:jump: Hi everyone! I'm Jenn. It's nice to meet you all! I've been looking around the site for a little while and I thought I would join you.... do in large part to some friendly urging by my good friend. ;)

I'm shy, I'll say that in advance. I'm sorry! :red: But~~ I love to have fun!

I've been an anime nerd for a little while now. I also love J-dorama and all sorts of Japanese music.

I've been a Christian since I was 16. I love Jesus so very much. :)

Anoooo.... let's see, I am finishing up my BA in English Literature this year. I love to travel and cook! Okay.. if you have any questions, feel free to ask! I hope to become good friends with all of you soon and to have fun together.

God bless... see you soon!

Matane! :jump:

Irasshaimase!

Dorama? My favs right now are "Densha Otoko" and "Shika Otoko Aoniyoshi". Unfortunately, I lost my source for "Aoniyoshi" when AZN went off the air.

Come in and make yourself at home!

I'm going to steal a regular greeting line from Roy Mustang, one of our other members . "Hello new member of our food supply....uh, I mean! Welcome to the board.

*Hands out Chocolate Pocky and Ramnue Soda to our new member*"

Goofing off aside, it's nice to have you hear. I'm sure you'll like this site. It's been a great experience for ME, so I'm sure it will be good for you too.

By the way, Pokemon was believed to be evil by my parents too. I am not a fan, but that was the way it was when my brother started buying the cards himself. My Mom and Dad are a bit more acquainted with anime now though, and they know better. I actually wouldn't be into it if not for my Mom.

On another note (since I'm feeling talkative) I'm shy myself. I don't show it outside as much, but in unfamiliar environments, I tend to quake on the inside. :red::red:

Note to Roy Mustang: :P

I found it on Youtube last night, didn't have any time to watch, but the first five minutes and the trailer are both intriguing. This looks like one the wife will like as well...

I'm curious. Is this title supposed to read 'Tada, I love you' (as in 'Tada' is a name) or 'Tah-Dah, I love you'? (as in the sound people make to sound like a trumpet fanfare)? I'm guessing it's the first, but the second is what I understood the first time I saw the words 'Tada Kimi wo Aishiteru'!

*gasp* I so hate typos! I definitely skipped right over the necessary comma! Grrrr. The title reads "ただ、君を愛してる" (Eric, you are rather proficient at reading/speaking/writing Japanese right?^_^) However, Tada in this case is not referring to a name. It is functioning as the word "just" in this case. So, I think the most appropriate English translation is "Just Loving You."

It's definitely a romance story, but it isn't gushy... I think your wife would probably adore it! If you like good character development which can be rare in romance!), this is a sweet film! Oh.. and on a fun side note... did you know that tah-dah, as in our English sound for audible fanfare is pronounced ジャアン "jaan" in Japanese? Often you'll hear it said several times quickly in a sing-songy way. ja-ja-jaaaaaaan!

Clears it up, thanks. I had only made a quick visit to Youtube, and only seen it in Romaji.

So, 'Just' where 'dake' is not a correct translation of 'just', is what I'm getting. I think I've seen the word before, but I guess it hasn't stuck in my vocabulary yet. Thus, I had taken this as a name from context, although it wasn't a name I'd seen before (and I guess I still haven't seen this name!)

"Jaan" I'm familiar with (it's pretty common as a sound effect in manga) I knew it wasn't likely that they meant 'tah-dah', but I just thought it was funny that this is how I read the (romaji) title at first glance.

My Japanese is not so bad, but by no means expert, I have decidedly a great deal yet to learn, especially vocabulary. And written is less advanced, at the level of very slow (armed with dictionary, kanji book, etc.) reading of manga. I haven't had the guts to tackle anything without pictures yet!

Romaji ... ugggh! haha Sometimes I think it can cause more harm than good! One of the funniest things is reading English words written in romanized katakana phonetics! Like... shotocato (obviously being shortcut). It can make one's head explode.
Still~~!~ It's wonderful that you are attempting kanji and are reading manga in Japanese! Most people get completely thrown off when they find out there are 50,000+ kanji and TWO kana systems! haha Daunting deshou!

Here's a funny, funny link... http://pepper.idge.net/japanese/ that you might enjoy as a Japanese student! I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard! XD

I found it to be utterly breathtaking, deeply profound and moving, surprisingly existential and heartwarmingly funny~~!~

YAMAPIII!! He's AMAZING, so crazy and awesome! I love how he can be all cool and serious and slightly emo in Kurosagi, and then turn around to be a completely retarded idiot (in a completely lovable way <3) in Nobuta ^_^ (Actually, I really love all the NEWS boys so XD)

What other doramas are you into? Can you make a list? (It's hard to find dorama fans on CAA ;_;) Also, are you into Johnny's? See, that would be my guess, but I dunno XD

Here's my list of watched doramas IN ORDER. {super-long list}

Yeeeeeey! Heeheee~ I'm in the middle of Honey and Clover now, then might watch the TW version and maybe Yamada Taro or some other older stuff I missed out on first time around. Ah, is the Zekkare dorama good? I heard they changed a lot of stuff (but I do like the idea of Riiko being, er, a little older and more mature). I thought the manga was OK, but some parts **** me off >_>; so I dunno. I might have to check that out.

You should watch LIAR GAME~; it feels a lot like Kurosagi in that it's a really dramatic money-centered drama... but it doesn't have YamaPi. ._. But Matsushoooo~~~~ Hrm, also One Litre of Tears? It made me cry so muchhhhh and Nishikido Ryo is awesome XD

/pimp AHAHAHA I get a little too hyper when it comes to dorama.

You'll loooooove Honey and Clover! I just adore Ikuta Toma.. my roomie jokes that he is her husband. XDDD
Have you seen the Kurosagi movie yet? I am watching it tomorrow night~~!~ Tanoshimi! I'm can't wait!
