Fave computer games? Ummm.... Okay, it's a tie. I like both Fallout 3 and the Nancy Drew mystery series games. They're just so good.... and hard! Second place goes to the original jump-start games. I mean, before they dumbed them down, the original JumpStart 4th Grade seriously took me until I was in High School to figure out all the puzzles to win it!

LOL ;) Yes, a bit, but mostly from my Greek and Hebrew Lexicon. LOL So I am guessing you know what my username means???

Yes, I am told I look like Toby Mac or a local weatherman, when I am cleanshaven. LOL

My favorite after-school cartoon was Batman, the animated series! I still have fond memories of that one!

If I could have any talent, it would be to read music and know music theory so as to be able to compose whats in my head.

Oh! Peanuts was good too! :D
My favorite Disney character would have to be Wall-E, because he loves so purely and devotedly!

and my fav cartoon would be anything from Pixar... does CGI count as a cartoon? If not then probably Cinderella.

And your favorite Disney cartoon/character?

ha! ha! Pixar rocks! :D My fav would have to be Wall-E or UP... but I haven't seen Toy Story 3 yet (I am going to see it with my bride this Monday!!!)
The strangest book on my shelf would depend on what you would think of as strange... forinstance, you might find it strange that my shelf is dominated by Classic Lit, of which you might find such works as The Scarlett Pimpernel or Le Mort de Arthur strange... else you might find my histories on the Civil War strange such as John Hunt Morgan's Raid of the Civil War. Meybe you would find it peculiar that I have Poetry thereon or else my Theology works such as the Institutes of the Christian Religion... but strangest of all you would probably find either Jane Austen's complete works or the Complete Atlas of the Civil War, or... uhm... :) (one day you will find Webster's 1812 Dictionary and an extensive Baby name book - essential pieces for any writer!) Did that answer your question?
My favorite children's book was Skuppers the Sailor Dog from Little Golden books.

And what would be the strangest book on your shelf?

Alright, I am very sorry I have been so slow here on CAA, but I thought this would be the best thread to really update everyone... I am not sure who would really care, but if you do... LOL ^_^ I have been amiss because the wedding has been moved to a closer date. I am now getting married to my beloved this April!!! :D :D :D We are so excited! So I have been distracted because we have been making wedding plans and preparing for all that. Really, my mind is rather detained in that. But every spare moment or so, I'll get back to following One Piece, meybe Death Note, and I'm looking forward to Darker Than Black II!!! :D :D However, first and foremost comes my fiancé! So please forgive my distraction but she, next only to my beloved Sovereign Christ Jesus, is most important to me! :D :D :D I love her and to her all my attention will be given! ^_^ Anyway, I didn't want my new friends on CAA to feel slighted or that I was ignoring them. I'm not. Y'all are great! I'm just very distracted. :)

Right, back on track, my favorite Christian band? I really don't have one anymore since I have given up rap music, I now mostly listen to Classical, movie scores, celtic, and dance music from the 40s and 50s. But when I did listen to such, my favorite group was Clique 116, a group of several individual Christian, reformed rappers from the cities. But I don't listen to rap anymore or CCM.
And then what was your favorite Christian band rl?

K. Ayato (post: 1406045) wrote:Have you seen Firefly?

Yes, I have seen Firefly as well as Serenity. Amazing story and brilliant idea. I especially liked that it was just humans in space... no aliens. LOL But I am guessing your asking because it was a good movie in your opinion? Although, to watch it, I would definitely say it would need to be cleaned up through some filter like TV guardian or Clear Play. Without the adult stuff, it would have been rocking awesome!!!
uh... favorite breed of dog? uh... LOL I dunno, I'm not a dog person. LOL Let's see, I like Greyhounds alot.
And, yes, I can cook. I just asked my dad to teach me how to cook egg rolls so that I can make a tasty meal for my beloved bride! ^_^

And then, what is your favorite breed of dog?
Oh, and if I can ask another question, how long have you been engaged?

OK Atria, I am going to have to make an educated guess, like a good detective, but base part of that on my gut. LOL I am guessing you like Sherlock Holmes and Death Note.

