Working! ep 1- at first, it seemed like an anime about working in a restaurant, with an annoying moe character. And then.... it got weird. IRL this restaurant wouldn't survive, and that annys me above all else- there's enough shennanigans that go on without making up even more wierd stuff!

Picked up Digimon Adventure Zero Two again after a very long absence from watching it. It is great to watch the uncut Japanese versions and get the whole story without any horribly corny jokes or random movie references.

I watched episode 1 of Kaitou Saint Tail, an old, little-known anime that a friend recommended. It's way too early to make a verdict on it yet, but I certainly think it's stupid of Meimi to go out as Saint Tail without so much as putting a mask on. How does she expect to escape detection that way? :eyeroll:

So since I'm one of those freeloaders who has to wait for Crunchyroll to release the simulcasts for free, I've finally gotten around to watching Heroman episode 1, the first of the three, possibly four, simulcasts that I'm watching this season. While I had to go "Am I really watching this?" at a couple parts, I was for the most part impressed with it, and the comic book ending was totally awesome. I call for a FLCL comic part in the show. Or at least an OVA like that, or something.

Also, I can't figure out if I love or dislike the afro dude.

Finished the first "season" - the Suzaku box set - of Fushigi Yugi. Dang it, they had to end it THAT way?! :waah!: Poor Tamahome! Sheesh, and I thought the women of CLAMP were sadistic. Yuu Watase seems to like tormenting her characters just as much, though...

Have to say, I'm pretty captivated. And rather pleasantly surprised. I'd read so much about how hardcore Fushigi Yugi is, and so far, it's been rather tame. I mean, some horrible stuff has happened, sure, but there's been nothing explicitly shown. Either I'm becoming seriously de-sensitized, or I haven't gotten to the gritty stuff yet. And well, since it seems like we're starting to get to know the bad guys now...that could very well be the case.

Since I'm sick today, I'm sitting down for a marathon of Kimi ni Todoke- I've watched episodes 10-17 so far, and am hoping to finish the series today. BTW- episode 16 is only a recap episode, so I really just watched about a minute. If anyone else is watching it, be warned.

Finished Kimi ni Todoke (it was good, but the ending screamed 'buy the manga!') and started Earth Maiden Arjuna, which is like a grown-up version of Captain Planet.

Uh, yup. I hadn't gotten quite far enough. lol. Just finished episode 42. Dang it, the angst...:bang: And Romeo and Juliet are supposed to be the poster children for star crossed lovers? They got nuthin' on Miaka and Tamahome...

Edit: also watched the first episodes of Hakuouki, Senkou no Night Raid and Arakawa Under Bridge last night. All of which were pretty good. Of the three, Senkou no Night Raid has intrigued me the most, but the other two weren't bad. Arakawa is pretty zany - I'm looking forward to seeing where it's going with all the loopiness. Hakuouki seems like a pretty typical reverse harem adventure story, but I'm a sucker for those (I'm barreling through Fushigi Yugi, after all, too! ;) ) and it's around the Meiji era and it's very pretty...so no complaints there! lol. Senkou no Night Raid, though, was especially captivating. I honestly feel completely at sea, but I'm really looking forward to seeing where it's going to go. And I can't believe it. If what ANN says is true, the guy that can teleport is voiced by Daisuke Namikawa!! That's quite different from his Fai/Italy voice!!:wow!:

Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' on Heaven's Door

It is a pretty good addition to the series. Maybe a little long, and the music wasn't jazzy enough to be good Bebop, but it is a decent tale regardless. 7/10

Sword of a Stranger

Superb visuals. This is probably the only animation that I have ever seen that even comes close to challenging 5 cm Per Second in sheer beauty. I just wish they hadn't even tried to use CGI. The fight scenes were incredible, fluid, well choreographed --and brutal. The characters were not annoying, generally. Storyline? Serviceable. Great, great movie. 9/10

From the way everyone here has talked about it, I decided to watch the first episode of Monster. I can definitely see a Death Note-esque quality to it, though I suppose it should be the other way around, since Monster came out before Death Note. In any case, I definitely see this as a series to pursue.

Just finished Angel Beats! episode two, still very interesting in seeing whether or not a certain character's mindset reminds the way it is so far. Don't want to pass any hasty evaluations until I've seen it through.

Going onto Working! and Senko no Night Raid's first episodes now, with Durarara!! topping that off afterwards. If I have enough time before bed, that is--being gone all weekend makes me miss a bunch. ^^;

So my act of procrastination today was churning through Potemayo, which is a comedy involving an inexplicable blob thing. It was a fun watch, but the star of the show wasn't Potemayo, the aforementioned creature, but the other creature, Guchuko. There is probably no way I can convince anyone to take a look at this unless they're willing to watch something way outside of their typical interests.

Other than waiting on the two noitaminA shows, I've pretty much solidified my watchlist for this season:
Angel Beats! because I am not strong enough to deny a Maeda Jun project.
Arakawa Under the Bridge because I am not strong enough to deny Shinbo and Maaya Sakamoto.
K-ON!! because I hate myself.
Working!! because I am apparently a sucker for adaptations of 4-panel comics.
Kaichou wa Maid-sama because apparently I'm a girl or something.
Senkou no Night Raid because LOL historical revisionism and bad Mandarin.

Watched the first episode of Working!! today, which seems rather charming and quirky so far.

I'm on the fence whether or not to try Rainbow, having been following the ANN Spring Previews, and everyone so far seems to recommend it, BUT...it seems pretty intense, too.

Well, unlike most of the recent posters, at the moment I'm not watching anything from the spring season. On a whim, I decided to rewatch Wolf's Rain. I tried a rewatch of this a few months ago, and it didn't take because I was in the mood for something action-y. Now, I'm fidning it's somber tone and slower pace to be just my speed.

I am working on episode five. I'm sure most of you know that the OST is composed by Yoko Kano. The prologue for this episode has an amazing piece of music.

Is there a separate discussion thread for this show? I'd be interested to read you guys' analysis of WR.
