Kiki's Delivery Service.
I saw it on Cartoon Network, I think.
I loved it but I didn't know the name of it or the fact that it was anime until a few monthes ago.

The first anime I watched knowingly though was Bottle Fairy (after checking the review here on CAA!)

That was probably on Toon Disney, actually, animeantics. CN didn't play Kiki's Delivery Service. Not enough action.

Yeah, but they stayed away from any Miyazaki that wasn't action packed, like Kiki or Only Yesterday.

The Month of Miyazaki was done in May of 2006, a few months after TCM did their Miyazaki film showings in January.

The movies for the Toonami's Month of Miyazaki were

Spirited Away

Princess Mononoke

Castle in the Sky

Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind

So, it had to have been Toon Disney or the Disney channel, but I know the same time that I saw it on the Disney Channel, it was over two or three years ago.

Hmm...it was more then two or three years ago, so it must've been Toon Disney, although I don't remember having the Toon Disney Channel then. But it was several years ago so that was probably it.

My first was probably Speed Racer when I was 5 or 6 and they where showing reruns on Cartoon Network. I also used to watch DBZ and another one that I can't really remember what it was or what happened, but I'm pretty sure it was an anime.... I think. >.>;;

Anyways that was well before I knew what anime was. The first anime I watched that I knew what it was, was Rurouni Kenshin when I was 14 or 15. I even remember the first episode I caught on CN, it was the one where Sanosuke went after Megumi to get her back from Takeda and has to fight Shikijo. I remember being blown away by it and was going to keep watching it, but they removed the series from CN shortly before I tryed to watch it. I would finish it a few years later, in manga form first and then the anime. I'm still disappointed that the anime got cancelled before they could do the Jinchu arc. :/ Even so, RK is still one of my favorite animes of all time.

Anyways, I followed that up with Trigun and .hack//sign, both of which are also among my favorites.

I remember seeing a commercial for InuYasha, and I said, "that looks stupid".

I believe my first anime was .hack//SIGN. I eventually started watching Rurouni Kenshin because it was on just before. Eventually I was able to see just what InuYasha was all about, and I certainly felt silly for thinking it was stupid before actually watching it.

Very first... Sailor Moon! That and Dragon Ball Z are my old favorites. One of these days, I might just do a Tuxedo mask cosplay.