I have moved meybe four to six times in my life. Really, its not that many.
My favorite summertime activity is (I can't say spending time with my fiancé? lol) Probably cycling or playing Ultimate Frisbee.
Icecream truck music is neither exciting or annoying; rather, I find it whimsical. My mind wanders as I focus on the music.
Not of the Bible, eh? Well, my favorite historical person is probably Charles Spurgeon or George Meuller.
The anime I want most to own right now is either Darker Than Black or the complete Maccross Saga. Now that is subject to change. If One Piece resolves well, then it will be One Piece. LOL

And what is the Anime you want most to own right now?

...and you would be right! I totally love those (DN up to 25, at least- after that I fell off the bus), as well as Detective Conan and Detective Academy Q :thumb: As for for anime I most want to own right now, I really want Summer Wars- it's such a great anime. hmmm... is 25 when L... uh... er... when it got boring? My bro said it ended well. Ah, I have been wanting to watch Detective Conan. And of the two you really want, are they good, clean anime you would recommend?

I admire Charles Spurgeon's passionate love for Christ and the gospel, his resolve to ne'er compromise the gospel, and his theology... like I totally agree with the dude 100%! ^_^ And Meuller was so faithful, trusting God in even the littlest things! Also he cared very much for children of London. and, I agreed with him theologically mostly. He, like many a Christian should, practically applied the study of the Bible! ^_^
If I had a favorite philosopher, it would be St. Agustin. I think they call him a philosopher... but he was amazing in his study and perception of the human soul. Very deep stuff, I recommend his Confessions, personally.
The time era I'd love to visit most is broadly the Victorian era, but most specifically the time of the Napoleonic Wars; i.e., early to mid nineteenth century.
What annoys me alot... uh... hmm... texting or IMing someone in the same room. :?
Besides my own! O.o oh! LOL Well that would definitely be the romance of Christ and His Bride the Church! ^_^ Next to that would Ruth and Boaz. And then I really like the romance of Elizabeth Bennett and Fitzwilliam Darcy in Pride and Prejudice.
My favorite commercial... uh... hmmm... probably something funny. But I am not a big fan of commercials so I can't remember which it was. But really, the ones I do like are usually philosophically/psychologically deep and convey a point poignantly. Usually by means of the tool of humor. So then, what is your favorite commercial?

Hi, I'm Juliannesan, or just Julianne.

I don't really know you, but I like surveys too.
I've been reading a little bit on this thread so I have some questions to ask as well.

How long have you and your fiancee been together?
[I also am getting married, but in September this year = D]
How long have you been into anime?
Why did you like rap, and was rap the only music you liked before classical?
What part of the US do you live? [if you don't mind me asking]
What are your favorite animes?
How did you get into liking anime?

Okay, I think that's enough for now. ^_^

LOL All cool bro. Casting Crowns I hear is really good stuff. And, well, to answer about Star Trek. To be honest, I am not a treky. But I'm not a Star Wars fan either. My space fantasy of choice when growing up was Mechwarrior/Battletech. However, when growing up, I watched Star Trek with my dad. I especially have fond memories of TNG and Voyager as I used to watch these with dad. Between the two, I would have to say I liked the characters of TNG but I liked the resolve of Voyager. Do you have a favorite Star Trek series?

