Who attends a regular church service?

Talk about anything in here.

How often do you go to church?

Hmmm... I never knew that protestants went to church on wednesdays. What is the wednesday service for?

I literally "never go home" because I actually live at an Abbey right now. Even when I am home, I attend Mass at least once everyday.

Every sunday since I was born (well....almost close....subtract bout 30 to 40 days)

My weekly schedule goes something like this (as my current scheduale): Sundays Church at 9 till 12, Bible Quiz Practice from 4:30 to 6 and then Youth Group to 6:30 to 8:30
Mondays we might be getting a "Youth Prayer Meeting" and Im thinking of going to that
Tuesdays is Worship Practice from 6 to 8:30
Wendsday are Guys Bible Study from 6:30 to 8:30
Thursday is Drama Practice from 6 to 8:30
Saturday is Worship and Drama Practice from 2 to

We have a huge Youth Fundraiser for the missions trip that we've been doing for a loooonnnng time where we perfrom skits and shows so thats why it seems all hectic. Once it's over, I will; have Tuesday,s Thursdays, and Satursdays all cleared up :)

So I can kinda say on Sundays I never leave, but I'm home from 12 to 4 so I'm home long enough to go on CAA, get whatever homework done, play some video games, and do my quizzing homework.

I cannot answer for anyone. Protestants generally have a great deal of variety to customize the church to its environment. I can, however, explain the function of my wednesday service.

Unlike Sunday, this service serves as much more of a social function. There is a meal, followed by classes divided by grade. The instructional content of these nights varies greatly based on the class, but the one I attend ranges from in depth Bible study to vaguely charismatic issues to service projects. Is that an adequate answer to your question?

Yes. I was just surprised how many people commented on wednesday services. It seems like some kind of trend and I was wondering where it comes from and how it started.

Woah, viking, I had no idea you were so.. dedicated to church! lol

I dont go to daily mass very often... mostly just sunday mornings. But I do go to CCD (though now it is let out for the summer) but CCD doesnt teach me that much compared with all the study I do as part of my homeschooling, and on my own (when I have questions about somthing I seek out the answer).

Huh. It's interesting to see a bit 'o history, nee? I never expected to see this come back up. It's funny, though. When I first started this thread, there were only a few people around the forums. Now...

Anyway, JS: What's CCD?

Heya ;)

I pretty much try to go to church whenever the doors are open. When I'm home during summer break, I attend my church's (Vineyard Christian Fellowship) Sunday mornings, Friday night home church/cell group (bimonthly), and first Friday healing and prophecy nights (I minister on prophetic teams), and any other special meetings (i.e. conferences, seminars, renewal meetings, etc.) While I'm out in Portland, OR, for school, I attend Sunday mornings at City Bible Church, Sunday night renewal meetings at the Westside Vineyard, and I try to get to any good conferences and renewal meetings happening elsewhere.

So, to put it plainly, I'm very much in church as often as possible. After all, that's where the real party's happening!
Peace,

Jose

Every healthy protestant church in my county that I know of has a Wednesday service, so it's definitely a trend. I cannot, however, give you any information as to how it started. In this case I would guess that there was no common origin, and that many individuals came up with similar ideas independantly.

Most wednesday services are youth services. My old church had it's youth services on friday night, three sunday standard services (two in the morning, one at night), a monday night thing for some people (I forget who and what), tuesday night corporate prayer as well as discipleship training for youth, and a wednesday service (not youth, just a normal service.)

Currently, I go on sunday mornings and wednesday nights. That's it... I think that's about all there is at the church, but I could be wrong.

I used to have church activities everyday (music practice, care group, prayer meeting, social activities). Now, I don't.

I make sure I go to Sunday services. I rarely miss it not out of obligation but due to the hunger for hope and refreshment of the soul.

The Wednesday night services at my church are a Communion service and our small-group Bible studies in the fall and spring. I tend to go to the Communion service in the summer, but usually I have schedule conflicts during the school year.

I attend Bossier City First Church of God. I go to Sunday School at 9:45 am on Sundays (which is really a joke because my teacher is always at least twenty minutes late, then she just talks about current events and happenings, then when there's like five minutes of class left, she tries to tie it in with the lesson), then to service at 10:45-about 12. We have a Youth Bible Study on Sunday nights at 6, then a short lesson and games for the youth on Wednesdays at 7. I really like how my church is (except for Sunday school). We have lots of youth activities, doing fundraisers for International Youth Convention, then going to state convention, then retreat, and summer camps.

Hi y'all's,

I personally don't like the traditional three-service strategy (Sunday morning, Sunday night, Wednesday night). Unless you're part of a smaller, tightly-knit church, that format doesn't really encourage church development into a community and family. The family and community atmosphere is fostered best through home cell groups. As a believer in cell groups and cells being the foundational units for growth and equipping in churches, I would advocate churches having a weekly celebration service (Sunday mornings), a special monthly renewal meeting (possibly 1st. Sunday night), and the rest of the weekly meetings be cell groups meeting at different times and days throughout the week.
Peace,

Jose

Go to church every Sunday, and Confirmation classes every other Tuesday.

I'm not exactly very zealous though...Jesus is my homeboy and everything, but I don't get too engrossed when I'm at mass (I'm a Catholic). If you ask me mass is just a lot of symbolism and kinda outdated. But I like my pastor and love listening to his homilies...

Confirmation class is a lot better though, since there's a lot of community between my classmates and me, considering that I've gone to school with them for four years :)

That's my two cents.
