The name's Tone. Ichi-Tone. *cue dramatic spy music*

Geek. Otaku. Long-time Christian who gets lost from time to time, but always seems to find his way back. Lover of giant robot mecha, things that rhyme with Metal Gear/Konami/Hideo Kojima, passionate about gaming in its every form (which means I'm old school AND new school at the same time!), usually prefer the "manga" to the "anime", and soon-to-be fiance' of NekoChan_C...also a member of CAA and my equal in every aspect. Aishiteru ze, Baby!

Where does my name come from? My real first name is Anthony, but no one calls me that except for my mother...and only when I'm about to receive a smackdown. ^_^;

For years I went by Megamx4 (big Mega Man fan) on the internet, followed by MegaTone on Xbox Live, then SuperTone on MySpace...but then I very luckily met NekoChan_C, and since both of us are HUGE Bleach fans and she considers herself one of many "Rukia's seeking her Ichigo"....we both agreed on IchiTone (she calls me Ichi....*melt*) as my new name.

I'm hoping to establish myself here and make some really good friends. Spoony, where are ya?! I know you welcomed me here already, but show me some love in case no one else says hello.

Current anime I'm watching: Shin Getter Robo VS Neo Getter Robo
Some favorites: The entire Mazinger universe, Hokuto no Ken/Fist of the North Star, Space Battleship Yamato, Bleach, Naruto, One Piece, Death Note, Flame of Recca, Battle Royale, Vampire Hunter D, GaoGaiGar, Godannar, the Robot Romance Trilogy, Kare Kano/His & Her Circumstances, and as a purely guilty, mindless pleasure that I hate to even admit to....Dragonball Z. *waits for the pelting to ensue*

So, does CAA have room for one more vict...er, member? :poke:

Whoaaa, you like Mazinger stuff and GaoGaiGar? People like you are rare on this forum. XD My fiance and I are big mecha fans, him moreso than me, but I'm getting there. :D

Also, the Romance trilogy...crap, I can't remember which series those are. I want to say it includes Voltes V...? Or is it the one with Macross and Orguss? I'm a bad mecha fan. >_>

Hey, I like Dragonball Z. I haven't seen any of it in like four years, but I plan on buying the season boxsets one day and re-watching it. I used to be a huge fan back in the glory days of Toonami. XD

Anyway, that's a cool story behind your screenname. There's no cool story behind mine; I just made it up because it sounded good. XP

Hope you enjoy your time here, and good luck to you and NekoChan_C. :3

That's great considering the exact same thing is happening with Neko-chan. In fact, "Big O" was the reason she got into anime in the first place. I sat her down to watch all of Mazinger Z, some Getter Robo and a dash of GaoGaiGar (at Otakon)....and that was all she wrote. Since then she LOVES the stuff, and just knowing I caused that passion sent a "Rocket Punch"(tm) straight to my heart. ]Also, the Romance trilogy...crap, I can't remember which series those are. I want to say it includes Voltes V...? Or is it the one with Macross and Orguss? I'm a bad mecha fan. >_>
No, no! You had it right the first time. It all started with Combattler V, then Voltes V, and ended with Daimos. Give yourself a little credit....hardly anyone I know would've even come close to making an accurate guess. :thumb:

Ah, Toonami. So many memories. Yes, actually I already own the first two season box sets of the High Def boxes they've put out. They come highly recommended...I've seen this series in many formats and in varying degrees of quality, but if you want the definitive, as "uncensored-and-complete-as-you're-gonna-get" DVD's of DBZ, these are the way to go!

ShiroiHikari (post: 1236181) wrote:Anyway, that's a cool story behind your screenname. There's no cool story behind mine]

But that's how it always starts out. I had at least 10 different nicknames before eventually settling on IchiTone. It fits me. And if yours fits? Stay with it. ;)

Hey Ichitone! I really like your choice in anime. Is that Phoenix Wright I see as your avatar? I also really enjoy the Ace Attorney game series(Can you guess who's my avatar, well unfortunately my sig gives it away.). And your not alone because I too enjoy the Dragon Ball series(You could say it was my first actual anime.). Bleach is awesome too. Well Im glad that you decided to sign up to CAA, and I really hope you have a great time here!

Yes sir, that is indeed ol' Phoenix. Best game series out there right now, IMHO. I just finished up Apollo Justice and am chomping at the bit for the next in the series.

Ahh...another Mega Man fan! Yes indeed, old school MM is where it's at. I can still fly right through MM2 with my eyes closed...and actually do so on a regular basis. :thumb:

I do think it is the best DS game series out there. Have you played Trace Memory or Hotel Dusk:Room 215 on the DS? Because those are also really great games.

