Amazing, is it not? The dub cast is the same for both, minus Scar and Ed. Do you know the premise of Brotherhood?

Speaking of Brotherhood, I'm about to go watch episode 24 of Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood.

Honestly, suck it up. We all got used to it, so can you. If you liked the first FMA, then Brotherhood will be that minus the awful original content plus the awesome manga content that no one thought would be animated. Since the current arc started, it has blown away the best of the first anime (as opposed to matching), and as a manga reader, I can say with certainty that it only gets better.

Anyway, I watched FMA: Brotherhood episode 42. Awesome as always.

And I also watched Kodocha episodes 8-9. Wow. Some really groundbreaking things happened, that promise to affect the whole rest of the story.

Evading the extremelly provocative invitation to get caught in the legendary Troll Wars, I'll also submit to only discuss the topic of the anime in question:

As others have pointed nudity is not only not detailed, but also coherent with the story and used extremelly sparingly only where it's justified. You are chastising the concept of the nude human body which is something God himself made, while what God warns us against is sexual sins which come from the heart of man. Remember that is not what enters the body which contaminates it, but what comes out from it.

Would you also come crashing down on a series about the Bible that faithfully displays nudity whenever it's mentioned or suggested in it? I'm afraid that the average person will be bombarded with much more nudity just by having his eyes open in today's world than by understanding it's proper place in stories that justify it in their narrative. On the accuracy of the portrayal of medieval church in the series, I'm also afraid that solid historical evidence (as the one you can find in any respectable history book or research) supports it and it's not only random hatred on God's church.

In other news, I just watched Tales of Earthsea. It was not a bad movie, but definitely doesn't measure to other movies of the beloved studio Ghibli.

Just provoking me to think is a plus, so I will give GG a go, but it has been pushed onto the back burner due to the amazingness of FMA. I simply HAVE to watch more of Brotherhood. Yeah, Mustang's VA in the first series was unbelievable. He pulled off all the the various facets of the character: the smugness, the effortless charm, the steely determination, the vulnerable moments...You said it, Okawa-san is Mustang.

Chill, sir. I will get used to it (by the end of the first episode it was beginning to sound normal to me), but I am just taking a moment to mourn. The change was so jarring, since ALL the other VAs seemed the same to me. And while the original content was not as good as the first half of the show, it was by no means a Rurouni Kenshin situation. So, all things considered, I liked the original content; however, I am even more jazzed about finding out where the story truly goes after ep 25. I trust your opinions, so if you think it is better than the best of the first series...just, wow. So jazzed!

Clicking up FMA Brotherhood episode 2.

CHAR CHAR CHAARR~.

As for all this FullMetal Alchemist talk going around, let me just say that Brotherhood trades in marginalized-side-character Anime King Bradley for not-watered-down-totally-awesome Manga King Bradley, which means that it is fundamentally better than the original series.

Just finished FMA Brothehood 5. Not sure if this is actually a spoiler but just to be safe
Does the whole show feel this rushed, or is the director just plowing through the old stuff as fast as he can? I am a fan of some of Brotherhood's additions (Ed's time at the gate in ep 2, and some of the Homunculus scenes, just to name a couple), but some scenes from these episodes lack the power of their corresponding scenes from the first series, specifically Basque Grand's death and the results of Tucker's experiment with Nina. Both of these moments had more gravity, IMO, in the original.
Yes. It is definitely quicker paced, but some of the effect may be because we've seen it already so we know what's going to happen. However, in terms of placement in the story, certain things happen much, much earlier on and certain characters had their importance inflated in the first anime. Don't be surprised when some people bite it relatively early on.

Last Exile episodes 1-13

This is probably the best first-half of an anime that I have ever seen. While that isn't particularly saying much, considering I have only seen a handful, the series is excellent. It has likable characters, an intricate plot, real character development, a complete and thriving world that is hinted to be much, much bigger than what is shown, very cool and strategic airship battles, and, of course, superb animation and sound.

Normally, I don't care for anime because it is usually just a slower version of the manga. In this case, however, the series makes full use of the medium, with flashy firefights and plenty of actual, well, motion. My only complaints are that the overall pace of the show is fairly slow and that the CGI occasionally looks tacky.

While I have yet to see the remaining 13 episodes, and the ending could make or break the show, I have high hopes and look forward to seeing the rest.

Phantom: Requiem For The Phantom. Ep1

I saw this the other day and was interested to see the show. I really enjoyed the earlier OVA, so here's to hoping that this keeps up with the OVA.

Fullmetal Alchemist:Brotherhood dub episode 1

Hearing the old dub cast (well almost all of it....Al's voice will take some getting used to. The voice actress' voice sounds too muffled ) has made me want to start watching the series again. I can't wait to get it on blu-ray in May.

Adult Swim must have been really pressed for time. There wasn't even a next episode preview...

Wallflower(Not bad, not the best series I've ever seen, but not an aweful series; it was okay.)
"Magnetic Rose" and "Stink Bomb" from Memories.
Twelve Kingdoms will be next.

FMA Brotherhood up through 18. I now have mad respect for Col. Mustang. Always liked his character, but his talent for deception/manipulation (which was only hinted at in the first series) is a site to behold.
I thought he actually killed Lt. Ross, so ep 18 was pretty surprising.
Mustang possesses a lot of the qualities I like about Griffith from Bersek without dipping into the latter's more sinister side (yet).

I am totally digging Brotherhood since it has emerged from the (partial) retread episodes.

It's about at this point where people start to realize and understand that Brotherhood really is a very different show from the first anime. And it's at about this point where the entire thing really takes off.

So, So Ra No Wo To 07. I've said before that I'd anticipated that the tone of the series won't be anything like K-ON! for very long. Over the first half of the show, we've been seeing it slowly inch away from having fun with revelations like the Nomansland stuff. But, this episode makes it very, very clear that there's something up with this world and that there's a lot that we don't know about the series. Tonally, it's very different from the ones before and I'm looking forward to seeing how this show will end off.

I recently started Death Note and am on episode 6. I am also watching Tsubasa Chronicles and am on episode 30. Also watching Haruhi Suzumiya season 2 and Digimon Zero Two. I am in the middle of the endless eight with episode 5 of Haruhi next and I don't remember what episode of Digimon I am on. I am also watching Case Closed and Dragonball Kai, though that one is kind of on hold for me because I haven't watched it in forever.

*is extremely excited about the dub of FMA: Brotherhood even though won't get to see it till it comes out on DVD*

Kodocha episodes 10-13. Kyaaa, I'm loving this series more and more with every episode! I'm simultaneously laughing so hard my sides ache and feeling like I want to cry, which doesn't happen very often. You have to like crazy, random humor to enjoy this show, but if you do, I would heartily recommend it so far.

I also saw Grave of the Fireflies. Lovely movie, of course. I was a little surprised at myself, though, because from everything I'd heard I expected to be bawling all the way through the movie. But I only cried at the end. What a touching, tragic story. Amazing.

And I also watched episode 28 of the first FMA series. I'd forgotten how satisfactory Izumi's voice is.
