Thank you for all who prayed! It was a wonderful trip and I learned a whole lot.
The trip was with Operation Mobilization and Open Air Campaigners. We were there to get training in evangelizing, do open air meetings*, and to do various community outreach projects with different churches. There were about 10-12 teams working in different churches and each team was about 5 people. The group I was with worked in a church where we did kid's clubs for Wed-Fri, and then had a Family Fun Day on Saturday, which brought in alot of new people for the church. That will hopefully see more people coming in as the church starts doing more of these fun days. It was encouraging to see believers from all over the world (it was predominantly UK people, but there was a team of Germans, a Canadian, an Australian, and another American in addition to the nine from my church) worship together the same God, and to see the various forms of worship.
I know of three people who received Christ during the course of this trip, which is just wonderful! Many more souls heard the Gospel and it's my prayer that God continues to work in their hearts, because that's one of the things I learned this past week; we have our jobs to do, but it's God's Spirit that works in people's hearts towards Him.
So, it was a jam packed week filled with learning and fun (we had an extra day in which my smaller group went to the Cadbury headquarters.....it was like a Willy Wonka movie, Disney World, and Cadbury chocolate all in one, haha).
Again, thanks for all your prayers!
*When I talk about open air meetings and evangelizing, I do not refer to the negative "street preaching", rather we tried to engage in conversations, pass out tracts, and give surveys/questionnaires that would lead into conversations to share our faith. A very stretching experience!
"To be a good listener, you must acquire a musical culture...you must be familiar with the history and development of music, you must listen...to receive music you have to open your ears and wait for the music, you must believe that it is something you need ...to listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit. A duck hears also." - Igor Stravinsky