No, I've been apprehensive about buying them because I'm afraid they won't be quite as good. If an Ace Attorney fan recommends them, though...then that's something I can't object to! I'll definitely give them a try, thanks a mil.

Well, I would say TM has some hard puzzles here and there while HD's are a little less(But the can be challenging.). But all in all story wise they are both really good. They will take some time too. These are mystery adventure games so it may take a while to get what you need to continue the story. Also HD is like a book, you turn the DS sideways and all the animations are black and white like someone drew them. TM can be a bit tedious as HD can(HD is in the last part of the game.), but it's also good.

I do suggest you try both of them out, they not only pass time but are entertaining. There are many DS games out there that have a good story and game play, so you better pick these two up.

Phoenix Wright! Heck yes! I just finished the third game a couple of hours ago. All I can say is...wow!
The part where you get to play as Edgeworth? EPIC WIN!
Ohhh, I was on the right track with Voltes V. That's good to know. XD I forgot that Daimos was a part of that. Speaking of Voltes V, I started watching it but then got distracted by other shiny things. I need to get back to it.

And yes, it's always fantastic to meet other mecha fans. Most of the time it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack, haha. I'm still pretty new to liking mecha, so there are a lot of series I know of but haven't seen. It's hard to find the time, especially now that we are working on a little (or rather, big) project involving Daitarn 3...>_> Also, MGS4 came along and ate my fiance, so that makes it hard too. XD

Oh, that reminds me...do you play Super Robot Wars? I wish I could play them, but I don't have enough Japanese yet. D'oh!

Wow! Another Mega Man fan, finally! I can't seem to find other people who like Mega Man. Though it's probably because not many people talk about it cuz the old stuff is what's the best. Although I did enjoy the battle system in the Battle Network series. But anyways welcome to the forum I know you'll have a lot of fun here.

Isn't it, though?! I never saw it coming, and they even flipped all of his animations around! It was a sweet moment for Ace Attorney fans. :thumb:

*sigh* MGS4....when shall I attain thee? Also, LOL@"ate my fiance"...

Super Robot Taisen? Sure! I've got one or two of the games floating around on my computer (emulated) and translated into english at that. I'm personally going to make it my mission to eventually collect and own them all...even with my Japanese being severly limited as it is! Such is my passion. :)

You know what? I've been giving Megaman Battle Network an honest try, and it's really not bad! I suck terribly at it, as it takes some getting used to the battle system, but it's about as close to a Mega Man RPG as I'm going to get to play....and I loves me some RPG action.

I like how in the 4th game...
in the last case how you could switch between both time frames and how all the three case preceding it were somehow related.
And yes in the third game I did enjoy..
controling Edgeworth.
Its rumored that in the fifth game you might be able to do it again, but Im not sure. And it's just a rumor. I wonder what kind of pre-order bonus will come with it, but that's assuming we even get a fifth game(It is said to be in the works though.).

No, not particularly, though she does express to me that she feels I've "saved her life" in many ways...being a good father figure to her children (Did I mention he's a budding 8 year old otaku and knows the Mazinger Z theme song by heart? I love that boy...), helping her become a better mom ("No, baby...we need that money for groceries. Seasons 1-50 of Inuyasha can wait!"), and being man enough to admit when I've been a hollow-headed baka in order for there to be peace between us (like wanting to sell most of my personal belongings to afford MGS4 *cry of lamentation*). Bankai or no...she feels I've got the strength to be her one and only, and I'm deeply honored. :P

Alright, enough gushing and bad Bleach puns. Thanks all for the hearty welcome, and I look forward to future posts & rants filled with witty banter and obscure-but-otherwise-completely-useless anime knowledge. Oh, how I'm going to fit RIGHT in...^_~

Hey Spoony! Yeah, it's clearing up mostly, but not without a knock-down, drag-out fight. At this point the only symptoms left are some congestion and a slight cough that simply will not loosen up. I'm figuring it'll be just like it was with your dad...and take several weeks before I'm completely over it. But hey, thanks for the concern and prayers. Like a certain cheetah mascot used to say, "It's not easy being queasy...." or something like that. :thumb:

And so you did. :) You were my hero, my Ichigo... from the very first... Even when we had let each other down so harshly... you then became my catalyst for change... There were so many things that I needed to evaluate and rework in my life... and only from knowing you, loving you and nearly losing you was I able to give all of that over to God and ask for His will in my life...

Not only me, either... Mimi-chan and Maikuru have loved you as well... <3 I sincerely look forward to the day when we can be together and never part, given to each other before God and man (and while decked out in the most awesome of awesomely awesome anime-themed wedding finery, to boot!)...

aw, enough with the mushy stuff!
