Nightshade X! I'm sorry for your loss brother! I'm on my laptop every day so I'm thinking I gotta know what that feels like. Yeah you could've done stuff but thats not the point, its done and all we can do is look forward. I'm definitely gonna be praying for you but I want you to put this in your head (not because I'm saying it) "Was I to attached to my laptop?" The smallest things can hinder our relationship with God! Sometimes I think if I was married my laptop could possibly get in the way (I don't think it would but who knows...). For me personally I've really had to start to care less about my car which is hard (and my laptop, which is exceedingly hard and still haven't made to much progress =/ Horrible, if you wouldn't mind returning the favor and praying for me I'd really appreciate it too). Luckily (saying it eh half sarcastically) my Mom borrowed my car for an hour... and scratched it. When she told me my brain when blank for a second and I replied "Its just a car" (I was like =o! Did I just say that? lol). Thats the same mentality I want to have toward my laptop, so that if mines ever stolen I'd be able to forgive and forget (which right now I don't think I'd be able to do RIGHT off the top of my head like my car - even though it wasn't stolen, it had never been scratched before and I know that would have been a big deal had it happened any earlier). My dad was pry one of the best examples of this to me when everytime before he let me drive his corvette would say "Ryan, its just a car." He needed to say that to me to, he never saw me freak out, but even though I had a blast in the car I was scared that it'd get smashed sometimes, eventually I realized it was just a car but at the same time respected it because my Dad was the one who told it to me. When I did end up scratching it (which ended up being a super easy fix), I was with my girlfriend on our anniversary down in Carmel (CA), she flipped out and I was really chill. Another shocking moment in my life for me that I acted that way. I bought the AT&T Tilt awhile back, I've put hours (pry days since its been 2 or so years) into the phone, customizing it, browsing for software. Just these past couple months of God showing me things gave me this thought, hope you enjoy it.
On my phones Owner's Information (the first thing that pops up before you do anything) it says ...
[O] If found please return to owner. [O]
If stolen or there is no wish to return to the owner, that's alright. God bless and know that God is love (forgiving).
I know this isn't going to "comfort" you (maybe it will), but maybe whoever took your laptop will see your Christ-like example on it and it'll impact their life.
Hopefully I didn't ramble to much or if anything maybe distracted you =D!
Its just a worldly possession =)
You got this bro! (You and me both)
Much love and keep us posted on how things are going, new laptop etc.
