Maxine summoned all the strength she had and worked on trying to open the trap. Even if it meant excruciating pain, she had to be free. She managed to get one of the latches down, but was having trouble with the second.

The hunter laughed. "'Part of your family'?" He repeated, mockingly. "It's an animal for goodness sake!" He said. With a sigh, he figured he would try to reason. "Look, I've been hunting this flea bag for several months now. If you just give me just this one, I will give you the rest and leave peacefully." He motioned towards the Marten in the trap. The hunter spun around to face Storm (whom I'm assuming is in his human form). "Don't threaten me, boy." The hunter growled. He turned and started gathering his empty traps, then worked on Maxine's.

When the hunter approached, she played dead, waiting for an opportunity to strike.

"I wouldn't make that kind of statement if I were you" came a voice from above the hunter's head.
"It's likely to be a bit unpleasant for you, especially when you're flanked on all sides."
Jairus dropped down directly in front of the hunter, standing over him in his human form and looking him straight in the eye with a rather menacing, vacant stare.
"Besides, I happen to like animals in their natural habitat, without metal teeth biting into their flesh."

Jairus' sudden appearance made the hunter jump back, scared. The boy was right though, he was surrounded, even if they were just kids. But were they? They seemed to be awfully fond of animals.. He could try to take them all on, but he figured it wasn't worth it. There will be other kills.. And this one ain't worth it.. he thought as he thrusted the metal trap at the boy in front of him, the one that held the martin that was dangling by her leg. Without saying anything, the hunter finished gathering his traps and left in a hurry. If they are what I think they are.. He thought, I'll have me a mighty big pay day ahead of me..

Maxine held on to a part of the trap to ease the pressure on her leg as the hunter held the trap in the air. Apparently the Anichis came to help her when they heard the gunshot. Why though, she couldn't figure out. She listened as one of the boys finally made the hunter hand the trap over that held her. She managed to see that the boy was the cat from earlier. Ah well, hopefully he's of the friendly sort. She thought. "You don't mind getting me out now, do you?" She asked in a strained voice. The pain from her current position was at the brink of being too much for her to handle.

OOC: Storm, is it alright if I make a plot against the kids with the hunter?

Jairus took the trap from the hunter, still staring him down until he was out of sight. He then turned his attention to the marten still hanging on. "You don't mind getting me out now, do you?"
Supporting her with his other strong arm, Jairus worked the jaws of death from her foot with skillfull fingers. Once she was free of the occursed metal snare, he let it drop to the ground in front of him and reached into his pocket. Bringing out a roll of gause and medical tape, he proceded to bind up the marten girl's foot and ankle with the utmost care. Grabbing a nearby stick, he splinted the wound so it would heal properly.
"There, it'll take at least a month or two to heal with time and a little physical therapy later on. In the meantime, why don't you take it easy and come back to the orphanage with us and rest." With that, Jairus started back toward the orphanage, motioning for the others to follow as he carried the marten in his arms in such a way as to not distrub the makeshift cast aroun her foot.

Maxine twitched now and then as he got the trap off of her foot and bandaged her wound. "Thanks.." She mumbled when he finished. Ah, back to the house.. Should've known it was coming.. She thought as he started walking through the forest. But maybe it won't be so bad.. "I don't really have a choice." She told him as she sighed. Even if the hunter was gone, she would have still had great difficulty managing with a broken foot. Running was what she mainly did after all. She laid her head down, waiting to get into the orphanage and eat.

Unico glanced uneasily behind his shoulder, nervous and uncertain. Sighing, he caught up with Maxine and Jairus. Running his hand through hair, Unico's thoughts were obviously elsewhere. In a drifting tone, he inquired.

"Jairus, do you think it would be folly to have some manner of security system out in the woods? Yes, yes, I know its rather a futile question, but..."

Unico's eyes fell onto Maxine in a mixture of sympathy and suspicion.

"I didn't believe a morsel of what that beastly chasseur spat. What do you think, Jairus?"

Maxine looked up when she heard the enchanting sound of a guitar. She saw a white haired girl sitting amidst the branches holding a guitar. For some reason, Maxine had a faint weary feeling about the girl that made her timid. She shifted her gaze to Jairus and nudged his hand with her nose, almost telling him with her eyes to be cautious. That girl gave her the feeling many not-so-friendly people had given her before. She figured it'd be wise to keep her mouth shut around this strange newcomer.

Jairus turned to the boy next to him as he spoke to him. "I already have one set up, hidden quite well, too. That is how I found your 'home' as it were."
Hearing the spanish greeting from above, Jairus turned in the direction of it's origion to see a hispanic beauty with thick white hair sitting in the nearby tree. Jairus smiled slightly at her in a knowing manner.
"Hola, El Cazadora Blanco. We meet again, at last." the tall puma replied in fluent spanish to the woman.
Jairus look down at the marten in his arms as she subtly signaled him to be careful and simply winked at her in response.

