Health Stuff

Postby Sheenar » Fri Sep 12, 2008 2:18 pm

Hey guys,
I have an update on some health stuff and also a prayer request in regard to all that.
I saw the doctor(who is a surgeon) that DARS is paying for me to see and he wants to do a CT scan, a colonoscopy, and an esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) --the last two are, basically, inserting a tube with a camera to look inside my digestive tract. They may also take biopsies of tissue.
We have to get these procedures approved by DARS first (to make sure that they will agree to pay for them) and then try to get them all done the same day.
Please pray that DARS will pay for it and that the doctor will be able to find out what has been causing all my abdominal pain and stomach problems. And please pray that my abdominal pain will at least get to a more comfortable level --it has flared up the past 2 1/2 weeks. This past week, I haven't been able to eat as much --like, I'll eat breakfast (a bagel or bowl of cereal) and then not be hungry again until the evening. So I'm trying to keep my nutrients up with some Instant Breakfast and Gatorade.
Thank you all so much for your prayers.

I never did like the whole "stick a tube down your throat" thing, but I'll pray that DARS pays for the procedures, that the pain will subside, and that God will provide more than enough for you!

I am still having a lot of abdominal pain --and I am starting to get frustrated. As much as it pains me, please pray for patience for me (a very dangerous thing to pray for) as I wait for treatment/tests.

Thank you.

Praise!
I got a phone call from the man at DARS and he said that the agency will pay for all my testing! He said that I can most likely call the surgeon/hospital on Monday to set everything up!

So yay!

Awesome.

Lord, I pray that the doctors, techs, and everyone involved in her care would be given what they need to make the right diagnosis, and proceed with the right treatment. Heal my sister Lord, one way or another, and give her the strength and grace to see the Kingdom work you have for her to do, even now Lord.

In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.
Our lives are but a vapor, let us not let waste our time and breath on vanities, but let us spend ourselves for the Kingdom, seeking a better resurrection.

Thank you for your prayer, Kevin!

Tentatively, I go in for all the testing on October 16. I'll find out the day before what time it'll be. I'll keep everyone updated.

Didn't want to make a new thread. I'll update here.

Tests at the hospital in 1 week. Special diet until Tuesday. Then liquid diet Tuesday and Wednesday. Yucky prep stuff Tuesday and Wednesday. Tests Thursday morning.
Praise God that He worked things out so that my aunt can be with me all day on the 16th! I'm not looking forward to the testing, but I sure am glad that she's going to be there to be with me through it all.
Please continue to be in prayer for me. I'm feeling pretty bad, but I know that God will take care of me. :)

Please also continue to pray for Jimmy. I was at Drummer's retirement party (Drummer is Jim's service dog) and Jim was having a really rough time. Pray for God's peace and comfort while he waits for a successor dog.

Thank you everyone. I will miss you these next 4 months.
