I finally watched the last few episodes of Witch Hunter Robin. Overall I enjoyed the series, even though it was a little slow at times and it took me a while to get through it. Robin is a cool female lead and Amon was what Alex (from Last Exile) should have been. I thought the ending was a little weak though.
The whole "oh noes, they (Robin and Amon) died!!!111" just didn't really cut it for me and wasn't very convincing. I know that we're supposed to believe they made it, but I would have preferred a straight forward good or sad ending instead of pointless ambiguity. The other time something similar was done when Amon was shot was a lot better and enough for one series, IMO.
I also started watching FMA. I think I got up to episode 8 and I'm going to have to resist temptation to read up about the series to find out what happens next.

The way I interpret it is that it's designed to be like the series itself--completely random events revolving around school-life. In fact, in some english translations of "Motteke! Sailor Fuku" the little conversation that the girls have before the song goes into "Pom-Pom, Open Up!" is typical schoolgirl chatter "I lost my glasses", "Wanna skip class?" etc...

Back on subject--I'm watching Death Note Episode 30.

But if you watch the very last bit, it shows pretty convincing proof that they didn't kick the bucket. I actually thought the last ep of WHR was one of the better anime endings that I've seen.

Personally, I loved the ending. I thought it was a great way to finish the series. And That Dude is quite right about the last bit.

Pretty much finished Negima!? So I heard that Negima!: Magister Negi Magi is actually set in a different continuity. Anyhow, I enjoyed SHAFT's take on Negima enough to consider going through the original manga storyline.

@That Dude: I know the ending basically reveals that they don't, but I don't know, I guess I was expecting a bit more from the ending but I can't quite place my finger on it. Maybe it's just that so much happened in the last few episodes and I will probably think better of it after a second viewing.

@ChurchPunk: See above. XD

Watched episode 9 and 11 of FMA, missed 10 but should be able to catch it a bit later.

Watched The Place Promised in Our Early Days. It's another Makoto Shinkai film and I'd been expecting it to destroy me emotionally like 5 Centimetres per Second did. I should be thankful that it didn't, otherwise I would have been useless for the rest of the night. On the other hand, it was very different and weird, what with being set in an alternate timeline and all, though the final moments did turn out a bit differently than I'd expected.

Toradora! 13.

This series.... I don't even care that much about the romantic subplot anymore, it totally makes me believe in the power of youth. (something I thought impossible after hanging out on CAA for a while)

It also makes me believe in the power of tsundere. *nosebleed*

Soul Eater!

I had avoided this one for a terribly long while, but like most BONES outings I decided to give it a go.

Really liking it so far (30 episodes in, mind you), really quite funny most of the time (disregarding a few questionable scenes mainly in the first 5 - 10 episodes), but serious when it needs to be, which I like.

I give it 5 Hadoukens, 3 Shoryukens, and one 1 Tatsumaki Senpuu Kyaku for a total of 9/10 on the Street Fighter scale.

Just finished Crest of the Stars and Banners of the Stars I, II, and III.

Finally a just-plain gooooood anime. Great story, interesting action, interesting characters, and it's sci-fi. I'd love this to be in my DVD collection someday.

Watching Honey and Clover II.

*sigh* I love most of these people, I can associate with a lot of them. But they need the Lord! Seriously. Then they could keep asking the hard questions and stop torturing their minds to figure out an answer.

But what kind of drama would that be if nobody was selfish?

mysngoeshere56 (post: 1288951) wrote:I finally decided to start Bleach.

Haha, same here. I've put it off for so long-- it just felt so calm and easygoing (and fairly bloody) compared to say Naruto when I watched a bit on YouTube. But my brother's getting into the manga and demanding we watch the anime. And I have to say... this is turning out to be more addicting than I thought.

Is that so? It just didn't look or sound that interesting to me-- kids who transforming into weapons, woohoo-- or maybe I've just let Dattebayo's Soul Eater spoof get to me. xD

BUT, it is Bones, and soooo many other people here at CAA are liking it despite its very simplistic drawing style-- I definitely want to see it now too. =)

Soul Eater's a lot of fun. The art might look simplistic initially, particularly when characters are standing still, but it works for the series especially during the action sequences.
I recommend it.

As for what I'm watching...

Le Chevalier D'Eon
This caught my eye, as I'm somewhat of a history fan. And really, watching this plays like a game of "Spot that (late 18th-century, European) historical figure." I'm still amused at seeing the bishounen version of Maximilien Robespierre. Although, this is one of those series that uses the Bible for stylistic effect, regardless of whether it makes any sense.

Also, I finished the Mobile Suit Gundam trilogy awhile ago.
