Getting Rid Of Wisdom...

Postby yukoxholic » Fri May 30, 2008 3:53 pm

I know this is a little early but I wanted to post a prayer request for a friend of mine (so I don't forget too!). She's having her wisdom teeth out on June 9th and she's having a lot of anxiety over it. I know it's a procedure that happens all the time but she's never had any major or minor operations before which is basically why she's having a lot of fear about this. I'm just asking for anyone who would be willing to offer a prayer up for her especially on June 9th. That everything goes well and she heals quickly. It would be greatly appreciated. :)

Praying.
Some of my favorite scriptures.

Psalm91
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation;
There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.

Hebrews 4-4
1Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left us of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it.
2For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.
3For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.
4For he spake in a certain place of the seventh day on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works.

James 4
Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

Revelation 22:14
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

I've had mine removed almost 4 years ago. Can be a bit scary, but your friend will be okay. I'll be praying.

Thanks everyone! Ever since I told her I started a prayer thread for her she's been a little less on edge knowing there's a whole flock of Internet people sending up their prayers! I as well as she really appreciates it. ^__^

Ah, wisdom teeth...I'll be praying.

Don't forget to tell her to not bend over or suck on things, and please recommend that she try eating pureed ramen noodles while she's recovering...they're delicious! BUT, please also warn her that they have to cool first, or else the blender will explode o_o

Yeah, we kind of learned the hard way, a-heh...^_^U

But when I first saw the topic name, I was thinking, "Getting rid of WISDOM? But why? Most people want that sort of thing...why do you no longer wish to be wise?" And then I read the first post. XD

Thanks! I'll pass that information onto her as well as your prayer! ^__^ Sorry, to hear your noodles blew up in your face. O__O I'll make sure to tell her to wait until it's cooled ramen before pureeing!

For some reason I like posting titles that'll catch someone's eye so that's about as clever as I could get! XD

The operation is no big deal because I got mine taken about a year ago. You must tell her to sleep the first few days after the operation, she shouldn't try to stay awake unless that is to eat food. And she must eat nothing but soft foods. She should have some chessy masked potatoes, they were great when I had my wisdom teeth taken out. Pudding, Jello, Apple sauce, and Italian Ice are also good as snacks. Another meal option is soup.

I didn't try it, but I do suppose that ramen(As Asian Blossom said) would be good as well.

And also she must keep the gauze in her mouth to prevent excessive bleeding. But this is just for the first day, although if need be, she should keep in the second day.

And last she can remove the stiches in about a week or more.

I survived on pudding, applesauce, and top ramen. I didn't have to puree the ramen. Just wait for the broth to cool enough so that the heat doesn't aggravate the area where they removed the teeth, and then use your front teeth against your tongue to chop it up. I know it sounds weird, but it helped me out a lot, especially 'cause my left cheek muscle got tightened so bad it hurt to open my mouth wide.

It went as well as it could've gone! She was a bit apprehensive about being put under but everything seemed to go smoothly. It took a little longer than expected though but she is doing just fine now. Well, as fine as being someone with no wisdom teeth, with ice packs stuck to your face could be! She's mostly just in a lot of pain. :( Hopefully, after a few more days pass it'll dull and feel much better.

Glad to hear she's doing well! ^_^

And, well...the ramen didn't explode in my face. The lid basically popped off when my mom turned on the blender and some of the ramen splashed out. A little messy, but at least we learned how NOT to prepare pureed ramen. XD
