Now, I have a certain respect for anyone who has ever had to beg for food, that is... it has to be one of the most humbling and psychologically painful experiences on the planet that I know of. It's a situation I wish I could rectify around the entire globe granting every human being a good meal and dignity, to be honest I certainly love food, that is a fairly obvious conjecture... But I'm also anything but rich and generally gather huge amounts of calories in a single meal taking all-you-can-eat to it's limits to minimize cost. (Eat now or starve later...)
All the same, there is a certain risk to the whole thing... Sometimes the people you'd ask don't have what you're looking for, or they might be having a hard time of it too and can't afford to help out.
However, today I was granted insight into an example of begging that was quite beyond my comprehension of understanding, it failed in such a manner that I had no actual understanding of how to respond and WWJD was failing me quite a bit. It wasn't even wrong.
Said freshman walked up to me in the cafeteria with a set of odd conjectures, he had concluded that every other student (except for him) on campus had meal credits which allowed students on the plan to buy an entire meal for a single credit. Needless to say, I live off campus and don't always eat in the cafeteria, I simply don't own such a plan, I pay for my meals out of pocket. If I had such credits more then I knew I was going to use, I'd probably help someone else out by letting them use them - but I don't own such credits. Even then, that's generally done between friends to my knowledge and not between strangers.
That doesn't begin to compare to his reaction however when I apologized for the inconvenience and informed him I didn't own such a plan.
His response will go down in the history of epic failures for begging for all eternity. He scowled at me to my face and responded by saying:
"What?! You look pretty [modsnip. No cursing even if it's starred out, please] fat to me!" - Epic Fail Begger
Rule #-1: When begging do not walk up to the person you are begging from and before they get two seconds to think insult them to their face.
Rule #-2: Do not insult potential instructors who can fail you on whim .
Rule #-3: Do not phrase a vast difference of strength against your favor in the form of an insult or antagonizing phrase while within pancaking distance of said newly formed opponent.
I wasn't quite sure how to respond, I mean... How does one respond to someone who goes out of their way to insult you while begging?! How does one act 100% arrogant while begging?! I didn't even know those two things could be combined ROLF. So, I couldn't help myself, I'm not sure how evil it was, but I just didn't say anything, flipped him the backside of my palm and laughed my head off as I walked out the room. I mean, how can you contain laughter at that?!
I mean, I hope I didn't do anything too cruel or mean, but just what could I do?! So, I'm laughing and I haven't stopped laughing for an hour and figured I'd let other people know as well.
