I'd have to agree with you I enjoy his acoustic songs though I was a little disappointed, some songs seemed to blend into another.
The lyrics was his one saving grace in this though like on his Fall EP, the song: The Moon Is a Magnet: "love is a sadness/love is a madness/we are the addicts/what are we if we're not in love" This in my mind sums up those of us who jump into love blindly like if we aren't in love than what are good for? Yet, we don't realize that love isn't just about 'loving' the fact you're in a relationship with somebody. It's about caring for that person wholeheartedly. We tend to throw our love around and not think about it at all, who it will affect, who it will hurt, even just by saying I love you. Those words are strong but they mean nothing if you have no intention of keeping them. In other words, don't say I love you unless you mean it! At least that's how I interrupt this song
His Winter EP is awesome. I loved every song I heard from it. I hope that he continues with this solo effort but only if you stays with his band Switchfoot!

I think lyrically either The Cure for Pain or Somebody's Baby are my favorites on the whole project. I know he'll stay with Switchfoot, though. This is just a side project. I'm glad he did it. I like these songs a lot. I can't wait for Spring and Summer.
