You should check out Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog. They're two bands Chris Cornell was in before Audioslave. In fact, Temple of the Dog can be considered just Pearl Jam with a special guest appearance by Chris Cornell. (Pearl Jam hadn't formed yet. The other members were in a band called Mother Lovebone, but their lead singer OD'd. So, really Pearl Jam is Mother Lovebone with a new lead singer.)
Anyway....
1. Ever watch Star Trek? If so, which version?
2. Most thought provoking book not written for or by a Christian?
3. If Artemis Fowl ever crossed paths with Batman, who would your money be on?

oooh! Nice! I totally will sheck those out! XD

1. OOOOH YEAH! My mom and I used to watch Star Trek: TNG together when I was little- I also watched a lot of Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: DS9 (the latter of which I wished I could see more of, but was usually on reruns when I was at school :sniffle: )
2. Lots. Most of the thought-provoking books, I read, actually. But the most thought-provoking one? Brave New World by Aldous Huxley.
3. .....
..... Nooo! I don't know! I would suppose Arty, since he'd be able to outsmart Batman before Batman ever laid a finger on him.....But it's truly a hard call!

1. Ever watched any James Bond movies? If so, which Bond do you like best?
2. Would you like me to recommend you some other bands to try?
3. Ever read anything by Robert A. Heinlein?
4. Who's your favorite Star Trek character?

Where you ever so obsessive with something that people thought you were crazy?

If Tsubasa Chronicles and Artemis Fowl ever crossed paths in a fanfiction (and it just so happened to be written by your favorite fanfiction author or whatever), what would you do?

Would it be okay if I said THANK YOU for contributing to my decision to reading Artemis Fowl? 8D!

How are you today?

Have you seen/loathed the Last Airbender movie?

If YOU were the one directing that movie, would you do things differently? What actors/actresses would you hire? Would you make slight alterations to the original plot?

1. Obsessive with something..... Well... :red: Maybe Legolas from LOTR movies. I had a total crush. But my best friend was just as bad! XD

2. I would weep. I don't think they should mix, ever. They're good, but I'm not fond of crossovers in the first place, and ones like Arty Fowl and Tsubasa should never be crossed!

2. I'm assuming that means you like it! XD YAY! Another Arty Fowl convert!

3. Tired, yet exhilarated. I found my classes, met some new people, had a free lunch because of one of the student organizations, AND got Comcast to waive the $150 installation fee for the wireless router I need! I'm also quite sunburned, come to think of it.....

4. No, I haven't seen the new Airbender movie! I sort-of want to see how they ruined it, but I don't want to support the people who ruined it. If I could change things, I'd make the actors racially correct, forget about the 3D, and legnthen the movie to LOTR legnth.

1. Yes! I saw Quantum of Solace and.... another one. I think that I don't like Bond in any of his forms  I just thought they were all rather unattractive. (I know, superficial, but I dislike Bond as a character, so I have to have something nice to say about him!)
2. YES PLEASE! I love hearing new music and new bands!
3. Starship Troopers! That was a pretty good book.
4. Ooooh.... I love WARF! Warf is Great and Amazing and Funny, and I just love him to pieces!!!! Though Data comes a close second, and Number Two (post-beard) is also an awesome charrie. Tying with Q, that loveable rascal!

1. Another crossover: Harry Potter vs. Artemis Fowl
2. Worst movie you ever watched?
3. Ever watch Power Rangers?

1. You hate me, don't you? XD Aw, man! I would have to say Arty- after all, he managed to outwit the LEP! However, if you pitted against Hermione, I would say that it would be a tie.
2. Uuuuuhhhhh.... Do TV movies count? lol, well I saw the film adaptation of Left Behind. I didn't like the book, but the movie was terrible! Although The Night Listener was also terrible, as well as The Pink Panther remake movie.
3. YES! I LOVED the Power Rangers when I was younger! My favorite was the Pink Ranger, but I also had a huge crush on the White Ranger! I even had a Power Rangers sled! It was great! I would rent the tapes of the tv series from the local video store and play them over and over, too- drove my dad nuts since the tv with the tape player was upstairs, and that was 'his' tv!

1. I have so many! XD I love Buzz and Woody, and Belle is awesome! I think they're my top ones.
2. Any hard-rock or rap. I'm just not into it.
3. I wish! But everyone in my family is allergic, and the apt. I'm in now doesn't allow pets. But when I can, I want to get a big, furry dog- I'm particularly fond of Newfoundlands- they're big and furry and so sweet!

