First ep of To Aru Majutsu no Index. Cute, amusing, intriguing, ultimately rather average... Has a sort of Bleach-like feel to it, I don't know why, but that struck me. It's interesting though. I'll probably watch the next episode when it comes out.

Watched the first episode of Code Geass. Seemed moderately interesting, I guess.

Thanks to thinking about it for the first time in ages, due to a comment on the 'underrated anime" thread, I dug up Dragon Half and watched it again. Still giggling...

We watched the second episode of Genius Party, Shanghai Dragon, in my anime class.

Pretty noteworthy piece-- takes place in Shanghai, and about half of it is actually in Chinese, and it was not released with subtitles. The 3D Chinese city rendering is pretty gorgeous, and the characters and story were charming. I think I might take a look at the rest of the series.

Well, I'm re-watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya English dub and I'm still only on the third DVD of Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles. Yeah, I'm so far behind...

I was finally able to borrow of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya from my cousin after hearing so much about it and marathoned it in 2 days. My long anime fast has ended with two marathons and it's not very good for my non-anime life, so I better slow down.

I watched it in aired/non-chronological order and really enjoyed it. The best part of the show is Kyon's commentary.

How is Gilgamesh? It looks interesting, and I love the look, but I've heard mixed reviews about it..

Last night I watched Metropolis. Very awesome, although the character designs remind me of Cyborg 009, it works.. I'm going to have to buy it at some point..

That is one of my favourite episodes and one of my favourite parts in the series. If it isn't in the manga, it is a nice touch to the story.

Finished Lucky Star vol. 3 this morning...and saw a One Piece cosplayer in episode 12. :D (Miss All-Sunday)

Oh yeah, and I watched OP 374 on...Sunday I think. Now it's crunch-time; and what a way to end an episode -_-U I understand patience builds character, but if you leave it so that something dangerous begins to happen, and then you throw a 'To Be Continued' in right at that moment, you could possibly drive the fans crazy, you know? Ah, well...all I can do is wait for Sunday then.

Matantei Loki Ragnarok.

The manga is cutesy enough to garner interest (I buy a couple volumes here and there, just because I like Kinoshita's seqart), but the anime is pretty dull. I'll watch it anyway because the op/ed are really nice.

Last watched Whisper of the Heart, finally! I loved it (as I expected to, of course). The attention to detail in the animation, drawings, and mannerisms of the characters were superb, as they always are with Studio Ghibli. I found I could relate especially well to Shizuki because I'm an amateur writer too, and I too feel like my work isn't good enough. It was very encouraging and beautiful, and now I wish I'd bought it blindly rather than checking it out of the library, because I want to watch it again! ^_^

Chocolate Underground (Complete), 13 three-minute episodes

This emotional and thought-provoking tale depicts the suffering of an oppressed nation under the rule of a neo-Fascist regime which enforces a wholesome utopian society through military force. When the passivity of adults begins to tolerate the erosion of civil liberties and basic human rights, the victimized children must cast aside fears of the vulnerability of their youth in order to take charge and restore freedom and happiness to their warped world.

AKA:1920s Prohibition + modern drugs usage + Nazi Germany. Chocolate is banned by the Good For You Party that has been elected into power and places offenders in Chocolate Concentration Camps, but a bunch of kids break the law to create modern day speakeasies to provide citizens with their sugar and caffeine fix.

...I think I have found my new favorite anime. I am only being partially facetious.
To quote a line from the show: "This is absurd!" At some points I can't even tell if the humor is intentional or not, but what I do know is that anime club ran over 30 minutes just to finish watching this and this is the only time I can remember almost everyone in the room laughing out loud several times in every episode-- despite the fact that these eps are a good 20 minutes shorter than normal.

Library War episodes 1-3
Michiko to Hatchin episode 1
Macross Frontier episodes 1-3
Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto ~Natsu no Sora~ episode 1
Soul Eater episode 5

Michiko to Hatchin has to have Watanabe behind more than just the music.

Probably dropping Soul Eater, maybe. Not a bad show, just not gripping enough to devote the next 46 episodes to.

Yeah, that's a great DVD.

Heh, actually, I haven't seen every episode; we jumped in watching all the current ones at about 354 or so, so we've been watching consistently since then.

Speaking of which, my brother and I watched 375 today. Last week's tension was resolved, and the beginning was quite happy and cheerful afterwards, but now a new tension begins. It's like they can't get a moment's peace, can they? XD
