God's plan, a friend and a job

Postby Gala » Mon Sep 22, 2008 1:52 pm

Ok guys... I have a few prayer requests and I figured I should just type them all in the same thing instead of making three new threads.

#1 I started going to CFNI which is a Bible college because I felt God's tug on my heart to get into youth ministry worldwide. I've been dealing with some serious issues with following through on the simple things while I'm here though. Things like homework, reading my bible and other things. I really need prayer for me to follow through and stop putting other things before God and what He put me here for. He's really been breaking me (kind of prayed for it when I realized how prideful I am... so I guess, it's my fault.) while I've been here and that's part of the problem: it's getting difficult to deal with some of it. I'm glad He is breaking me and that He has a great plan for my life and I know He has that plan and He's doing all this for a reason, but I just need prayer also for the strength to deal with it all.

#2 My best friend is doubting God's existence now that she started talking to her parents about church and beliefs. They don't really believe in Him, but they go to church 2 days out of the year just to follow through in tradition and want her to follow their footsteps. She's still reaching out for the truth, but I'm afraid that she will be shown the lies that are out there instead. I've been praying for her and now I'm asking you guys to help out in this.

#3 Finally, I need a job. My parents can't afford to keep paying for my school and the money flow might stop next semester so I need a job now so I can pay for my schooling. Just pray that I find the job here that God wants me to have and that I will be able to use it as a witnessing tool (one of my biggest passions) and that I will have the funds for next semester.

Thanks for praying in advance guys! God bless ya'll
Always find time in your day to rejoice for something the Lord has done for you... even if it is just the miracle of getting up every morning.

I'll definetely pray for you. I was raised Christian, and around thirteen, I stopped believing in God, and read about a lot of religions. Reading about religions, kindof studying some of them, is part of what lead me back to Christianity. Studying other religions, and finding out where they didn['t make sense, or felt wrong to me, is part of how I decided Christianity is right. Having her see the lies while searching for the truth isn't such a bad thing, it can help strengthen her faith, and maybe there'll be times in the future she starts questioning again, she can look back and use her past experience to help her come back again to Christianity. She's your best friend, she should trust you. So pray for her, but also talk to her, try to stay neutral and help her figure this out. Just try to be there for her.

I'll be praying for you. Oh, what sort of help do you want? Does she have questions about Christianity that she needs answered? I could help you with that via PM or e-mail if you'd like. Examining her faith can lead to her beliefs being stronger than ever, like Aedin said. I've studied reasons for my belief in God, and my belief is so solid there isn't a shred of doubt in my mind that God exists and that Christianity is true.

Don't despair or anything just yet. I'll be praying for those other things as well.
