Which superhero has the worst karma?
Let's face it, sometimes it sucks to be a superhero. Which superhero do you think has the worst life? I say Spidey.

I don't even like Daredevil, but aside from the obvious disadvantage being friggin' blind, every woman he touches either gets into a less-than-respectable industry or dies. And his movie was terrible. I mean, at least you can point and laugh at Batman and Robin.
At least Spidey got the "one more day" thing so all his problems can just DISAPPEAR.

Hmmm...I think Bruce Wayne has it pretty tough.
I mean, unlike Spidey, he has no love interest and no close people left in the world to him....all has been lost. I mean, yes he has money, but is that enough to fill the pain and void inside of him?

I think people are confusing karma with "bad luck."
Karma is the concept of cause and effect. If you do good, good will happen to you. If you do bad, bad will happen to you.
Spider-Man is a good example of karma. He did bad (not stopping a robber), and thus bad happened to him (Uncle Ben dies).
The origin of Daredevil is that he saved a man from being run over (good), but got splashed with radioactive stuff and got blinded (bad). Doesn't fall under the umbrella of karma, unless you consider his being blinded a good thing. Bruce Wayne is the same, since as far as we know he didn't do anything bad to cause his parents to get shot.
That said I'm not sure there are many other superheroes that operate on the concept of karma.

Aquaman has the worst karma because he's Aquaman.....the Wondertwins have just about as much bad karma because nobody cares about them.....well, I don't think they do.

Hmmm....you make a good point, Nate. When you take into effect the Superhero theology, basically all heroes have to go through some sort of karma or retribution...it is what makes them a hero.
Here is my question to chew on: which superhero is the perfect example of the Byronic hero.....but yet...is is possible for a hero to be a Byronic character?

Well... Batman could almost be one... he's the closest I can think of. Depends on which movie/comic book you're looking at though. In Batman and Batman Returns he's pretty close though.
Oh... Morpheus from the Sandman comics... not really a superhero though.

Yeah, I was actually thinking this thread was about that when I got in, though the Hindu concept of Karma also says people get what they deserved from PREVIOUS LIVES, so I guess if there is reincarnation in those superhero worlds, Batman may have been a relatively bad person before... I say relatively because he's still a human, not, like, a cockroach or something.
As far as who has the worst luck... What is it with superheroes that have dying girlfriends, anyhow? Dying or becoming villains... Or both... There's just this idea that superheroes can't be happy... Except Superman... And spiderman, post his first tragic relationship anyhow...

I'd say Spidey as far as the bad luck, because no matter what he does, good or bad, it always comes back to bite him in the butt.
