Pets

Postby blueraven » Sat Apr 03, 2004 4:02 pm

I'm just being curious now. I'm a huge animal lover, as long as I can remember I've always had some sort of pet. Most cats but I have had a hamster (hehe, ickle Spike ^^) as well as many fish from getting good grades on my report cards in Texas :eh: as well as two dogs.

I currently have three cats,
Tigger, 10 years old - got in Texas
Krismas, 9 years old - got in Texas (stray)
Clarance, 3 yeas old - got in Maryland

I've posted a pic of Krismas ages ago when I first joined. He's mine, well more like I'm his. Our cats "claim" their owners. Sadly, Clarance has claimed Tigger hehe. I've only gotten to name one pet of mine and that was a cat I had in Virgina Beach, I was 4 years old and named her Carrot. Needless to say my parents wont let me name anymore animals ^^; But I'm not gunna say anything about our dogs he named.

Jill, after one of the Bill's cheerleader- football
Pirate, after the Niagara Falls Pirates- old baseball team I think

Was just curious. I'd love to see if anyone has any pics of their pets. I need to find my blasted camera and cable before I can
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

two dogs, one cat. We found them all. Animals just seem to always find us. I don't think we've ever gone out and picked out an animal. Believe it or not (It's true), we were taking a walk and we found a stray parakeet which fluttered around our heads because it was hungry. We took it home and loved it as a loyal pet for many years.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I have one dog, Cloud (a male Samoyed). A few years ago I used to have over 20 hamsters, but my parents won't let me have any more.. ;_; (I've quite fond of rodents, and I especially love hamsters). I adore cats, too, but my mom's allergic to them so I'll have to wait until I move out to get one. My dog is adorable, though - I'd post a picture, but I don't have a camera yet..
But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

I have two kitties, Sneakers (my sisters) and Blackie (mine). Two birds: my mom's I think is Ding. (It's partner was Dong and it died) mine is Sorata, both parakeets. Assorted amount of fish. A hermit crab and a recently discovered mouse in the garden! Not really a pet, but hey.

The choice has been made. There's no looking back. I won't let up, back up, give up, or shut up. My focus clear. My path is straight. My God, reliable. I'm a disciple of Christ.

Gods plan is like the sun. its too big and bright to look at directly, and sometimes the rain clouds cover it, but sometimes the plan dapples through the clouds and we can see beautiful glimpses of what he has in store for us.

I have one cat named Tiger, who I have had since I was 9. She lives outside (the only cat I've owned that survived for more than a year or two).

^o^ I have one dog (a pomeranian) named Kirby, whom I affectionately call the Kharl puppy. (Dragon Knights joke - I see Kirby as clueless and oblivious as Kharl from DK. x3)

I only have dogs - 2 of them.

Fieldbred English Springer Spaniel - Gator - 10 yrs
English Setter - Janie - 1 yr

I used to have a pet snake but... she escaped and I never found her again. :sniffle:

Here are pictures. Gator's the brown and white one (I drew the picture of him, and it looks more like he did when he was a puppy than how he is now). Janie's the black and white one in the grass. (a very recent pic)

I... uh... had an ant farm once. But they all died when my dad left it on the windowsill while I was off at summer camp. Lately, we're seriously considering adopting a puppy. Fortunately, puppies make much better pets. They don't get immolated just by sitting in the sun, and I've yet to play fetch with an ant.

I have a mix breed dog named "pd gurl", long story on the name. I love that dog. I'm kinda ticked right now, because some careless renters moved in a few houses down the road, with four Pit Bulls in their background. The fence is so short, they're prone to escape.... I'm ready with my bow and hachet if those..... things enter our yard. Ain't getting near my little doggie, I'll they you that.

We had a turtle when I was about 3. We gave it away when we moved.
Quite a few goldfish over the years.
We had a dog once, but it got sick. She was a white akita.
I had a pet rat named Speedy who was an offspring of a class pet in 3rd grade. She got a tumor and died later.
I had a lamb that I raised for 4-H, but she was raised as a market lamb... Her name was Medallion.
I had a brown guinea pig with the swirls in its fur (are those called rosettes?) and her name was Sandy. We gave her away when we moved again.
We had a gray rex rabbit and her name was Satin, I think. We gave her away when we moved.
We had probably a hundred ducks over the years, but they either flew away from the pond or the local wildlife got them. :(
We had several geese as well. Those things can be mean. Same fate as the ducks.
We got two more turtles a couple years ago. We released them into the pond and my little siblings claim to see them every now and then.
We currently have two bunnies.

So, those rabbits are the only pets we have now. The turtles don't count. :P

My family got a golden retriever this spring, his name is Rielly and he obsesses with water bottles (he attacks them and chews them to pieces). We've had a mess of different kinds of pets over the years since we live in the country though everything from hamsters to horses(although the latter was more livestock than pets).

I have a lil' guinea pig by the name of Carmel. (Because his fur looks like...carmel) I wanted to name him Kakarot, ya' know, from DBZ, but my mom freaked out when I brought that up. LOL. That was hilarious, though!

I also have a dog named Elwood. We didn't name him, someone else did. yes, it's from the Blues Brothers. He even had a brother named Jake, but Jake died. The dog is an English Shepherd...I think.

I could go on forever about pets, but I'll stop here. Not that I have any more, just I luv them sooooo much. I even applied at a pet shop too. ^_^
