So far I really like it, but I really should resume watching it, I haven't watched much anime at all lately, but that's why it's taking so long to finish the series... Last episode I watched was 19 I believe, I think it's the area of the story telling Taiki's story?

"Finished" Bakemonogatari. I'm not happy. These characters and universe have so much potential that the whole series feel like the introductory episodes of something much bigger and awesome. Loved the character design and the direction choices (except in episode 10 when they totally ran out of budget.) I wish I could spend more time with these characters.

Also, what's with that opening animation of the first episode? I kept waiting for something like that to happen.

That one begins a little slowly (I wanted the previous arch to keep going) but once it gets rolling, it becomes very good.

Completed Fantastic Children 1-5

Yeah. I watched it a while back. The character designs probably turn off a lot of people, but the show's quite solid with some interesting plot twists.

Just finished Victorian Romance Emma Season 2. Just to give you an idea of how much I enjoyed it - I was totally only planning on watching an episode or two of it today...and I watched the whole season in one afternoon....:red:
SO glad it ended happily. Have to say, though, as much as I wanted William and Emma to get together, a little part of me was rooting for Hans...on the other hand, I wanted to shake Eleanor until her teeth rattled. lol. Dunno why, since she was rather harmless and sweet, but she totally rubbed me the wrong way. I do feel for her having that jerk as a Father, though....
Next up:
Finish Monster
Aria
Baccano!
Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles Season 2

Finished Monster Season 1. Mind-blowingly epic. :o :thumb: Very much looking forward to more of this!! And as a Cardcaptor Sakura fan, hearing Eriol Hiiragizawa's voice coming out of Johan's mouth...was a severely creepy experience. :wow!: Not necessarily a bad thing. ;)

Also, just to keep some variety...starting Aria: The Animation. Gorgeous and soothing.

Heh. Actually, I liked it quite a bit when I was watching it, so I wasn't trying to sound unenthusiastic. Soundtrack was nice too. The opening and ending themes were really haunting and pretty.

Am attempting to get caught up on FMA: Brotherhood again @_@ Watched episodes 27-30. And was really disappointed about the way they did a few of my favorite scenes, but oh well. They're done right in my imagination, darn it! :shady:

And for a reason that I can hardly understand myself, I've started watching Kodomo no Omocha, aka Kodocha, aka The Craziest Anime I Know Of. :dizzy: I've only watched the first two episodes so far, with really horrible subtitles that make me glad I know a few common phrases in Japanese when they go and forget to put in subtitles for a couple sentences! :stressed: Anyway. I usually go for the really serious (or at least mostly serious) ones like Monster or Jin-Roh or Death Note, so this is a HUGE change of pace for me. I'm surprising myself by actually liking it quite a bit; I can't keep from laughing at Sana's mile-a-minute speech, her oblivious juvenile fantasizing about her "pimp" Rei (he's totally not), and her mom's crazy-weird hats :dizzy: And I'm also surprised at the occasional instances of real, serious, heartfelt elements to the story as well. I doubt Kodocha will ever go up on my classics shelf, but I'm having a good time with it all the same.
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

Finally finished Darker than BLACK 2 and Eden of the East.

DTB2: The ending was even more confusing than the first series. Also, what's up with Hei trading loli for loli for loli? I kind of hope there's a 3rd season, not only because I want to see more Hei, but also because I want to be less confused; of course, with the success of this sequel, I wouldn't be surprised.
I'd have to say that I think DTB1 was better. Or rather, independently, DTB2 was slightly better, but if you compare the two, DTB1 was much better? Something like that.

Eden of the East
I think this is one series that's been way underhyped. Imagine Code Geass if it was un-unrealistic and un-melodramatic enough to actually be GOOD, and then make it GREAT. In terms of visuals, characters, suspense, plot, and originality, I really think it blew everything else out of the water. It tackles real-world issues but instead of being preachy, it provokes thought. Furthermore, it was highly entertaining, funny and romantic at times, and... darnit, I don't think I've ever seen a superior opening and ending-- beautiful animation. I think it just might be my favorite anime (although who knows since it's not finished yet) and the one I'm most impressed with. Maybe I'm just gushing because I just finished it (after taking far too long; it takes me forever to watch anime I actually like), but unlike some of my previous faves, I don't have to make excuses (like saying I liked Houshin Engi for the art, or that Romeo x Juliet is pretty and romantic but the first half is better, or that Monster is good despite being boring as an anime, or that Code Geass is entertaining despite sucking).

But yeah. Go watch Eden of the East. It's awesome.

Yeah, like the scene when Winry's repairing Ed's arm and he's warning her about Kimblee...that was not as funny as I thought it would be...except for when he hits the floor, but otherwise not as funny as the book.

For the most part, I enjoyed Eden of the East, but found that the plot got kind of convoluted. In that light, I'm waiting for the two movies to cap everything off before deciding on how I feel about it, since the previews are very, very intriguing to me.

I just started inflicting Death Note on a friend of mine, so I'll probably be watching a lot of that in the next few weeks.

In the mean time, I've got Alien 9 from Netflix waiting for me to watch it.

Two short, but notable things, both brought to my attention by the fine folks at gg.

So on the bus ride to Urbana, I decided to read the first volume of Bungaku Shoujo. According to some blogger, it's the most hyped light novel since Haruhi. It's basically about a former genius teen writer and a youkai who eats stories. It's pretty cute. It's being made into an anime movie and there's a fifteen minute preview out. Here's the thing: I liked it, but based on the preview, I'm not entirely sure that theatrical feature length film (as opposed to TV series) is going to be the best format for this thing. It seems like since Kara no Kyoukai, everyone's been thinking that movie == automatic success.

Next, the first episode of an anime adaptation of a fantastic manga called Mudazumo Naki Kaikaku is being streamed. Essentially, take Saki, with all of its ridiculous over-the-top mahjong playing and replace all the moe with real-world political figures. In this particular episode, we've got Junichiro Koizumi and Taro Aso playing against Kim Jong-Il and one of his sons with the game moderated by George H.W. Bush. It's Gurren Lagann levels of kicking reason to the curb.
