I'm praying for you roadoffew. You can do this!!!

If my social life wasn't dissipating and I had some hope that any girl would be interested in me, I'd say that was good advice as well.

I think that's a great idea.

I was thinking that it was more of a general idea for everybody. I'm sorry, I should have been more clear. :red:

Maybe that's just not what God has for you right now.

Still praying for you.

hey man i am praying for you and i have been suffering from porn addiction as well...it is just too easy to fall in that temptation now-a-days.

I recommend starting to read either at the begging, or better yet one of gospels, i.e. Mathew Mark Luke or John. I have been pretty lackadaisical on reading the bible as well, but if you just read a page a day or a chapter a day or even a couple lines a day you are still reading and you feel accomplished. Just start small

I will be praying for you brother!

You think IM some kinda chick-magnet? Im one of the most hopless romantics you will EVER meet. Think about it... If you have a lust problem, why would God complicate it and give you a girl? I can tell you, but a year ago, I was about as bad as you, and had NO friends or girls around me, but once I did what I said, I began to meet more people. Can't say I honestly feel any closer to getting a girlfriend, but at the very least Iam around more people.

Spector's got a point. Freeing yourself from porn and other issues involving lust is NOT some kind of magic formula that will bring a potential girlfriend in your life. Maybe--just maybe--if you stop seeing your freedom from lust as a means to that end (getting a girlfriend), and instead see it as way to get closer to people in general, your motivation levels will start to spike.

I think a few of you missed the "lack of social life" part of my last response.

what I was trying to say was NOT that I lack those things because I have a lust problem. But I AM saying that if I saw any signs that someone (rather it be a gilfriend or just friends in general) was waiting for me on the other side, It would make it easier to use the "think of how you are hurting others" trick to help.

I haven't seen any signs of that in a long time, rather i was deep in sin or not.

I had a "Lack of a social life", and then I quit the porno and put myself out there. Getting a new job helped. I can tell you from experience that depression sorrow feeling sorry for yourself and making up for it with empty pleasures WILL make you blind to the person waiting for you on the other side. But it's only Satan with his hands over your eyes. Kick him in the crotch and move on, buddy!

UPDATE

been home with family for about 5 days now. Only had two times I look stuff up. It's been fun being with my family. Definitely helped me not feel so lonely.

I applied at the job my sister works at since I'm going to be here until somewhere around the 7th of next month. I hope I get it.

Still lacking in prayer time and bible reading though. However all the time spent with family is half to blame on that.

I kinda found this by accident, but if you have an I-phone/I-pod Touch (or similar device maybe) like me, there's an application called bible verses that each time I open it it gives me a different verse. Heck, even an app that has the complete bible at your fingertips. One of the reasons we pretty much all never read our bible is we don't want to get involved like that when we have little time etc. But with this, I can be at work on brake and just whip out my iPod and a quick verse or two, or even a whole chapter. Since then I've been reading my bible like that every day, without messing with "books"...EWW..
