Have a video game or or VG review? This is the place to to discuss it! We also accept discussions of board games and the like, but SHHH! Don't tell anyone, OK?

I love SNES. It's my second favourite system, after the Playstation..
Some games I'm currently playing:
Secret of Mana
Breath of Fire III
Final Fantasy Mystic Quest

I wish I felt more certain about the legality of SNES emulators. Do they qualify as "obsolete or not commonly available" or not? Because this is still uncertain in my mind I'm shying away from SNES emulation, but whenever it becomes more clearly legal I intend to use it (for the reason stated in this thread, namely, the massive number of quality games for the system).

Well technically, SNES emulators are shareware now, since the the games are no longer being produced. The companies who made the games would make no profit anyway.

But you must balance that with the phrase "or readily availible" which does still apply. Perhaps after a year or two I will invest in SNES emulation.
