Tough times ahead at Church

Postby christianfriend » Sun May 10, 2009 5:33 pm

Today my Youth Group's Pastor quit for personal reasons, and it's going to be hard to keep things going. Some of my older friends who go to the same Youth Group are stepping up as leaders for the mean time..but It's going to be tough. A couple people are taking it REALLY hard that the Pastor has quit...so If you guys could, please pray for all of us to stay strong and help each other out to keep this Youth Group together.

Thanks,
Libby

I go to the same church. Also pray that the Senior Pastor has wisdom in making the correct decisions for the future of the youth group. I am stepping up as a student-leader, and even though I want to be a youth pastor, I know that I am no where near where I need to be to make that step into leadership. But I pray that a youth pastor or adult leader will be chosen to lead us.

Thanks for the prayers

The Lord is always by your sides fellow children of Christ:) I shall say a prayer for you and your church
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

That's too bad. It's always sad when a youth pastor quits, but what you need to do now is to help your older friends keep the youth group go on strong. Of course it is hard on the younger ones, but if you guys can step up and stay there then you will be doing God a great service. Your youth group is like a house, it needs beams to support it from collapsing. The youth pastor was the main beam which took care of most things, but now that that beam is gone someone or some people have to replace it. If there is no order, then the youth group will go on and do it's own thing. Just be sure that the focus remains the same.

Some do, but that's not the point of this thread. What the OP is saying is that the Youth Pastor quit his job, not his faith.

Well, I hope everything goes alright. My church and town is so small...we have a leader of our youth group, who's almost twenty, and she's only through the summer. She goes back to school in the fall. But with our youth group, especially since it's so small, there isn't an actual position as a job...We're trying to have the group run by the youth themselves. But of course, this is because the group is small. Soooo...we don't really have this type of issue, but I pray that you and your group will have the guidance to lead the group as the Lord sees fit, and that He'll give you wisdom.
