Mature Christians Read Only Prayer Needed

Postby Kunoichi » Fri Jul 25, 2008 7:43 am

Hey guys,

Well this is only for those that are MATURE Christians and that are not going to criticize but rather respond with the Love of christ.

July 16, 2008 Matt and I became married. We may not have gotten the legal paper from the court *couldn't afford it anyways* but we said our vows before eachother and before Christ. Committing ourselves to eachother and committing our marriage to God. Placing God in the top of our marriage.

That being said, I have no shame in the next prayer request, though I am slightly afraid.

It is possible that I am pregnant *i did remain true to abstinence until we said our vows* however, I am starting to get symptoms of being pregnant altho it could be possible that its just pre-menstraul symptoms.

I need prayer for strength no matter the outcome. we are obviously going to keep the child and have faith God will provide for the financial obstacles that will occur in the future. Please pray that we both keep strong in our faith through this ordeal *we have started to pray nightly together, praise God!*

Secondly, if anyone has resources for people that have little to no financial means for pregnancy. Any and all resources will be greatly appreciated!

we have decided to honor God with their names:

Illyana if it is a girl (meaning Greek: light, Hebrew: God has answered me)

Johnathan if it is a boy (Hebrew meaning: God has given, gift of God)

My husband's name: matt (Hebrew: God's gift)

so i am happy that we both chose to honor God with this blessing..

I guess I'm more worried about what my family will say and having the strength to bear their dissapointment.....(I know that's how they will react)

Thankyou and God bless you,

Kelly

P.S. we have already decided that if I am pregnant we will go ahead and get the court appointed marriage license, altho we were trying to save up fora a big ceremony to celebrate
I am on the forefront of battle against the demons of earth. All Praise and Glory be given to God Forever and Ever!

Will pray for you, Kelly!

If you need help to care for your baby (if you are pregnant), you can get on the WIC program --that way you get a big discount on things like formula, baby food, and diapers. Many clinics also offer low-cost immunizations. You would also qualify for Medicaid (should, anyway) --that would help tremendously with pre-natal visits as well as care for your child through his/her whole childhood. If all else fails, you could go on welfare for a while until you are more financially stable.

I hope this helps. Love you friend. :)
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

I was going to say WIC too. You could also try applying for food stamps (or whatever they call it now).

One of the most significant budget for baby care is time, and diapers :p

Is there "wash cloth" program in your area, so that you can use cloth instead of diaper? I heard there are services like that where they give you cloth, and you return them back to soiled cloth, so that they can clean it up and reuse it. It is much more environmental friendly, and cheaper.

In fact, back in the old days, who uses diapers anyway, it is only a luxury for the rich folks. I grew up using "cloth" instead of diapers, and kids using diapers tend to take longer to learn to control their bowel.

Secondly, you may want to see if there are parental programs in your area, that tell you what needed to be considered when raising kids. As for food, nothing beat breast milk, so finance shouldn't be too big a deal until solid food is needed. It isn't just about nutrition, there are many good bacteria and antibodies provided by breast milk that will help ensure your kid's survival. If you are a working lady, there is breast milk pump where you can pump out the milk beforehand, but it must be properly stored and refrigerated.

You don't always have to use the baby formula (isn't that just a marketing scheme), but you would have to be very careful what you feed the kid. In the long run, it is much better to get education regarding foods and nutrition for the kid than just buying over-the-counter baby foods.

Being a parent is a very demanding task, but it can be also very rewarding. Try to learn and be what is best (but not spoiling) for the children so that they can grew up strong. We are not perfect, but we can be the best for what we can.

Don't be too concern about gaining weight when pregnant, as it is normal. You will lose most of the fat gained by breast feeding. Also, be very careful about your diet and health. The first few weeks of the fertilized egg is the most critical time. Granted, most of the time, the egg will just die if say you had alcohol, caffeine, or is smoking (second handed) etc... What is worst is when it lived, and developed all sorts of problem. So eat healthy and stay healthy for both you and your kids, whether you have confirmed you are pregnant or not.

And as always, be a critical thinker. There are many opinions regarding parenting, so you would have to judge for yourselves.

I'm so happy for you and Matt! We know how strong truthful vows are before our Lord Jesus, and I praise God for how far you and Matt have come in your faith. Pregnant or not, I'm praying for you and your family.

It is always better be safe than sorry. Getting pregnant isn't just about money. Prenatal development (the first two weeks) is the most critical stages to the offspring, so when one isn't being careful and drink a lot of coffee/coke etc..., it can have a lasting harmful effect.

Beside, you can't tell if you are pregnant or not in the first two weeks no matter what.

Remember that you have nine months before the baby is even born. God will take care of his people and covenant children :)

Don't worry, there's nothing to criticize here anyway.

Well since you're not pregnant I dunno what to say...but I see you are struggling financially whether you're pregnant or not so I will pray that God will provide and that you and your hubby live a happy life together and whenever you do become pregnant I pray it's all in perfect timing and that you will have a healthy baby =]

God bless.

Praying so hard and sincerely for the two of you. I'm of the school of thought the whether God blesses it determines a marriage, and the secular governments paperwork, while honoring the rule of the land and should be followed as often as possible, is not the determining factor. I wish the best for you two.

I tend to agree with Doubleshadow... Your original post caused me to seriously ponder how I feel about a marriage NOT performed before a minister/notary/etc, but... while there are situations where it may be inconvenient to go through the "state" channels, they are there and we are called to obey our erathly governments, so long as they don't require us to DISobey God.

In that spirit, my best advice to you (and I say this as a woman who has BEEN there, and not with any condemnation, I hope you understand) is that if you and Matt truly long to be together in a marriage covenant, seek out any assistance that you can find to make it legal in the eyes of the state.
If you were to have been pregnant, the state would regard you as an unwed mother. And while there are instances when that can actually be of service, it would still lead to the appearance of some sort of incongruence...
Please, take care and be happy. I wish you and Matt all the best in your future together, as well as a family when the time is right!!!
