I doubt there will be a book 4, but who knows. The creators might decide to do just that.
Like something to do with Zuko finding or finding out what happened to his mother.

But the way book 3 ended, it looks like the main story is over.

The ending to Avatar was amazing! But, I'm almost a little dissapointed o.o; I wanted to know more of what happened to everyone, especially Zuko and his mother. I think a 4th book would be great, just to get a little more closure :3 I hope they end up making book 4!

They have to make a book 4...lol The Air book! I don't know, but they still have stuff to uncover so they have to make a book 4. Plus there's gonna be a live action Avatar movie I heard directed by M. Schylahan (I think that's how it's spelt)...that should be cool.

They are making a liveaction one? Lol nice. I was telling my fiance a few days ago about how awesome it would be to make a live action movie of it. He didn't agree because there is always the chance they'd ruin it somehow. But imagine how awesome the special effects would be!

Not really. They said book three was the end and personally, I'm glad it is. It's better to have a good series that ends than a good one that goes on for so long that it sucks. The creators have mentioned that they're thinking about writing other stories in the Avatar world, but not necessarily with these characters. They couldn't do much for a sequel to the series with the two very minor questions that were left unanswered. At most, they'd cover one or two episodes which isn't enough for another season. They have a lot to work with in the past, though, so they would most likely focus on previous Avatars if they were to do another series.

I've been hearing random rumours of people seeing ep 10 and 11 from book 4. I don't know, but I've heard more than one person pop up with it...

I had a dream that I found book 5 dvd's in FYE and I was really excited because I wanted to show my fiance it. XDD
I hope that if they do continue it, that they don't ruin what they already have. I prefer a show to be shorter and every episode be awesome, than have a really long series with so so episodes

There's definitely no book four, but I believe the last Comicon had a flyer that said two more movies were coming in Sep or something. Dunno what they're about, or if Nick is even letting them be made at the moment, however, if they are created? Something tells me one is obviously going to cover where Ursa is. Otherwise it seemed kind of weird how it dropped off without telling anything about that.

Also Bryke has discussed making another avatar based story, but no more Aang. Aang's story took three books and that was it.

it would be cool to see closure for Zukos story, but Agan's story is done. So I only see one off movies

Why would they leave the story off with two things that never get cleared up? That's just so mean! Why leave the series with a question? And not even one that makes you think. Just... a question. Gah!

need...closure....
idk, i was hoping aang would give his life in the avatar state, killing the firelord, and returning balance...
by ending all avatars.

zuko/katar would end up together, and the world would once again be at peace.

but, this ending wa sok too :/
but...so many q's left unanswered...

Did anyone else feel like it was kind of rushed? Like....the fight scenes were amazing, but the in between stuff seemed rushed. Like they really weren't focused on it, and were just trying to get to the action stuff. It made me kind of sad. I was expecting something better I guess. Though it was still pretty amazing.

Nah, I think that it was the best that it could have been. They made a movie that was 2 hours long and gave us 5 episodes before hand to work with. But what in between stuff? I think they did it well. We can't change what they've already done. This show has been around since 2005, so I think that it had a great run.

They may have rushed it a little, but they can't cram everything in and get a great last battle between Aang and the fire lord. Sure if they made more episodes, but I think it was well resolved.

I just kinda felt like some of the stuff was rushed. Not that I blame them. The battles totally made up for the stuff I thought was kind of rushed. ^_^

*Gravedug*

I am finishing up this series for the second time and it really holds up. If anyone has not seen this series you are really missing out. It is strongly character driven and everyone has their favorite..and its not always the same person.

This series shows what quality animation can come out of america. The animation is better then many anime I have seen in recent years, but this isn't even its strongest point. IMHO the strongest point is in the writing. Many elements and character studies are presented in Avatar and they are all done well. Heck even Momo and Appa the animal companions have their moments in the series.

The comedy is welll done and the hints dropped along the way for stories always come back later. I guess what I am trying to say is; if you are an anime fan, give this series a shot...you won't regret it.

----

For those of you who are already on board:

The next thing we can look forward to are the M. Night Shyamalan live action movies. That being said I hope the creators do much more. There are so many stories to be told still. Such as Zuko's mother, The earth king traveling the lands with his bear, the White Lotus society. Not to mention that Aang has a lot more to do as avatar. Even then many prequels can be made about previous avatars--which I think would be great.

Oh and just so I feel like I added something to this thread constructive....do you know about the Avatar Chibi Shorts?
