A job, college and life

Postby Yuen Fei Lung » Tue Jul 01, 2008 7:00 pm

For quite a long time now I've been looking for a decent job. I want to be able to pay off some debts I have and return to college next year so I can finish. But... things aren't so simple for me. I was born legally blind... and while I have some vision (thank God for that--if I was completely blind my hobbies wouldn't be anime and video games, right?), finding a job I can actually do is very difficult.

What's more, even once I get my debts paid off, I'm really not sure exactly what I want to do as a career. I'm seeking out God's will on what He would have me to do; and I have a few ideas of things I could possibly do, but nothing is exactly clear. So... at the moment, I feel rather lost and frustrated.

I would appreciate your prayers for me... please pray that God would give me clear direction on what to do because right now, things for me seem pretty hazy.

I'm not God, but I have some direction. God has not made it so that you have to wander around in the dark wondering what he might have planned for you. The Bible certainly doesn't teach that, so I just want to say that even if you don't know, don't sit in anxiety and plead and pray that God will give you a specific set of directions for what you do with your life. As long as your idea is within Christian parameters, it's perfectly okay to do.

But you still have my prayers.

You definitely have mine as well, Yuen ^^

Keep on looking and try whatever comes your way :) Unless you get that feeling deep down inside that tells you that "this" isn't the right thing you should be doing :) God has many ways of telling you what he wants you to do :)

Thanks for the prayers everyone. I'm actually heading out job hunting with my brother in a few minutes.

Not a lot of luck on the job hunting... but something will come about, I have no doubt.

Hey friend

I'm legally blind in one eye altho blessfully not both *hugs hang in there

An idea for college, there are scholarships and grants out there for people who are blind (even legally so) that may help with the college bills. Just a thought ^_^

Have you tried your local WorkSource office? You should have an agency like this in your state--they should have an office nearby.
I've used the Texas WorkSource here in town and they are pretty helpful --maybe there's a similar type of thing where you live?
You can also look online. There are many job search websites and they may help you find something.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

"Since the creation of the Internet, the Earth's rotation has been fueled, primarily, by the collective spinning of English teachers in their graves."
