Hey howdy hey!

Postby ST. Attidude » Mon Jul 21, 2008 5:26 pm

I finally joined this site.

I was actually aware of it for quite a while and would mainly visit to read up on the reviews on Anime and Manga, so that I could see what to watch or read next.

So, props to all the reviewers out there! :thumb:Your insights have proved to be quite effective for me and have not been ashamed of what I've viewed...so far. :)

I have been interested in art for most of my life. Especially the Japanese side of it. And have even started a small comic a while back, based on the Manga styles (tho, I have not done updated it in a while, either :p).

I will get back into my comic, once I feel that I have improved on my story-telling or once I have a real plot. :lol:But of course, I will continue to design characters, so u might see a few pics of them from time to time. I hope that u will enjoy them. :)

My recent artistic engagements have been involved with painting. As of now, I am taking a landscape painting class. I have been also observing the works of Claude Monet, Albert Marquet, and (soon, hopefully :) ) Cezanne.
I have also been interested in and making some symbolic works.
(I would be showing a lot of this stuff if it were not for the file size limit! :shady:)

I have even started learning "Nihongo" (Japanese) as of last year. I'm using a self-learning program and so far, no complaints. Although, I have not been meeting my summer resolution of semi-daily learning...:hits_self But once my painting class ends this week, I will get right back on track.

The game I am currently playing is Tales of Symphonia for Gamecube (I play it on the Wii tho),
and the manga I am currently reading are Rurouni Kenshin and Fullmetal Alchemist. (I was reading One Pound Gospel from Rumiko Takahashi, but Volume 2 is hard to come by for me.)

As for anime, I was watching Fullmetal Alchemist as well. I left off at Volume 9, I think. It's been a while since I watched it. (The library system does not have any later volumes, so I should look at Netflix...)

In my academic path, I have now been attending a community college for a couple of semesters. I've decided to major in the Arts, and hopefully obtain an A.A., either in Arts (Fine) or in Multimedia-3D Animation (the A.A. decision is still a bit rusty), and even transfer to a four-year university.
Only through time and prayer, shall I see what God's plan is for me. Hopefully, it is an artistic career.

Well, for my first day here, it has definitely been fun! I hope to make friends here and be part of this community for a long time to come!

I will keep you in my prayers and I hope that you will keep me in yours.

Keep the Peace! :jump:

"Sometimes we don't present the Gospel well enough for the non-elect to reject it."
- John MacArthur

"In the total expanse of the human life, there is not a single square inch of which Christ, who alone is sovereign, does not declare, 'That is mine'."
- Abraham Kuyper

"God the great Creator of all things doth uphold, direct, dispose, and govern all creatures, actions, and things, from the greatest even to the least, by His most wise and holy providence, according to His infallible foreknowledge and the free and immutable counsel of His own will, to the praise of the glory of His wisdom, power, justice, goodness, and mercy."
- Westminister Confession of Faith (Chapter 5, Section 1)

"The wisdom of God has found a way for the love of God to deliver sinners from the wrath of God all the while upholding the righteousness of God!!"
- John Piper

"Grace is the pleasure of God to magnify the worth of God by giving sinners the right and power to delight in God without obscuring the glory of God!"
-John Piper

"The very One from Whom we need to be saved, is the One Who has saved us."
- R.C. Sproul

"All of Christian life is ceaseless worship of God the Father, through the mediatorship of God the Son, by the indwelling power of God the Spirit, doing what God commands in Scripture, not doing what God forbids in Scripture, in culturally contextualized ways, for the furtherance of the Gospel, when both gathered for adoration, and scattered for action, in joyous response to God's glorious grace."
- Mark Driscoll

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."
- Martin Luther

"I have to tell you first that I am ready to die. I have put my affairs in order. Your supreme weapon is killing. My supreme weapon is dying, because when you kill me, people all over Romania will read my books and believe on the God that I preach - even more than they do now."
- Dr. Joseph Ton, the exiled Romanian pastor (quoted by James Montgomery Boice)

"The best prayer I ever prayed had enough sin in it to condemn the whole world."
- John Bunyan

"If the Christian has lost sight of Calvary, that shows that he has lost his way."

You can actually link to pictures from an off-site source such as Photobucket without affecting the quality of the image by sizing it down for CAA's servers. XD I upload most of my art on CAA directly to this forum, linking to a site like Photobucket to actually hold the images. XD

Anyways, welcome to CAA, from a fellow artist! Enjoy your time here and let us know if you have any questions!

See you around the boards!
