My friend needs prayer

Postby Sheenar » Tue May 05, 2009 9:13 pm

I belong to an online cat/dog forum. I have made some good friends there. One of my friends is a cat breeder in Japan. I just found out that one of her kittens had eaten some green onion yesterday and died today. I don't know how to respond. She feels that it's all her fault because the kitten got to the onion (onions are very toxic to cats) and that she should die since the kitten died. It just breaks my heart.
Please be in prayer for her. Her name is Valerie. She is not a believer.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves."

I had replied to her asking her not to say such things and that her life has so much value.

She replied "My life has no value. I killed a cat. I deserve to die." How do I respond to this?
This woman also recently broke her shoulder by falling off her bike.

Please be in prayer for her. Thank you.

I'd ask to pray for her if you see an open door to, not just tell her "your in my prayers" but actually do it. If you have a way of talking to her on skype etc, or literally type out the prayer if shes ok with that. Showing concern over her life on a real level I believe would definitely help. Make her understand how valuable her life is (just in general and to the kingdom of God) even if she did kill a cat (not making the cats death seem any lighter, but making her life seem brighter just because of who she is). Best of luck with this Sheenar, God Bless.