After hearing the proceedings between the spanish girl and Jairus. Storm saw as the girl dropped a digital clock in front of them and it was counting down from the number seven. With all of the air in his lungs Storm let out a yell/roar screaming,"RUUUNNNNNN!!!!!." And with all of his might Storm ran towards the orphanage.

Kianna heard the yell come from within the words.

She stood up and ran towards the yell, seeing a boy with several people with him. She saw him running...the exact opposite direction as she. She sensed it then. She immediately turned and ran, feeling panic and her beast rise within her.

Jairus watched as the hispanic woman pulled the clock from her pocket and let it go. He was sprinting for the orphanage before Storm even roared, knowing full well what the insidious device was. As he and Storm came in sight of the orphanage, he saw the cat-girl the other boy had been holding hands with only a few moments before still standing in place where he'd left her while another girl was running toward them. As she saw them, she, too, turned and ran for the orphanage.
"Get inside, NOW!" Jairus yelled at the cat-girl off to his left, hoping she would hear him and follow suit as they ran for the front door.

Maxine watched in horror as the girl dropped the bomb clock. In normal circumstances, she would have been running with all her might towards the orphanage, but with the predicament her leg was in, all she could do was stay in the boys arms. She curled up in a tight ball close to the boy and squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the outcome. A million thoughts raced through her mind as all of the kids fleeted towards the house, but only one was really getting through. the words 'help us'

[font="palatino Linotype"]Siobhan blinked out of her trance just in time to hear Jairus bellow at her to move.
She looked at where Unico disappeared to, bit her lip as her eyes scanned the forest, and ran towards the edge of the trees, yelling at everyone.

"UNICO!! EVERYONE!! GET INSIDE!! HURRY!!!!!"

She heard some rapid footsteps, and hoped that they were of the others.
'Please, dear Lord, let them get inside safely!'[/font]

Hidden cleverly in the bushes was a hunter, Claude, with his rifle trained on Storm. He smirked a bit as he whispered "told you not to threaten me, boy." and pulled the trigger letting an ear splitting sound echo in the surrounding area. He pulled his gun back and hid in the bush, waiting for the signal.

OOC: Uh oh! The hunter from earlier!

Ic: The clock ticked. :02.. :01.. :00... Silence.

Only the shot from the other hunter’s rifle rang out.

Bernardita laughed at the chaotic panic she had caused so easily. It was a trap, yes, but not the trap they were expecting. “¡Como animales, ellos corren en el temor!”*

She stood atop the orphanage entrance roof where all of them could see her - see her malicious smile on her face and her right hand gripped loosely around her long-ranged hunting rifle. She had earned those seven fangs on her necklace; she had earned her title. She was no simple novice. They would have to run a little faster if they were to stay alive. 'And that Claude is earning his reward as well...' she thought.

“Now you are all gathering like… los toros al carnicero.” She raised her rifle up to her eyes and aimed towards the approaching group of Anichi.


* “Like animals, they run in fear!”
* “Bulls to the butcher.”

Kianna saw the girl. She didn't know what was going on but her senses were turned on. She felt her body slip partially into the beast within her.

Don't come out!She pulled her staff out and aimed it to the girl. "Don't underestimate us, chica!' She smirked at the word. An insult to call this highly trained woman merely a child.

She could feel the power in her legs, as fangs grew from her mouth, her crescent moon necklace shined and her nails grew sharp and her body grew more muscular.

OOC: basically she only gains small attributes..if this is ok of course ^_^

She knew a human was around. If he showed up, her beast would not be contained.

She snarled at the girl, "If we are bulls then we are strong and tough. We will not be killed easily!"

With that she ran towards the girl, unaware of what she was really doing. The beast and her mind at the moment seemed intertwined and yet fighting for control. She did not master her beast.

Kianna leaped up the building landing beside the girl in a fighting stance. "I would rather fight and die then to do nothing!"

While running through the woods towards the orphanage. Storm heard an earsplitting sound of a gun being fired from some ways in the woods just behind him. He turned to look back just when he felt a sharp searing hot pain shoot through his body from his right shoulder."AHHHHH."shouted Storm in pain. Hitting the ground after being hit Storm looked up at Jairus and them who were still running towards the orphanage. While looked at them his vision started to go red,"Please help me."said Storm while clutching his shoulder. After that everything went black as Storm faded into unconsciousness.

OOC-Storm was hit in one of his arteries that is in his shoulder. Just thought that you might want to know.

Unico was finding trying to keep up with the others tiresome. That women had caused such chaos for an unknown reason... Unico decided to label her "Psychotic" and just keep running. The others were way ahead of him, just barely in sight.

When the gunshot pierced the eerie quiet of the forest, Unico dropped to the ground instantly. Don't tell me she has a gun as well! In a horrible realization, Unico allowed a mumbled curse to slip past his lips. Ahead, he saw Storm fall.

