How much lurk would a lurker lurk?

...if a lurker could lurk...er...

Alright, it's time. Ask me a question, and I might even answer it!

Hi Midori. What are your favorite anime/manga?

Ah, the old question again. I'm afraid I have a very hard time answering any question with the word 'favorite' in it. :| But I'll try.

Let's see...I can give a few of my favorites, but I can't list them all. Things like:
- Noein
- Scrapped Princess
- Toradora
- Code Geass
- Utena
- several others I've forgotten

As for manga...it's been a while since I've encountered a manga I really liked, but let's see if I can remember. Most recently, Palette of the 12 Secret Colors has been one of my favorites.

Unfortunately not...I have little talent for art, though my cousin is quite good at it, and I was considering collaborating with her on some sort of comic (helping with plot, I mean)

1. Game: Smash Bros. on all three consoles. Console: GC or maybe SNES.
2. Anime: excluding Ghibli films.....Sailor Moon *slightly embarrased, but liked it* Manga: Gon
3. The Blue-haired Autistic Girl (can you tell?)
4. Arm, my left arm, especially if I could get one of those nerve-controlled robotic arms.
5. "3.14159265..."
6. Also depends on how good the site's RSS feed is working. :) Pretty good recently.
7. Despite my low post-density, CAA more than any other, unless you count Twitter.
8. Most of my anime watching is with my family on Tuesday and Sunday evenings. We randomize the order of our list and watch one episode of each item in the list until we run out of time. Currently the list is:
- Toradora
- XXXHolic
- Strain
- Spice and Wolf
- Code Geass
- Eureka 7
- Eden's Bowy
- Blue Drop
- Tsubasa
As for manga, I'm not currently reading any regularly. See above for my most recent favorite.
9. Gourry from The Slayers
10. Perhaps...if we have met, it'd have been a long time ago. Nice to (re?)meet you.

Koji Kondo. Yeah. And J. S. Bach, and Beethoven, and Yoko Kanno. Perhaps Nobuo Uematsu can get in there too, and David Wise, and whoever wrote This piece. Oh, and Hatsune Miku...or...not...

Morimiya Aono of Sola, a lovely modern Blue-Haired Autistic Girl. Though I may change it soon.

rocklobster wrote:Why do you post so sporadically?
Because I'm an antisocial recluse--I mean, it's really because I'm busy with school and my life. Actually it's really because I'm like a cat, who comes and goes as he pleases.

I do appreciate CAA for being a place where attendance isn't mandatory. I'm the type of personality that gets excited about one thing and pursues it for a while, then gets bored and goes somewhere else.

rocklobster wrote:What's the Japanese under your avatar?
It means the same thing as the English that I had there previously. :) Type it into Google Translate, and as a bonus, remove the space to get my Twitter username. This partially explains the above answer too.

I haven't been to an amusement park in a long time. Probably Disney Land. :]
Lilac#18 wrote:Who's your favorite anime characters?
Hard to decide. I can usually pick a favorite character from an individual show, but I've just seen too much anime to pick favorites from all of them. I'll try to list a few though.
- Hoshino Ruri of Nadesico
- Wolfwood of Trigun
- L of Death Note
- Karasu of Noein
- basically the whole cast of Scrapped Princess
- any aforementioned characters and character categories
Lilac#18 wrote:What's your favorite restaurant(s)?
This is a bit easier to answer. There's a famous (and delicious) Chinese place near where I live called Chef Chu's. There used to be a really good Vietnamese noodle soup place near me too, but it went away. I don't usually go for fast food, but when I do, it's usually Yoshinoya or Taco Bell. In the exclusive domain of burger chains, In-N-out is the best. However, the place I've been that has the highest density of really good restaurants is Tokyo. Food is expensive there, but it's generally really tasty.
Lilac#18 wrote:What's your favorite food?
I like to eat a variety of things. If I eat a lot of something for a while, I'll get tired of it and want something else. My traditional answer to the Favorite Food question is Macaroni and Cheese. The kind that comes in a box. Make sure you get the 'White Cheddar' kind, as it's the only kind that doesn't taste like junk food. I usually make it with butter rather than margarine, and whole milk, but that's because I'm underweight. :) If you're confident in your cooking skills (and have a non-stick pot to avoid burning) you can brown the butter slightly before adding the other ingredients. Oooh, heavenly.
Lilac#18 wrote:Do you have any siblings?
Two sisters and one brother, all older than me. My sisters are both married, the oldest one with a child. My brother is studying quantum mechanics in grad school. It's his fault I learned math concepts before I was supposed to learn them in school.
Lilac#18 wrote:Do you follow the latest fashion, like in magazines, on models, etc?
No, not really. The closest I've gotten was watching a couple seasons of America's Next Top Model, but that was just because they were interesting.

I have a big C. S. Lewis anthology that I have yet to get considerably into...the only books of his I've finished are the Narnia series, the Abolition of Man, and the one about words. I'd have to say my favorite book of his is the Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
rocklobster wrote:did you ever see the Narnia movies?
Both the 1988 series (which covered up to the Silver Chair) and the newer LWW and Caspian. They're both rather different views on the books. Somehow I doubt the new series will get much farther than the old one though.

I am planning to get some sort of computer-related job, and eventually possibly at a video game company, but that's the extent of my plans.
rocklobster wrote:Favorite animal?
Turtles and tortoises. Just...everything about them.
rocklobster wrote:Favorite comic strips (online or in newspaper)
That'd be Calvin and Hobbes. In the online category, there's Megatokyo and also Brawl in the family.
Mithrandir wrote:I'm curious to know if you have a favorite place to which you've ever traveled?
That's a toss-up between Tokyo and Nairobi. Hm...they have their advantages and disadvantages. Japan is japan, but Kenya is...well, Kenya. I can't choose between them.
Mithrandir wrote:I'm also curious if you "know what you want to be when you grow up," whatever that means. XD
I presume it means my dream job, regardless of any qualifications I may have for it. In that case, I'd choose to be a policeman or a fireman, just like any good 5-year-old. :D But I'm way too lazy to be one of those, so I'd settle for a more realistic expectation like video game programmer/designer. What would be optimal would be if I could design my own video games from scratch and somehow be paid for it...but that's not likely either. I'd end up releasing it for free and being a freeloader at my parents' house. Not that that sounds like a bad life...*coughhikikomoricough*

How I always answered this when I was little was 'gardener'. I don't remember why. I notice now that gardeners in TV shows are usually cool and charismatic, but nobody even gives a passing thought to their gardener in real life. :| I blame the noisy leafblowers.

Well, I've always strongly favored the color green, and so the Japanese word for that made sense. Actually, it was primarily my Smash Bros. Melee moniker (reflecting my usual choice of character color and player slot) before I signed up for CAA, since Melee allows names to have kana in them.
