Just started watching Glass Fleet. It saddens me to say this, but I now realize the cause for the $10.99 price tag...
The main character is a man, Michel, but he is voiced by a women. This isn't that odd, but it's annoying with his particular character because it just doesn't WORK.
They thrust you into the story with the already assumed presumption you dislike the Empire. There is hardly any reason for this fact, as of yet, but to "enjoy" the first episode you need to have this mind set. Since I had no reason to grudge said Empire, it failed to convince me. -and yes, the hugely overdone cliche about an evil, corrupt Empire is present.
Also, they quoted Scripture freakishly close to the material source. This disturbed me greatly, (especially since it was used in a negative manner) and in the place of where it would read "God", they said "God of the Black cross"... Personally, it irritated me.
Anyway, I'm going to finish this series. I just hope it gets better before it gets worse. @-@
