What everyone's been dying to know...

Talk about anything in here.

Are there more Californians or Texans?

Our goal: one from every continent!

Oh! Oh! I know someone from every continent Er- well excluding Antarctica and South America and Africa  Er- wait is where exactly is Guatemala? My sponsored child from CI lives there and he's muches special to me and thus a very imporant friend and better yet I really am starting to believe he and his family are saved or at least know who the Lord is. He makes many referances to God in his letters *sigh* bless that little boy's heart *continues on before remembering exactly what she wanted to say*

Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!

Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

What I'm more curious about is how many people from said states know each other. Because that would explain the heavy concentrations, if they had plenty of anime involved friends they could tell about the site. As for me, all my friends who know anime are either non-Christian, or equate anime with Pokemon, because they can't understand anything else (they're young, not stupid).

I wonder if penguins watch anime.

Well, anyway, do we have people here from every section of the U.S.?

I think we need to get one of those guestbook map signy things and have people post where they're from.
Doh! I was thinking afterwards about a map thingy that has little thumbtacks pinpointed to where everyone lives. But after re-reading what you said thats what you ment, wasn't it? I think thats a great idea.

It's a small world after all? *a song come to mind* he he.

It would be pretty cool to have a guest book like that, but good luck on finding anyone in Antartica. I think I'm getting frost bite just picturing the place. bbbrrrrr.

If and ONLY if the I-10 isn't acting up. :P

Actually, I was in Fontana on a rotation at Kaiser Permanente not too long ago. I did a number of months there when I was a itty-bitty medical student.

Funny, we Houstonians have big problems with I-10 as well. My grandma used to live a block from I-10 and she used to joke how you only have to go through three lights to get from her house in Houston to her sister's in Whittier.

i think i am the only one who is going to voluntarily admit that im from oregon...

let me clear up a few things: i dont own horses, i dont own cows, i dont own wranglers. i dont listen to country, i dont say "y'all" or "folks" i dont own forty acres nor a barn. im not a freaky liberal with dreds and the every present smell of smoke on my clothes who carries a sign that says "save the whales".

im just a normall chick who loves anime and who happens to live in oregon (save me!). i think i am one of maybe 10 people who even knows what anime is, though....

so now that i have cleared up a few typical misconceptions that come up when i say "im from oregon" , we can all move on.

oh yeah, its ore-gun not ore-gone.

i wonder if we have every state represented here?

Every state? I doubt it. That'd be tricky.

But hey, if it makes you feel better: I didn't have any of those preconception about people from Oregon. I mean, I don't believe stereotypes about other states (Texas) but I hadn't even heard of those. You're better off than you think.

I spent my high school years in a little town called Chiloquin, Oregon about 30 miles north of Klamath Falls. In fact my parents still live in Oregon. So unless things have changed drastically, it's nothing like you described.

majan, I'll do you one better: On down the road of life, I eventually plan to move out of Central Illinois. One area I've considered is the Pacific Northwest, near the coast, and yes, one of the states I would be looking into to move to would be...Oregon...
Would you recommend against that?

Your description of Oregon wasn't anything like I pictured it to be. Is there a big difference between the eastern and western parts of the state? When I picture Oregon I picture old forests and picturesque coastline and a significant amount of rainfall, but maybe I'm just confusing it with Washington...

east and west are WAY different... i live in the east. west is nice-the ocean, the green trees, the rain (even though theres lots of it)...

the east is, well... dry. very very dry. like no rain ever dry. like sahara desert plus trees dry. i have a terible oregon complex-i hate it here. eastern oregon is the hick area of the western united states and i live in the main hickville area. i was born in cali and long for the noise and bustle of big cities.

but im headed back to cali soon, so i no longer will have the "resident of oregon" tag stuck on me... yay!!

Yeah, the west is the part of Oregon I'd consider. I actually really like the rain, though not the snow, so as long as it only rains I wouldn't mind it. I don't like dry climates though, so I doubt I'd like the east.

As for the hustle and bustle of big cities, I grew up near (not in) a town of about 1,000, out in the country, graduated from eighth grade with a class of 12 (counting myself), and now live in what I consider a city, with about 110,000 people. So the rural life doesn't bother me too much. But I would like to live in a smallish city like I do now, if given the choice.

ha ha then oregon is the place for you. but let me warn you-we are the dumbest state in the world. no lie.

we're the only state that allows doctor assisted suicide, were the only state with NO limits on abortions whatsoever. our governor is democratic, our house is republican and -get this- our senate is split 15d-15r.
we have mail in voting so every election we always get dissed because our ballot counts come in almost a week after everybody elses ("we just found out that bush has, indeed won texas, but oregon is STILL counting their votes ha ha")-but then again our voter turnout blows the rest of you guys away.

the people in the east are waiting for the coming race wars (dumb rednecks) and the people in the west are trying to leagalize marijuana (dumb hippies) and then theres portland... what can you say about portland? all of em are trying to be gangbangers (yeah, were cool, we live in oregon and we have a gang! how exciting)

well, now that im done bashing my state, im going to go finish my cinamin rolls.

Mmm...cinnamon rolls...

Actually, Oregon sounds a little scarier than I thought. I was under the impression that Portland was a pretty nice city. I'll have to think twice about that move...

I'm curious about something, and I'll gladly answer a similar question for other people ...

Since we sort of got on the topic of stereotypes for states ... I'd like to know what's the first thing that pops into your head when you hear the State of Maine. *winces* now ... be brutally honest, ok?
