A really scary blessing

Postby Gala » Mon May 18, 2009 2:55 pm

I just found out I'm a little over 2 months pregnant with my fiance's child...
We have been trying to get back to God starting a little over a month ago and now I'm afraid this might become a road block for us now that we have to worry about this baby.

The other thing we need prayer for is that he doesn't fully believe this child is his... his mom keeps trying to convince him that I cheated on him and it doesn't help that in the beginning of our relationship another guy told him I had slept with him when it never happened. I am 100% sure that it is his child... just pray that he sticks around to find out.

Thanks guys... also please pray for my health... it's never really been the best and now I'm worried it will affect the baby's health as well.

Thanks in advance,
Gala

First off, congratulations. Motherhood is a wonderful gift from God, so see it as a gift, and not a hinderance to your walk in faith. God has a purpose for you, and now your child. If your fiance should know that the baby is his because if you truly love one another, no talk from his mother would make him think otherwise. Rejoice, Ms Gala, because I am for you. You are in my prayers.

Guy's perspective here... I hope and pray he gets with the program quick, but sadly, fear of the unknown can send a new dad down the road of denial very quick if he isn't ready to deal with the news. You have my best wishes that he will get on an even keel soon.

Bear with him. Fatherhood is scary too. I fully admit that over the long run the mother is going to deal with far more than the father, but fatherhood has one extra element that the Devil can play all kinds of heck with. Think about this; there is never a possibility that the female is not the mother, so this is a fear/temptation/doubt/worry/whatever that women never have to struggle with.

Shame on his mother for helping to feed this doubt, especially when her grandchild's future is at stake. I'll pray for you both, and for her as well.
May the Lord bless you and keep you.
May He cause His face to shine upon you.
May He lift up His countenance and grant you peace.

Thanks for the prayers guys! He's at least agreed to stick around and help me out until the DNA test is able to be done. He said if the kid is his (which it is) he'll marry me. If it turns out otherwise.. he said we'll figure it out then. He said he wants to believe me, but there are too many things that have popped into his head or have been told to him by his family that brings too much doubt.

He's basically stopped talking to his mom until she stops trying to convince him I'm cheating.

Again, Thank you all very much.
