Monster Hunter

Anyone play? Well, for that matter, anyone know about it? It's my favorite game, but very few people in the USA have even heard of it. I'll give more details if you'd like, but I want to know if anyone here is part of the 'secret society' of MH.

I played the first one for the PS2 but since I don't have any internet connection on it, I didn't get to do too much. There were some things I liked and some things I didn't care for as far as actual gameplay went. The monsters were impressive but the controls were a bit too slow, too choppy for me.

I've heard there's a PC version but I dunno if it's any good or not.

Oh, I think I saw a ton of Monster Hunter 3 ads in Japan (I think that was the game, anyways.). I haven't played it though.

Have played the first one on a PS2, and Freedom Unite on my friend's PSP. Can't wait for Monster Hunter 3 (tri). The sheer depth of it (it's not just about killing monsters) makes it worthy. PLAY IT WHEN YOU CAN.

Haha, yeah it is very popular in Japan, Ante. I'm buying Tri ASAP. Dad and I are such hardcore fans we actually bought and played the japanese version of Unite (aka 'G') from hong kong cause we couldn't wait/ didnt know if Unite would go the way of MH2 for the PS2, Japan release only. MH is definately made for Co-op, even using the phrase, "Never Hunt Alone," in the promos. Anyhow, was just seein' if there were folks out there, since MH is kinda a cult like thing here in the USA. It has satisfied me all the ~2,000 hours I have spent on the series with my Dad, so recomend giving it a try! The little fishing guy liked it. n.n/)

Never heard of it. I'll have to do some research on it.
