APPP Co. Ltd. (Robot Carnival, Fist of the North Star) will animate the film, and is expected to begin work on it in 2010. A Guardians of Luna manga series is also in development. The story takes place in a near-future city and features four descendants of an ancient race of werewolf-like shapeshifters who have to protect their ancestral power source from the designs of a ruthless mogul.
According to The Guardians of Luna Website, the film will be released on DVD and Blu-ray
