reallyreally wish they would!

I also would like to see dubs for:
Clannad After Story
Saiunkoku Monogatari Season 2
La Corda D'Oro
Hanasakeru Seishonen

Inexplicable nudity.

Meh. I think Shin Getter Robo will do a much better job at filling my post-TTGL mecha slot.

Well done. Only The Wise among us choose Go Nagai.

Don't forget about Geneon's gift to us of New Getter Robo in addition to Shin.

Meh.
My thoughts exactly. Though the mahou shoujo-esque transformation scene made me laugh pretty hard.

But, yeah...definitely not watching this one.

I'm actually going back to a show I liked when I was a kid- Megas XLR. It's like the American version of TTGL, if you can believe it! And it's total awesome sauce.

No, blkmage, they're right. You should always judge books by their cover, don't you see? Whenever you look at something, you should never look deeper into it! Always base your opinions solely on appearance! Substance means nothing! If it doesn't look good it's crap!

Why are you confused? He said specifically "inexplicable nudity." Not just nudity.

See, the nudity in Go Nagai's Cutey Honey, Kekko Kamen, Kyukioku no Sex Adventure Kamasutra, and Iron Virgin Jun is totally explicable. I mean, it's all totally necessary and relevant to the story. But the nudity in Star Drivers? I mean, a girl taking her clothes off to perform a ritual is stupid. But a girl stripping her clothes off to put on a mask and fight crime while naked, TOTALLY SENSIBLE.

Go Nagai created Getter Robo and all of its subsequent iterations (Shin Getter Robo, Neo Getter Robo, Shin Getter Robo vs Neo Getter Robo, etc.) I was just supporting his decision to watch Getter Robo b/c it's a good show. My comments have nothing to do w/ not watching Star Driver (I will be watching it) or the nudity content of any show mentioned. Not insinuating he is wise b/c SD has nudity while GR doesn't (I am unaware of the nudity content in either show), just saying that he is choosing to watch a good show.

I think the biggest thing we're ignoring here is that Shin Getter Robo isn't Go Nagai's work. It was based on the universe he created, but he ain't responsible for it. It'd be like calling Pluto an Osamu Tezuka work.

EDIT: Also yeah it was ich that was talking about the inexplicable nudity, not Doc. Just thought I'd say I got kinda caught up in the whole thing so yeah. Wasn't really thinking. Not that this is uncommon for me or anything.

Yes it is very sensible. Everyone knows clothes just make you more vulnerable, so the less clothes, the more protection and more POWAR

Actually, it is the trailer we are talking about. You know, the thing that the distributors show in order to try to summarize the essence of the series and get people excited about watching it. At the very least, it is like judging a book by reading the intro on the inside jacket flaps. While that doesn't tell you for certain whether it is worth reading or not, it does tell you a something.

If you found a book that looked cool and read the jacket and it said that it was a "book about a quiet girl who falls in love with a super-hot vampire who for some reason wants to be her boyfriend and they spend the rest of the series going on dates and him saving her from bad guys and admiring the smoldering fires of passion in each other's eyes" then you probably have a good idea about whether you want to read it or not, yes? Trailers approximate the same function.

Except that trailers usually only focus on parts that they want to show people to get them interested.

The trailers for the Transformers movie looked awesome. Because they didn't have Shia LeBouf in them talking non-stop for five minutes straight and then his mom asking him about "Sam's happy time."

The trailers for Inception didn't tell a freaking thing about the plot, only showed off weird world-warping physics that made people go "What the heck is this movie about?"

The trailers for Fight Club made it look like something completely different from what it turned out to be.

Then there's those "misleading trailers" thing on Youtube where they make The Shining look like a lighthearted comedy or Mary Poppins look like a horror movie.

Yeah, although trailers can give you a glimpse of the series, they usually contain no information about plot, characters, or anything, they're just to show you pretty pictures and get you interested. It's still exactly like judging a book by its cover.

I repeat: I am not saying the trailer is totally accurate, just that is supposed to give you a feel for the show. If the people making the trailer make a misleading one, then they end up with angry viewers, which is not good for sales. They want to make it appealing, yes, but they also want to highlight the essence of the series. Youtube people don't have this restriction so they are irrelevant.

Just because a couple of people messed up their trailers doesn't mean they are totally invalid for use in judging a series.

Also, no it is not like judging a book by its cover. That would be like saying that this:

Image

Tells you the exact same thing as this.

And I really need to stop using Twilight as an example. It is making me twitch.

Actually I really just took offense at the misuse of the word "inexplicable" since having nudity in a show is not automatically inexplicable or even fanservice. Otherwise My Neighbor Totoro has inexplicable nudity.

Moving on:

I will now report that I will NOT be watching Hyakko Ryoran Samurai Girls... as I feared it is basically nothing but fanservice.

Fair enough. I may have judged the nudity as inexplicable before I was qualified to do so. However:

in·ex·pli·ca·ble (n-kspl-k-bl, nk-splk-bl) adj.
Difficult or impossible to explain or account for.

My use of the word in this context was still correct. Unless, of course, you can explain to me without difficulty--using the trailer--why the girl was, with apparent randomness, taking off her clothing. Since you have already argued that trailers essentially tell you nothing about the show, I doubt you will.

Is there more pedantry that needs addressing, or are we done with justifying my every statement to your satisfaction? Because I would really prefer to be done now.