Jumping up, Unico ran towards him. Dropping to his knees beside the wounded youth, Unico looked at the wound.
"...Fantastic. Chin up, Storm. I might as well help you out..." It was then Storm started fading into unconscence. Unico leaned closer to him, screaming into his face.

"-wait! Don't go to sleep! Blast it! Now I have to carry you..." Gritting his teeth, Unico sighed as he slipped his hands underneath Storm. With a few subtle grunts and moans, he managed to lift him off the ground. One step forward, then another, Unico found it surprisingly easier to walk then he first suspected. "Alright, Storm. I think I can get us out... hold on."

Unico's pace quickened, as much as he strength would allow. Only occasionally stumbling over some roots, he managed to reach the outskirts of the forest. Unico could plainly see the others. They seemed to be transfixed with some distraction on the roof...

Jericho flew above the tree tops following the hunter to make sure he left the forest when he heard what sounded like a roar mixed with someone saying "run". He looked in the direction of the voice and took his eyes off the hunter to find everyone else running back to the orphanage. Watching everyone running jericho had failed to see the hunter hide and fire his gun at someone in the direction of the orphanage. By the time he had noticed storm had been shot.

Filled now with only rage Jericho raced and landed where the hunter was hidden, ripped the gun from his hand and threw it behind him, and grabbed the hunter by his neck with his right hand and the hunter right arm with his left all while in slight transformation.

Jericho said no words nor asked any questions, he only slowly choked the hunter while feathers appeared on the right side of his face.

Bernardita kept her gun aimed towards the rest of the group, only her black eyes moved to look at the girl who had approached her. “Idiota, that was what the last two said before they were shot.” She smirked and motioned down at her necklace.

She noticed how the girl began to alter and scowled as a flashback of herself ran through her mind. “And you can not even control yourself... See how you are a danger to humans?” She dropped her rifle and turned to face the girl with no apparent weapons. “What am I to do, facing such a terrible beast like this?”

The hunter was surprised at the sudden attack by the hawk Anichi. When he realized what was going on, he saw that the boy was holding his right arm and his throat. He drew his left hand back and stroke the boy in the face with immense power, knocking him back. He stood up, towering over the boy, and laughed. "You have no idea what you're messing with, boy." He narrowed his eyes and kicked the boy out of the way, as he made for his gun. "Best be staying out of my way before you wind up like your friend." He said with a villainous smirk.

Jericho was overwhealmed not expecting the hunter to be that strong, he sat there on his knees in the fetal position. He didn't listen, he didn't look around, he didn't even think, all he did was fell. He felt the pain and anger filling to the deepest parts of him, and for some odd reason he felt hunger, the hunger for flesh.

Jericho had no control over his body anymore, he ran and grabbed the shoulders of the hunter with the talons that were his feet and began to fly up. His body began to grow bigger, feathers replaced clothing, his arms and wings became one, and a beak became his mouth. Jericho was now a big bird about the size of a car. He carried the hunter miles into the sky above the orphanage before dropping him right where the others could see him. As soon as he hit the ground jericho landed next to him and began to feast on his entrails.

Kianna did not have time to respond when she was suddenly knocked to the ground by an animal. (I forget what type you are hana lol)

She felt her beast anger rise. "Humans...they will die," she growled quietly.

She jumped down, "Your being stupid," she turned to Siobnan, though she didn't know her name. "You think that this...human," saying the word with disgust like vomit, "you think that she does not know how to kill Anichi? That is her purpose." She didn't know why she could sense this about her, but she could.

She drew her weapon, "The only way for such beasts is to destroy them."

Starting to stir from his unconscious state. Storm noticed that he was being carried by someone. Looking down he noticed that it was the snake-man that he had just met a few minutes earlier. Going into a sudden shock Storm became fully aware of his surroundings and jumped off of the snakes back. Hitting the ground with a hard thud. Storm became dizzy and finally realized that he was bleeding alot. He was bleeding so much that he was starting to fade to unconsciousness yet again. With that final realization Storm said,"There is no way I'm going to die just from a stupid hole in my shoulder." Taking the shirt that he was wearing Storm ripped part of it off and quickly tied off the wound."OUCH, that hurts."shouted Storm in utter pain. "Why does this always happen to me."thought Storm to himself."Sorry snake dude for having you carry me. I should be able to at least make it to the orphanage by myself but I'm not sure if I can take care of this wound by myself."said Storm to the snake guy.

"Mph!" Bernardita huffed as she was tackled to the ground with a caracal atop her. She smirked and stared straight back at it. "Because, señorita... lives such as you Anichi shouldn't exist!"

She raised her left arm and threw a solid punch to the caracal’s ribs, knocking it off of her. She leapt up and back far enough to give herself time to reach into one of her pockets. “¿Osa encarar el cuchillo del cazador?â€
