Drunk.

Postby Etoh*the*Greato » Tue Jun 24, 2008 1:51 am

Guys, please pray for my Fiancee and I. She went out to a club with some friends last night and ended up extremely blitzed. I'm happy she went with people I trust because of the state she was in, but I'm very angry/disappointed/annoyed with her at the moment. If something is causing her to do this (when she meets alcohol this ALWAYS happens) I would ask that you pray for that, as well as how I'm going to handle it. Have God poke me with some wisdom and guidance because right now my first inclination is to yell at her as soon as she's able to withstand it. I freaking TOLD her to only have one, but noooo. Never listen to the voice of reason. :bang: I actually kind of wonder if she specifically ignores requests from me of this nature because of the sort of rebelliousness thing.

Another smaller point. I have a job interview in the morning. First the drunk call from her at 1 and then the call from our friend she went with at 2 to tell me she was versnicket and now I'm so all three of those emotions that I can't actually sleep.

Hey bro,

I know that your fiancee may not be an alcoholic or anything but it might be where she simply can't control how much she has. If she is a Christian, you may want to actually pray with her over this because it seems to me like this is a vice for her. Just like something else may be a vice for you.

Have compassion for her brother. I know what it is like to see it happen to a loved one (not to use comparison but my own father is an alcoholic) and I know it can make you angry.

Talk with her, pray with her and try your best to not let your feelings get in the way. Show that you care about her with this. If she doesn't listen then you may need to get more stern or lay out consequences in a sense (If you get drunk we can't go on this special date or if you go to drink and don't get drunk then i'll take you out to dinner). It may seem childish but it may help her to fight herself with it also.

Father,

I pray for Etoh and his fiancee. She struggles with getting drunk and he struggles with how to talk to her before and after this happens. Father give Etoh your wisdom and strength and please open his fiancee's heart to all this. Lord I also pray taht you would help him with this job inerview.

In Jesus name I pray

Amen

Man, that's no good. Maybe you should talk to her friends and tell them to keep a better eye on her or something. This could eventually become a serious problem. :\

Thanks guys. She ended up comatose for most of the time after they got back and slept at my friend Rick's house. As soon as she was conscious she came out here to my place and crashed on my bed while I went to my interview (which, much to my surprise, went great!). The interview and finally getting to sleep allowed me to chill out and I was very calm. Didn't even bring it up, chide her, or anything. My agnostic roomy-best-friend-guy actually advised me on the most Christian thing to do, which is always funny. God often uses the non-Christians in my life to redirect me back on the path. He's (My roomy) pretty anti-people but he loves Jen like a little sister so I think he had a lot of compassion for her.

Anyway, she's still chilling on my bed and puking in to my garbage can and I suspect she'll be sick for awhile. Last time this happened she stayed off the sauce for a good year (swearing she'd never drink again. You always hear that from someone hung-over). Hopefully the lesson will stick harder this time.

Thankyou for your prayers everyone. I could really feel God moving in events this morning.

I'm glad your interview went well, Eto ^^ Give us updates on what happens ^^

As for your fiancee, just talk to her about it :) I'm sure she'll tell you all you want to know :) Try not to yell at her, because that may most likely cause her to clam up ^^

And, of course I'll pray ^^

Congrats on a good interview!! As for the fiancee... well... there could be something to your statement of her being a bit rebellious... if she sees you as trying to control her actions -- even for her own good, mind you! -- she may (subconsciously, perhaps) be trying to assert her independence... like we have all done at some point in our lives...

Talking to her about it calmly and in a caring manner will yield the best results... and never stop praying!!!
