It's bringing back some memories, but besides that... holy crap... biggest trap of ALL time.

At least give it an adam's apple, but that would make the surprise less so.

I'm convinced that it's a rule that every shoujo series must have one.

So another excellent summer show I am watching is Tokyo Magnitude 8.0, which depicts what happens if Tokyo were to ever get hit by an 8.0 earthquake. The first few episodes were alright and were pretty consistent in quality, but it's the last one or two episodes that really stand out. It's got some pretty brilliant directing and something pretty shocking happens that pretty much no one expected.

I finished D'eon last night. I thought it ended pretty well. =) Oh, and the name Maximilien Robespierre is great for charades. ;)

I'm not sure what I'm going to watch next. Probably The Place Promised in Our Early Days, then I expect I'll be starting through the Ghost in the Shell movies and series. =)

Finished Lovely complex, and I doubt I'm going to start on any more already started anime as my mom was getting increasingly annoyed by seeing it on every time she walked into the room (usually without knocking)

It's only weekly anime for me now...

Umineko
Naruto Shippuden
Haruhi season 2

Though... I never finished Natsu no Arashi, and season 2 is coming up soon... *sigh*

I have just discovered the manly manliness of Gurren Lagann! I'm on episode 7 now.

I'm up to episodes 21 of both Phantom and FMA: Brotherhood. Does anyone know how many episodes Brotherhood is planned to have?

Finished up "Blue Seed" today. You know, after watching all these spit and polish CG anime, it's nice to get back to the gritty stuff like this every once in a while. Besides, the english dub is awesome, and you can tell that this was before ADV really blew up in the anime world.

It sure is hilarious that people are compelled to post about watching Gurren Lagann at the seventh episode. You all know what I'm talking about.

Man, that brings back memories. it was one of the first anime I watched knowing what "anime" was. I remember having encountered opinions back then. I digged the supernatural parts, but sometimes got utterly bored with the military parts. I was a kid, though, so it wouldn't be totally surprising if today I thought exactly the opposite.

Crowning moment of funny. Particularly the impeccable timing of Viral's entrance. I died.

Speaking of Viral, episode ten:
and he is now ascended to my favorite character. I already loved the guy, but apparently seeing him get smacked around by Adiane made me like him even more...? anyway I guess I needed a new favorite, since my previous one is no longer living D:
As for episode nine, I have never cried so hard at an anime in my life. Not even Grave of the Fireflies. ;_;

seen up through episode 12 now btw. xD

Well, I was referring more to the, "Gurren Lagann is pretty cool. Burning spirit and drills are pretty cool, can't wait for more of the same!" sort of thing and the fact that it was all coming in at episode seven, which is one before eight.

That's kind of creepy. That's how far I am now.

I know. I was kind of watching an episode here or there until yesterday, and episode eight shocked the crap out of me. I was just like :o but it was so well done, as was eleven and I can't wait to see more of the sheer awesomeness that is Lagann. Episodes 8 and 11 bumped it from "Oh hey, that was pretty cool" to "OH MY GOSH!! I DIDN'T THINK I WOULD EVER FIND ANOTHER ANIME AS COOL AS BEBOP OR KENSHIN!!!"

If you didn't see it before, I'm now on 13 of Lagann.

Yeah, pretty much this. Holy crap. <3 I think it's safe to say this is my favorite mecha anime now - previously a title held by Eureka 7, which I adore, so this is high praise.
Episode 8 was heartbreaking, well, so was 9 for most of it. But 9 also had Nia, and her absolutely amazing quote: "Are you aware of exactly who I am?" XD <3 Then 10 wrenched my heart for Viral... and 11 totally had Simon's crowning moment of awesome so far, although I'm sure he gets to do many more awesome things in the future. Soyeah. I'm even more hooked than before, if that is possible.
Chi's Sweet Home for now. I needed a break from all the long 40 ep range series I'm watching/watched (Gundam, Zeta Gundam, Gurren Lagann) and came across Chi. Not a fan of cats or anything but huzzah for a pleasant, enjoyable, and kinda relaxing little series.

Definitely. I agree with all of this, except that I haven't seen Eureka Seven and my previous favorite mecha anime was Code Geass.

I'm now on episode 19, and I have to think
That Rossiu's new personality is starting to really tick me off. Gimmy's kind of annoying now, and so far the whole show post timeskip isn't as cool as it was before..
That said, I have confidence in Sunrise, since they made this sheer awesomeness.

Episode 13:
How is it possible that I like Viral even more each time he shows up? He was already my favorite character. Now this is just getting ridiculous. xD BUT IN A GOOD WAY.

I'm also very amused by how Cytomander was completely screwed over just by Viral's vendetta against Kamina/Gurren Lagann. Poor peacock-man never had a chance.
1. My favourite episodes of Gurren Lagann are 22-27. Just sayin'.
2. Gainax (Evangelion, FLCL, Gunbuster/Diebuster, Kare Kano), not Sunrise (Gundam, Code Geass, Cowboy Bebop, Escaflowne). Interestingly enough, TTGL is the show that put Gainax back on the map after several disappointing years and it managed to accomplish this in the same year that EVA 1.0 hit theatres.
3. Eureka Seven is fantastic.

1. Alright, that's good. I was a tad worried.
2.Oops, I thought Sunrise made this. I guess I just got it mixed up with Gundam, since I just tried my first Gundam show before I started watching Gurren.
3.I guess that's next on my list then.

Umineko no Naku Koro ni episodes 8-10

Also, I'm probably the only person who actually thinks the second half of TTGL is better than the first, so I prefer episodes 17 through 21 (and 15).

I started Samurai Champloo last night. I'm currently in the middle of episode 3. It's enjoyable, not sure how high I'd rate it, but I need something to watch, and Funimation has it all up for free. =) Sadly, it's dubbed, but it'll do.

Oh! My! Gosh! Just finished episode 21 of Gurren Lagann and I can't believe I ever doubted Gainax. Just who the heck do you think I am?!

And Robin, I haven't seen it, but Samurai Champloo has Steven Blum in it, so don't talk so bad about it.

Samurai Champloo indeedly picks up later in the series, you will not regret it. Also brace for the baseball match, it's one of the best laughs I've had with an anime. Interestingly, it is up there with an episode of the other series of this director, Cowboy Bebop.

You'll definitely enjoy the last couple of episodes of TTGL Mr. Hat and Clogs.

Personally I also found the second half relatively enjoyable. Both were equally good. Also, the philosophy in TTGL is actually upbeat and optimistic unlike the depressing Evangelion.

So I've just now finished the first half of Gurren Lagann, and have yet to watch episode 17. I'm intrigued. I've been spoiled a tiny bit and I'm kinda interested to know
why everyone apparently hates timeskip!Rossiu
so... yeah. 8D

Finished Ristorante Paradiso last night. I enjoyed some of the characters, and the setting was charming, but found myself too annoyed with the main character and her vagaries for this anime to ever be a favorite of mine. :shady:

Starting Kino's Journey, and as someone who enjoys anthropology, I find it fascinating so far! Somehow, it kinda reminds me of Mushishi. Maybe it's the episodic nature of both shows, or the fact that the main characters are both travelers of a sort? Though for VERY different reasons, of course!

Also rewatching Haibane Renmei. So beautiful and gentle.

Soon to start: Cowboy Bebop (I've heard so much lavish praise that I just can't wait any longer) RahXephon, and Le Chevalier Deon.
