How do I answer this?

I was talking to someone about the Bible, and they gave me these verses:

The bible on non believers:

2 Peter 3
7 But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Exodus 22
20 He that sacrificeth unto any god, save unto the LORD only, he shall be utterly destroyed

Deuteronomy 17
3 And hath gone and served other gods, and worshipped them, either the sun, or moon, or any of the host of heaven, which I have not commanded;

Psalm 59
8 But thou, O LORD, shalt laugh at them; thou shalt have all the heathen in derision.

The bible on homosexuality

Leviticus 20
13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

The bible on children

Deuteronomy 21
18 If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, which will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and that, when they have chastened him, will not hearken unto them:
19 Then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
20 And they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21 And all the men of his city shall stone him with stones, that he die: so shalt thou put evil away from among you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.

Isaiah 14
21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.


He said the bible said that people should kill homosexuals and disobient kids or something like that and how how nonbelievers should die. I know they're talking about Judgement Day for the non-believer part and it's not the same as killing, but I don't know how to answer the other two. I don't want to say the wrong thing. I was wondering if you guys could help.

And if I've done something wrong, please don't yell at me...

Well, this is really a theological argument thread. I'll give you some responses that should be of some help, but then I'll have to close this.

Note that he can quote only from the Old Testament, with the old law. God is not merely love (as some people wish to have Him in these days) nor is He merely law. To have God, you must have both law and love.

Jesus made God's will complete, and introduced the element of love in greater quantities than before. Take what Jesus says... to love everyone. Unless your friend can give newer commands than that, his argument has very little bearing.
