I just watched Soul Eater up to ep 31.
"Who is this?" they said to Me
'That the wind and waves obey
Come, let's hang Him on a tree
That His reign should pass away'
But here I am I say to you
Though you turn away, it is My will
To love you for forevermore
Peace be still, peace be still

After several months, the group that's subbing The Daughter of Twenty Faces is starting to release the last two episodes, 21 and 22. Of course, I was instantly reminded of how terrible it had become after episode 6.

I watched the first episode of Axis Powers Hetalia. It's kind of funny, but the episode was too short for anything to have happened. It's under five minutes, and considering maybe about a minute for the intro and credits, there's about three minutes of actual content. The problem seems to be that they've divided what little time they had into different segments, so it feels like a bunch of random things happening with no connection.

The best thing about it isn't the personalities and stereotypes of each country, but of their relationships to other countries. Not bad, and even though I thought it was too short, it makes it almost effortless to pick up and watch.

So, after like, 5 years or something of procrastinating, I finally finished Fullmetal Alchemist.

Eh. I haven't decided if it was really that awesome or not. Reading the manga first definitely spoiled me.

Some of the butchering was actually pretty interesting, but a lot of it was really lolwut.

Last Exile episodes 5-7
Legend of the Galactic Heroes episodes 7-8

After six episodes of muddling political ethics drama we get treated to one solid minute of Commander Schenkopp conquering an entire enemy space fortress armed with a fire ax. Stay classy guys.

I lost interest in Kurokami after three episodes after the meh kind of premise and the unlikeable main character. Similarly, so far Sora wo Miageru no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai, henceforth known as Munto TV, was not very interesting either, being pretty much generic fantasy. I've also picked up White Album, which I'm having a hard time getting a reading on. It's very subtle, although most people seem to know or have guessed the ending and have compared it to Kimi ga Nozomu Eien or School Days. I might just stick with it because it's only 12 episodes.

Otherwise, for new shows, I'm enjoying the heck out of Maria+Holic, Zoku Natsume Yuujinchou, Minami-ke Okaeri, and RideBack. Stuff I'm still following from last season and are heating up are Casshern Sins, Gundam 00, Toradora, and Clannad After Story. And Xam'd and Soul Eater are beginning to hit their final stretches.

The library finally gave us Steamboy, which we'd had on hold forever. And it was SO GOOD :wow!: The animation...the voice acting.... Just...wow. I am absolutely blown away. Loved it a lot more than Akira, lol XD

Hagane no Renkinjutsu-shi: Shambala wo Yuku Mono

Brotherly love fanservice, King Bradley as Fritz Lang, Nazis... this is the coolest fanfiction ever!

... o wait .___.;;;

(Also, wazzup with the anime screenwriters writing ambitious female rhymes-with-witches as the primary villain? o_O)

But actually, I think watching the movie afterwards has convinced me that the Fullmetal Alchemist perhaps deserves the "awesome" label. Maybe. Probably. I think.

Anyone else watching Clannad After Story? Anyway, because I have nowhere else to post my speculation, here's my thoughts on Clannad After Story 16 (and major spoilers for stuff that hasn't aired yet):
So Nagisa dies and we have eight episodes to fill. Will it be a BAD END or TRUE END? That's right, Nagisa dying isn't the BAD END and this is where we learn why people say that After Story isn't about her. Either way, it was necessary for her to die for us to get the rest of the After Story arcs (Naoyuki, Akio, Sanae, and Ushio; we've already gone through Yoshino's arc).

In the game, the only way to get a TRUE END is to go through a BAD END first. I was starting to worry about a BAD END based on the amount of time left, but I learned that only two arcs are really big and the other two are like Yoshino's. I am guessing that Sanae and Akio's arcs are the small ones and Ushio and Naoyuki's are the huge ones.

The other things that are jumping out at me are the light orbs and the illusionary world. In the game, in order to reach TRUE END, you have to go through the BAD END first, after which Tomoya gets a "second chance" and you go through the game again doing everything right and collecting light orbs. The idea is that the second time around, Tomoya learns about what "family" is.

Using the light orbs, you save Nagisa. Since the light orbs have been introduced by Yukine and we can see them accumulating at the episode title screen after the end of each arc, I suspect that the collecting has already been happening.

So my prediction is, we go through the rest of After Story and arrive at the BAD END, at which point, Tomoya uses the light orbs to save Nagisa and Ushio.