Really?.... Are you serious? *looks it up* Dear goodness, you're right! That's awesome! I actually modeled it as a name off one of my favorite characters in a movie, so finding that out is great!! XD

1. Only two of his movies- Life of Brian and The Holy Grail. While I enjoyed them, it's not necessarily my type of humor. I'm a bigger Mel Brooks fan.
2. Gonzo and Rizzo the Rat! (though Fonzie is also very dear to me). They're such a great duo- very funny, great comedic chemistry!
3. ....I saw Blues Brothers 2000? I've never seen the original, but I should- when they were filming in Indiana, my grandpa got pictures right with them!

1. Yeah! I watched that when I was a kid, with my mom. I've only watched a few episodes, though, but they were pretty good!
2. .....Well, I'm sort of a fan of Catherine of Argon, one of King Henry's wives. I think it would be interesting to talk with her.
3. The original Super Mario game! That's awesome! I've never saved the princess, though....I've also played Duck Hunt.

Have you ever watched a stereotype-breaker anime (or read a stereotype breaker manga) that you loved to death?
If so, which genre was it? How was it a stereotype breaker?

What's your favorite anime/manga of each genre....

Shojo?

Shonen?

Josei?

Seinen?

Moe?

Mecha?

Slice-of-Life?

Otaku-themed/parody?

Comedy?

Romance?

Action?

Sci-fi?

[insert name of an obscure manga/anime title that you love but almost embarressed to say you do!.....you don't hafta' do this one if you don't want to. lol XD!]

3. In the inevitable Artemis Fowl movie, who do you think should play which character?

Shojo?
Just so you know, I love this question. Multiple gnres make me happy. As far as shoujo... manga: Gakuen Alice. Hard call, but I own all of the manga that's been released so far, and it's just SO ADORABLE!
Anime: Card Captor Sakura. By far. Cuteness wins big points from me XD
Shonen?
Anime: Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. ...Okay, it's not technically shounen- however, after going through my list I realized I have approx. 2 shounen on my list out of the ~150 I have watched. Since this is more of a shounen than what I ususally watch, this is it.
Manga: FMA! FMA! Go Ed! Go Al!
Josei?

Anime: Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. A vasly underrated show that deserves far more love than it gets. I cried the entire last two episodes! Yes, the main character can be obnoxious, but she's in jr. high! And she gets better.
Manga: NANA. I laugh, I cry (a lot...and then some more). It reminds me about my friends, and how they are.
Seinen?
AH! My favorite genre- what every other thing on my list is >.>"
Anime: Baccano! Action, mystery, crazy characters, you just can't beat it.
Manga: Another tough call. I would have to say Liar Game. Crazy-awesome deduction skills and interesting characters abound!
Moe?
This is generally a genre I do not do. But for anime, I like Bamboo Blade (I really don't know if that counts, but it should!).
Manga: Bamboo Blade again. Only one I have on it!
Mecha?
Anime: Macross Frontier. I don't care for mecha most of the time, but this focuses on the personal relationships rather than the big ships, so it easily tops my list.
Manga: None.... unless Planetes counts. And I don't think it does- in which case I don't read mecha manga.
Slice-of-Life?
Anime: ARIA. Ooooh yeah! Sweet, relaxing, and wonderful.
Manga: Bunny Drop. Too cute and sweet for words!
Otaku-themed/parody?
Anime: Ermmm..... Comic Party. Out of the two I've seen (this and Lucky Star), I prefer this one.
Manga: Bakuman. Not a parody, not even particulary otaku-themed. But it's awesome nonetheless!
Comedy?
Anime: Lovely Complex. Funny and romantic!
manga: Yotsuba&. This is the only one that's ever gotten me in stitches! I have had to stop and laugh as I read it, because it's just too good!
Romance?
Anime: Ouran Host Club.
Manga: Delicous Relationship. Very nice, a budding romance between someone who loves food and a cook!
Action?
Anime: Kara no Kyoukai. Lots of action, packed into a mystery anime. Fantastic!
Manga: 1/2 Prince. This manages to balance romcom with action- and it's great for both!
Sci-fi?
Anime: Summer Wars. It's just.... awesome!
Manga: Terra e../20th Century Boys. Tie here. Terra e... made me feel and was incredibly well-developed story, while 20th Century Boys was one big awesome, comlpex adventure.
[insert name of an obscure manga/anime title that you love but almost embarressed to say you do!.....
Seizon -Life-, about a man who must find his daughter's killer before his own time runs out, as he was diagnosed with the same terminal cancer that killed his wife years before.