Hullo Julianne! :D It is a pleasure to meet you! And an honour to meet a fellow adventurer (or meybe blessed works better ^_^ ) of the matrimonial path, or as I view it, the matrimonial calling. Holy Matrimony is a beautiful calling, a mission statement, a living gospel tract! It is a beautiful picture of Christ and His Bride! The Church! So marriage is such a beautiful and lovely thing and I congratulate you! I am very happy for you and those of my other friends here who are getting married! Praise the Lord!!! :D :D :D
My lady and I have been together almost exactly a year now. (:sadness: reflects on the ten months until the wedding day) But that is so cool you just have until September to get married! So awesome its so close! (I gotta wait 'till April).
I've only been into anime for a couple of months, just since my bro introduced me to it. But, as a writer, and noticing his talent, I became interested as a possible outlet, thus began studying anime/manga and have fallen in love with it! ^_^
Actually, technically, I liked Classical before rap, but have gone back to it since I gave up rap. The story to my interest in rap is interesting... To start off, I was homeschooled. So I hadn't had much exposure (thankfully) to worldly music until I took my second job at a department store. While there, I listened to the radio over in the store and, being very analytical, studied the lyrics (for me, the beat or style of music doesn't actually bother my conscience so much as the lyrics themselves, which can be a stumbling block for me). So I studied these lyrics and besides being mildly entertained by the logical and moral inconsistencies, I was bothered by it. So I looked for an alternative for when we closed shop and my coworkers cranked up the volume. My Classical and Celtic wasn't getting these lyrics out of my head. So what I did was start listening to Newsboys and some other Christian Rock. Here I was introduced to logical, and deep thinking lyrics as well as neat electronic sounds and heart throbbing beats. I came to want more synthetic sound and beat as well as deeper lyrics. I found rap was the only outlet for such. A good rap song with deep lyrics will have you going over the song over and over, discovering new things all the time. At first it was just Toby Mac until I discovered the Christian Reformed rappers loosely known collectively as the 116 Clique. But I have come to agree with my bride that it does effect one's attitude, the beat anyway. So, for her, I don't listen to it anymore. Indeed, she is of value far above rubies, so what is but a few pebbles to the treasure that is she!? <3
And I live in the Midwest, though I actually come from Colorado. ^_^
And my favorite Animes are Darker Than Black, One Piece, Samurai X, Captain Harlock, Black Jack and I am starting to get into Samurai 7, Gundam 00, and Romeo x Juliet. (No, I don't really have alot of time to watch all that I want seeing as I am getting married and my lovely bride takes first priority... so wedding plans do make it such I haven't been able to watch all these to the very end yet but I am working on it! ^_^)
OK, my turn. How long have you and your fiancé been together? And what are your favorite Animes?

Oh! and, to any and all interested, things have kinda slowed a bit so I am going to be able to get back to the Novel Chaos Game, which I am now calling Chaos Universe and am taking much more seriously as a literary work. I have some new ideas and look forward to going forward with them! :D
Also, if y'all are interested, I now know how to post a personal pic, so I have posted one of my favorite pics of me and my lovely bride! :D :D :D

Very cool! Also very noble of you for giving up rap like that, that's awesome. I mean, if that's what you feel called to do and you wish to please you're bride. That's really great. God bless you, man.

I know what you mean about rap, it can lead into wrong sets of mind, if you're not careful, even with just the beat itself. And if its a hindrance and conviction for you to stay away from... God bless you for following that. :)

I myself am not really into rap, because of the similar problems, but I do listen to it still occasionally. [mostly Christian]
I'm more into soft rock and classical myself, also I love Japanese rock [some of it, like from certain animes and stuff] same with J-Pop. But I am careful with lyrics and things like that.

Needless to say, I'm a very musically inclined as well as inspired person.
I also was homeschooled Kindergarten and up. And I am grateful for it. = )

That's cool, Colorado. I'm from the East Coast, originally born in the East Coast. :P Massachusetts, specifically. I'll be moving to New Hampshire with my new husband after our marriage though. :)

My fiance and I have been together for almost 2 1/2 years. [in September, it will be officially 2 1/2 years] We met at a Christian Bible conference. God really moved in a great way for us to meet. Couldn't ask for a better person. = ) And we've been engaged over a year now. [it was a year as of July 26th] so I definitely know the feeling of a long engagement. But it's worth it, if you want to not worry about getting your plans all organized the way you want to. :)

Okay, second answer. My favorite animes are as follows.
Rurouni Kenshin
Samurai X [the Rurouni Kenshin movie]
Samurai 7
Superbook
Trigun
The Story of Saiunkoku
La Corda D'Oro (Primo Passo)
Hanasakeru Seishonen
Ouran High School Host Club
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle
Clannad
Clannad After Story
Witch Hunter Robin

Weiss Kreuz [the first season & OVA, not second season Weiss Kreuz Gluhen]
Fruits Basket
S-cry-ed
Full Metal Alchemist

Anime movies!
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time
Ponyo
Howl's Moving Castle
The Cat Returns
Porco Rosso
The Castle in the Sky

Incidentally, I've liked anime since I was 14. Soooo. it's been 9 years almost? That I've had time to gain so many favorites. :P There's probably more but I can't really think of more than that right now.

