I'm looking to add to my CD collection. I own a LOT of secular stuff, but I would like to start adding more Christian artists to my collection.

I'm looking for any good Christian hard rock/heavy metal/hardcore. Do not recommend Showbread because I already have all their stuff. :P

If you want some real metal:

Harmony

Rob Rock
Darkwater
Seventh Avenue
Slechtvalk
Jacob's Dream

There's a few others I know of but I don't like em very much so I didn't post em... but those ones above are great IMO if you're into Power/Melodic/Progressive metal...

Demon Hunter, maybe?
You can find out things about the past that you never knew. And from what you've learned, you may see some things differently in the present. You're the one that changes. Not the past.

Building off of other people's recommendations,

Staple (I have their first, self titled album. Sounds a bit like System of a Down)

Project 86 (Used to be angry hard rock. Rival Factions has a sweet 80's twist to their sound)

Living Sacrifice (Don't have any of their albums, but have listened to and would recommend In Memoriam. They play straight up metal.)

Emery (They have lots of screaming, but their music isn't very hard. "The Weak's End" has an emo flavor that isn't really half bad. "The Question" retains the screaming but adds more pop and radio friendly sounds. "I'm Only a Man" has noticeably less screaming and has a more Indie rock/emo sound. The lyrics are especially depressing on this album; it is my album of theirs so far. "While Broken Hearts Prevail" brings the band back to the sound that they had in "The Question".)

As Cities Burn (Their first album, "Son I Loved You at Your Darkest", is the only album of theirs that could be considered heavy. It is excellent, though. The lyrics are absolutely top notch.)

The Devil Wears Prada (Don't own any of their albums. They play a rather extreme and epileptic type of metalcore. I would highly recommend them to you, they have a lot in common with Showbread, musically.)

Underoath (One of my all time favorite bands. They play nu-metal/metalcore. Their albums "Lost in the Sound of Seperation" and "Define the Great Line" are my favorites.)

Blindside (Very unique hard rock. I have only own "Silence", but it is one of my favorite albums in my entire collection. Their style may not be for everybody.)

Haste The Day (I only own "Pressure the Hinges", which is nu-metal and above average. They changed vocalists for "Pressure the Hinges" and the following albums, so make sure to check out their new material if you don't like their old stuff and vice-versus.)

Becoming the Archetype (Probably my favorite metal band. They incorporate music from every genre into their metal. I only own their first cd "Terminate Damnation", but it is a perfect album. The vocals and abruptness of their music might be too much for some listeners.)

Skillet (Excellent and varied band. Their first, self titled album was grunge. "Hey You, I Love Your Soul", "Invincible", and "Alien Youth" were industrial rock albums with increasingly harder sound. "Collide" was a purely awesome hard rock album, probably my favorite of the band's work. If you get that one make sure to get the version with the extra track "Open Wounds". Their most recent album "Comatose" is softer and added more strings and pop/punk songs. About half of "Comatose" is awesome, half is not.

That is all I can think of for now.

Creed: Human Clay

Open question: Why is Creed not universally considered a Christian Rock band?

Agreed. Now I see. But so what if Stapp had a drug problem? His story is still inspirational.

Oh, I thought of some.
Oh, Sleeper- I'm not entirely sure what they're considered but he has a sweet scream.
Sever Your Ties- Their scream is somewhat similar to Oh, Sleeper's but the have more melodic vocals.

Yeah Creed isn't/wasn't considered a christian band because they explicitly said that they weren't.

The Classic Crime is (relatively) heavy, and they're music/lyrics are amazing.
The Showdown...