1. Robert Frost, Shel Silverstein. So gooood!
2. Oh yea! No favorite composers, though- I like pretty much everything!
3. None. I think the Arty Fowl movie should never happen. But even if it did, unfortunately, I don't think there are any child actors (that I know of) that would portray Arty like I imagine.

2. Do you play Monopoly? If so, which piece do you use most often?
3. Favorite Harry Potter character?
4. Which Gryffindor school do you think you'd be a member of?

Yeah- lots of these have more than one genre  It was hard choosing which one would go into each category (since MF would also fit in action, as would Baccano!, etc.)

1. Foghorn Leghorn. Usually not most people's first picks, but I've always had a fondness for him and his little nerdy sidekick.
2. Nope, I've never played!
3. I really like Hermione. She's my favorite ever! (Though for villians, I like Draco)
4. Ravenclaw. For sure. I'd rather be in Gryffendor, but I'd be in Ravenclaw.

1. Which Warrior Cats clan would you join?
2. Favorite Warrior Cat (alive or dead, doesn't matter)
3. Favorite classic movie (let's make the 70's your cut-off date so I don't feel old)?
4. Do you like Studio Ghibli? Got a favorite movie?
5. Favorite Satoshi Kon movie?

Yeah, I guess I would be....
1 and 2- what's a Warrior Cat?
3. Stalag 17. I think that's my oldest favorite, but I've seen quite a few pre-70's thanks to my mom, who loves movies from her childhood
4. YES I LOVE STUDIO GHIBLI! XD WHo doesn't? Spirited Away is my favorite movie from them, though I haven't seen as many of thier movies as I'd like
5. Gah! I'd have to say Paprika. I love her others, but Paprika just blows be away. Now, if you'd have said Satoshi Kon work, I would say Paranoia Agent.

2. What creature from mythology would you want for a pet?

I have never heard of the Warriors books! XD I'm a big fan of The Guardians of Ga'Hoole, though! I'll check the Warriors books out, though.
1. Orlando Bloom- I had/have the biggest crush on him!
2. Dragons! So cool- they fly and breathe fire, and I don't know what else I could ask for XD
3. Yep! I'm majoring in Biology- conservational biology, to be exact. I imagine that I'll be cleaning up toxic waste sites after I graduate, but that's cool- I want to do things like protecting national forests and rainforests, and save endangered species.

1. Hard one! I personally like both Mary of Magdeline, and Mary, Jesus' mom. I like reading about the women of the Bible, but I think they both get a short shrift when it comes to stories about their lives and interactions with Jesus. I mean, the extent that we know about Mary is that she gave birth to Jesus and then had to watch him die. But what about the in-between? Did she worry about her son? Know what he was doing? Support him? Did they have philisophical/religious debate over things? And Mary, as important as she was, is virtually never mentioned, even though what is said shows that she was a pretty darned important figure. Why? What were her interactions like with Jesus? How did she get to that low point of prostitution? What was it like traveling and living with Jesus and his disciples?
2. Sort-of. The trumpet and piano. But I'm very bad with both of them- I may have the ability to tell perfect pitch and rhythm, but I was never otherwise musically gifted.
3. Horse. Dog. Bears. Polar bears, specifically, but I also like grizzlies. And koalas, too.
4. Yes >.>" What a waste of my time!
5. LOL! Well, I haven't read the Bible all the way through, so... I think the three LOTR books put together are longer than the Bible.... but for longest single book, it has to be the last HP book. That one was longer than the 4th, right? Well, whichever one of the HP books was the longest.

Actually, we Catholics consider Mary a model of the faith because of her unquestioning acceptance of her role as Jesus's mother.

Well, that just means that she was unquestioning in having him- doesn't mean she didn't worry about him! After all, I imagine that as a kid he might have gotten sick a few times, or almost fell in a well, or scraped his knee.... but no one knows because the Bible doesn't record his youth. And she must certainly have worried about him when he was older and went out preaching- she would have known what the penaty of it was! And what mom wants to see their kid die?

1. Batman. I love Batman!
2. Oh yes. I have read a few stories by Isaac Asimov- the one I remember the best is Positronic Man. But all his robots stories were very similar in content.
3. All of them? XD But I'd have to say.... I don't know. I think I blocked it out of my mind!

1. The Scarlet Letter. I was crying like a baby by the end of it! THough it ties with Green Mile. That was also an amazing book.
2. Erm.... too many to count? Naw, A.I. Artificial Intelligence has touched me in a way few movies ever will, I think. I haven't yet seen Schindler's List, though!
3. Definitely too many to count. But at the moment, "Das Alles Ändert Nichts Daran" really gets me. Every time. AMV link: (clean AMV, so no worries there!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fRIobEz3MA