So then, what is your favorite commercial?

SDG

For question number 1- I'd have to say... it depends on your definition of 'good, clean anime'. I'd say that Summer Wars is pretty clean, on the level of The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (only one or two swears, one or two references to sex, and a brief non-detailed almost-nude shot that's entirely non-sexual). I'd rate it about a PG-11 or 12. Higashi no Eden is a bit more mature, with some heavy themes about what's going on politically in Japan. While it's pretty non-sexual, there are some undetailed-nudie bits that, believe it or not, have some importance to the story :wow!: and some minor swears here and there. So more like PG-14 or 15.

My favorite commercial? You know those Coca-cola commericals that come on around Christmas with the polar bears sharing bottles of Coke? Yeah, I love those!

So do you and your fiance have a place to live picked out?
What is her favorite dessert?
Her favorite color?
And has she picked out a dress yet? (I love hearing about the dresses! XD )

Thank you very much. I am honoured by your compliment. But its nothing really great on my part. Really, when it comes down to it, my perfect model for the perfect man for my bride is not Edward Cullen or Fitzwilliam Darcy, but Christ Jesus. So then, I must be very selfish if I am not willing to give up for my bride as He gave up for His Bride]and[/i] homeschooled! Sweet awesome!!! and all the way! Awesomer still!!! Totally the way to go... ok, so lemme ask, are you and your fiancé going to homeschool your kids? My betrothed and I were homeschooled all the way too! XD and she and I are passionate about home-educating our children... seeing as we both see the family as a high calling, a ministry!!! :D :D :D
And that is totally cool about you and your fiancé! (my bride is in New England too and she'll be moving out here when we wed... er, so is the plan so far. LOL Lest the Lord changes things accordingly). So you two met at a conference, eh? How did you two meet, if you don't mind my asking? Sounds like it is a neat story! ^_^ My bride and I had an incredible story too! Oh wow! It was so much the work of the Lord and so romantic too!!! :D :D :D I think, anyway... of course. LOL
That is an awesome list of anime! Some of those I am still looking into and a few had somewhat peaked my interest! Really cool!
Oh and thanks for the comment on the picture! I really appreciate it! Its one of my favorites!!! :D :D :D Ah such bliss in just being with her!!! :D :D :D

Ever watch Power Rangers?

Dude, that is a great list! I like that. I heard that Enterprise was really lame. So I never watched it... and perverted. But by that time, I think we were watching Andromeda instead. Got to about season 2, I think.
LOL Yes and no. My parents told me when I was young that I was never to watch power rangers. But I loved 'em as a kid. I got the action-figures and tried to get an opportunity to watch when I was being babysat (and I'm not proud of that). I liked them so much that I made a comic when I was a kid called, "The Power Rangers That I Made Up". LOL So then, did you like Power Rangers? And what did you think of Firefly?

hullo KH! :D Thank you for posting! :D Yes, my favorite Asian food is eggrolls, just the way my dad makes them! Oh man, so delectable. Indeed, I love them so much, I asked my dad to teach me how to make them so I can make 'em for my lovely bride! :D But I also really like Fried Rice, Sweet and Sour Chicken (alot of Chinese food... I've never had Japanese food). Do Raman Noodles count? And I am willing to try anything except Mongolian Grill... yuck! I had some local MG and two years later, I still can't forget the horrible mixture I had made of my plate. Granted, its my fault for making a shrimp dish. But I just can't go back yet. I gotta forget that taste first! So tell me, what is your favorite Asian food?

