Do you know if Sidney has tested positive for Feline Leukemia in the past?
If you don't know what FLV is, it's a virus that causes cancer-like symptoms and from what I am told has no cure. There is a vaccine, but the virus is transmitted through bodily fluids so a kitten may get it from its mother's milk or if your cat hasn't been vaccinated and has gone outside, he might have gotten it. It's a very common virus among cats, but it is latent, so even if your cat tests positive they might live for a loooong time before it, if ever, manifests itself.
But honestly, my cat Riley died of Feline Leukemia, and he had the same symptoms... he just lay around all day really sick. You should probably take Sidney to the vet. :/
BTW, if you need someone to talk to about it.. I've been there.
