Wow, I feel like a wreck...

Postby Momo-P » Sat Oct 04, 2008 11:30 pm

Started a new job, have had hardly any sleep, have various things on my mind that make me sick (which makes it hard to eat, which is extremely bad because I need to have something in me before I do go to work), I have "girl problems" that are terrible, plus they make my emotions run higher than normal and just...ugh.

I really feel like in such a mess right now. I also just feel generally distant from God, so I seriously beg and plead for strong prayers right now. I've been praying to Him myself, but I'm just so frustrated. It's like a billion things bothering me at once.

Also a big thing, I keep getting jealous and impatient. My boyfriend and I love each other very much and our parents know that and are fine with it, but certain things are going on that prevent marriage at the moment. Now...I can wait, God DOES have a reason for everything, but it's like satan is just making me feel terrible. I keep seeing people I know so happy together and it's driving me mad. A girl from my class is apparently pregnant and stuff, and what's worse, she did missionary work, so it's like "Oh. So You love her more God, that's why she's happy and I'm not..."

Now I know this isn't true. Not only do I think she got pregnant out of wedlock, but my mom even said she may not be happy she's pregnant. If anything it feels like satan is trying to make me mad at God, but really, I'm not. Sure it sucks when things don't go as you want them, but my marriage is like...the most important human based thing to me. For God to take His time with it, that's extremely good, but it's just frustrating when you're unsure exactly what He's doing with things.

I trust God, I really do...He brought us together in the first place (which was under some really weird circumstances), He's kept us together for like...six years now, and plus, there were times where my own parents couldn't work with me. Yet my boyfriend did. It's easy to bail out when you're not attached by blood, yet he stuck with me even when I got so sick I pretty much shut down and stopped living. I don't know how many guys would do that...

Right now I have so much on my mind and just really want prayers. I need to relax, I need to trust God since He works for the good of those who love Him. Things will be fine, but I need to stop letting myself get raked in to jealously and anger and I really need to get my connection with my Savior back. I know it's gonna be ok, me realizing this is proof of that, but those prayers definitely will come in handy...so thank you. And God bless.

Hey sis,

I think Satan IS distracting you. Often he'll use seemingly small things to frustrate us and keep us from focusing on what is priority. He can use illness, financial problems, relationship, and the list goes on. It is good that you are turning to God, He will help you just maybe not on your timing *smile

As for the girl who became pregnant...IF it is out of wedlock, it is possible that she IS happy or I should say content. Its not that she may be happy that she is having a baby out of wedlock (depending if the person stays with her - that will have its one consequences and anything else is between her and God) but I think she is simply accepting and content to just take the baby as a blessing.

I know your frustrated with everything. I will pray for you sis, hang in there! Pain doesn't last forever and God never wastes it.

God bless

I'll be lifting you up, my sister.

Something from the Bible that has been on my mind a lot lately is the story where Jesus and Peter walk on the water (from Matthew 14:22-33). You've probably heard the story many times... The disciples are caught on the sea late at night in a storm. Jesus appears to them, walking on the water. At first, the disciples are terrified, but Jesus tells them it is Him and not to be afraid. Peter tells Jesus, if it is truly Him, to have him come to Him on the water (probably because Peter knew that, even though he was already familiar with the boat, he'd be better off with Jesus in the storm). Jesus tells him to come, and Peter begins to walk on the water toward Jesus. But Peter's mind goes back to the storm instead of Jesus; Peter is overcome with fear and begins to sink. He calls out to Jesus to save him. Jesus reaches out His hand and saves Peter.

The awesome thing about this story is that, even when Peter got his mind off Jesus and was overcome with fear over the storm, Jesus didn't let go of him. Peter was still Jesus' disciple, and when he called to Jesus, Jesus saved him. Likewise, with these storms in your mind that you're going through, know that you are God's child. He's heard every prayer you've prayed. And He hasn't let go of you. You may not always feel God's presence with you, but He's still there. Psalm 139:7-12 tells us that there is nowhere we can go that God's presence isn't there also. Yes, Satan does try to distract us with all kinds of weights and distractions. But Hebrews 12:1-2 encourages us to lay aside those weights and run this race looking to Jesus. I believe that, at least in part, this means that we recognize that Jesus is greater than our problems and has overcome them already, and that we rely on His strength to make it through this life instead of our own.

Like I said, I'm definitely lifting you in prayer. Be encouraged, my sister.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

My best advice to you is to stop comparing your relationship with Christ with someone else's. If you get too caught up with the "Oh, he/she is closer/more spiritual than I am because of this and this and this and this" logic, you'll ultimately end up going nowhere. Sure, this girl may or may not be closer to God than you or another person is, but how are we to know? God looks deeper, into the heart, remember?

mechana2015: Does that answer your question?

K. Ayato: Perfectly.

That is very true. And will be praying Momo-P.
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