Ah! I see. hmmm... well thanks for telling me about the nude scenes. Just those alone will keep me from seeing an anime in most all cases. I am ashamed to say that, yes, I watched Darker Than Black all the way through... as it did have me hooked and tried to change to another screen with the bad scenes. I'm really ashamed of that. Anyway, I try to stay away from such scenes alltogether. ya know, I'm practically a married man! So I figure my mind is already committed to my bride... and my eyes are hers, and no one elses. So yeah. Thanks alot for the heads up! ^_^
Yes, she and I do have a place picked out right now! hehehe! :D or, do you mean location or actual residence? (its a long distance relationship... LOL) otherwise, apartments, no, we don't. LOL Not yet.
Her favorite dessert? That is a good question, as she very rarely eats sweets. Probably cake... no... chocolate. She mentions that more often. hmmm... meybe I am just being dense, just like a guy.
Her favorite colour(s), she has many, would chiefly be Purple, Pink, and Blue! ^_^
And yes, she has picked out a dress!!! :D :D :D But I can't see it. Er, I mean I am not supposed to see it. I'm really bummed only in that I can't know how her hair will be made up... I happen to really like her hair! ^_^ But I really want to see the dress too, because... well... I love fashion and clothing! And I think its awesome my bride will be so beautiful! But I know it will be best to see her walking down the isle in her dress than see some picture or what not. LOL
If you like hearing about the dresses, do you have a dress picked out already?

You caught me. Yep, I like Power Rangers. Especially the Time Force and Lost Galaxy seasons.
Do you like alternative music? Got any faves?

And here;'s where get to smile- those nudie scenes are on the part of the guys. THe girls stay clothed or colvered for those anime- might want to watch out for your finacee's eyes! XD

While I wish I had a dress picked out, I figure by the time I get married I wouldn't be able to find it in a store, since dresses go in and out of style like anything else. But I also have a terrible time trying to find dresses that look good on me. Actually, because of that I haven't owned a dress since I was 12!

You're interested in fashion and clothes, though? Cool! Does your bride think it's great, too? Do you sometimes help pick out clothes for her?
Are you having wedding cake, or some other dessert? (some relatives of mine hated how dry wedding cake usually was, so ordered pies from a local bakery instead!)
What color is her hair?
Does she look more like her mom or dad?

wow! Well, that is encouraging that it won't compromise me... though now I have to go into a philosophic quandary as to whether or not I wish to watch something I wouldn't want her to watch... lol but wow! so that actually adds to the story? I can't possibly see how. But I don't really want to think too hard on it.

XD Yes! She does think its cool!!! :D :D :D And, no, I haven't picked out clothes for her yet, just because it isn't practical yet. But we are both looking forward to that experience! I know I have since I was a young boy (just something so awesome in being able to appreciate her and her tastes when clothes shopping!) But i do get to appreciate what she picks out as she shows me some things she gets! :D
Now, I am not a connoisseur of cake by any stretch of the imagination. But we are doing a traditional cake! :D
And her gorgeous hair is brown! :D :D :D
As to who she looks like most, its interesting, she looks distinctly unique. I mean she has a few traits from her mom and a few from her dad. But she doesn't look more like one or the other. I dunno though. LOL Hope I didn't dig myself a grave with that one! LOL

Do you like cake then?

LOL Which Ranger was your favorite? (by colour please, I don't know their names lol).
Well, if Newsboys were alternative, then yes, I used to. But I don't really listen to anything with a beat... specifically a drum beat. But yeah, some really neat music there. LOL Do you have any favorites?

For PR, it depends on the season. Most of the time, I like the blue one, because that's usually the smart one.
Well, if you like, I can recommend some alternative acts that aren't too offensive. I'd recommend you start with Tears For Fears, U2, or Peter Gabriel. Try them out and get back to me.

As much as I love any dessert (which means a lot! XD ) There's a local specialty cake called an 'atomic cake', and what that is is (from the bottom up) a layer of banana cake topped with banana filling (the fruit, not a pudding or something like that), then a layer of yellow cake topped with strawberry filling, and then a layer of chocolate with a thin layer of chocolate filling on top, all covered with whipped cream frosting!
