What did your church do for Easter?

This year in my church my Pastor asked the Youth Group to organise thr service.

We chose the songs, we chose the scritpures. I requested of my Pastor to speak on a specific topic (which he did) and it all turned out very well.

I was leading this one (we've done a few things before and each time a different member gets to run it)


I had this killer idea for a while to do it in a way totally different from the standard traditional Easter service.

I had an idea on how to do it, I'm pretty certain it didn't originate in my head, was too good an idea for that.
Anyway the idea was that instead of speaking on the betrayal, trial crucifixion etc. That We'd show the reason WHY Christ has to die!

We did just that. We alternated between giving a scripture to playing a song and went through the scriptures on origins of sin (Genesis) to all having sinned (Romans) to forgiveness requiring blood to Jesus being our sacrifice (Hebrews). My Pastor spoke on how Christ's death and resurrection affects all of us

Not once was a scripture from Matthew, Mark, Luke or John mentioned Yet even without them the entire Easter story got told

That is kind of like what we did at my church (except our youthgroup didnt plan it). We focused on Isaih's proficy of Jesus' death in chaper 52 (or was it 53??).
Lots of singing, no bunnies. Very good. ^^

We had an easter play. ^^ I played a leper, which suits me very nicely, due to my fair complexion and my habit of lurking in corners and staring at the ceiling pondering my existance...
The only drawback, which was considerably unfair as I was not previously notified, was that I was deprived of my turtle backpack.
When I lived three-thousand miles and two time zones away from where I am now, there was a large wildfire that started just behind our neighborhood. My mom woke me up at four in the morning, and I thought I was dreaming until the wind hit my face and I saw it coming down the hill. The first thing I got was my turtle backpack, and I've rarely been without it since.

We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. i helped out with that. It was pretty fun. We didnt have a dinner afterwards. It was still fun though. We didnt have a program. Our paster preached and all. All in all, it was great.

Nothing.

We just relocated, so we're not exactly settled in yet, and add the fact that we're a small church with limited funds. So next year, maybe.

But at least my dad delivered an awesome sermon, so I think that about makes up for it.

Not to be too nosey skynes, but what city/town in Northern Ireland is your church located in? I was on a mission trip back in 1987 to a church in Sion Mills. We did some five day clubs and outdoor preaching.

Our adult choir performed a cantata entitled, "Because He Lives," which I narrated.

Our church did its usual thing for Easter. We had a carry-in dinner after the morning service, then an Easter egg hunt for the kids. My friend Nathan brought his X-Box and a bunch of us youth played DDR in our youth room (we are lucky enough to have a TV in there) after lunch! I was fun! It was the first time I'd played DDR!

Our church went down to the beach (Ester Sunrise Service) and gave a humangous service... ^_^ It's always fun~!
