I actually have unsubstantiated yet somewhat plausible theories on that. XD
It very well may be the case that Jin ISN'T dead, but is still stuck on the Island with the rest of the Losties. Upon further examination, his tombstone dates "Sept. 22, 2004" as the date of his death. Since that's the date the plane crashed, it's possible that Jin's death is part of the "Oceanic Six" story, and he's really still alive on the Island.

Problems arise there, too, though, when you look into the wormhole theory for the show. This theory states that the Island is connected to the "real world" by a wormhole, and since wormholes can only be kept open by constant bursts of electromagnetic activity, this explains the reason why the Button had to be pushed every 108 minutes. Supposedly, the Failsafe Key that Desmond used at the end of Season 2 released a substantially larger burst of electromagnetic activity to the wormhole so that it would stay open for a prolonged period of time, but once that time is up and it closes, it's possible that the Island is gone for good, along with everyone on it. This explains the urgent need to "get back" to the Island expressed by Jack at the end of Season 3, Charlie in the first episode, Michael Abaddon (the tall, black man), etc. Knowing this, Sun may be mourning what could become the true death of her husband, rather than his death as told by Oceanic.
Information in the above spoiler from this article. There are spoilers in the article, so unless you're up to date on the show, read with care. XD

I can't decide if tonight's episode was satisfying or not.

Lots of stuff we already. But the stuff we didn't know was . . . interesting. It was interesting . . . but not much more.

Trust? No way!

HE truly believes he's "one of the good guys". Which is the mark of a good villain. But his actions show something completely different.

He tells lies to make you trust him and then gets you to do what he wants.

He's turned into a great villain.
Absolutely true. I don't trust anything that Ben says, at least, not to a full extent, and I believe that it was Ben's full intention to have Carl and Rousseau killed off last night, in order to separate them from Alex. I also think that, while Ben claims he is not a murderer himself, that is, he doesn't kill anyone who may be innocent, he DOES manipulate others to simply do the work for him, and indirectly has them killed. Goodwin, Ana Lucia, and Rousseau and Carl are all prime examples of this.

I thought last night's episode was fantastic. The bit about Michael not being able to kill himself because the Island wouldn't let him was pretty insane. XD Naturally, the episode felt a little sped up, as the writers had to crunch some things to get everything in, but I was glad we got all of the answers as to why Michael was working for Ben. Also, Sayid FTW.
More thoughts later, maybe, when I have more time. XD
Yeah. Everything that has happened has happened according to Ben's plan, I think. He's a very frustrating character for me. But everything that has happened, whether it's been part of his plan or not, he's been able to spin into something that's in his favor. And with that Sayid "flash forward" . . . it looks like things are getting worse, not better.

Well, better for BEN . . .
It's sad to admit, but I just watched the 1st 4 episodes of the 1st season last night --I've seen a few episodes further on, but hadn't started at the beginning --I must say that so far I've learned that every detail is important to remember--I'm just wondering how many more times I have to see the plane crash...
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18

Oh, please keep watching! XD If there's one thing about Lost that's kept me watching, it IS all of the little details and the attention to those details and characters that keeps the show so fascinating. If you stick with it until this current season four and try not to get any spoilers, you won't be disappointed!

My family and I have had this Thursday marked on the calendar since the last new episode they aired. XD We're definitely looking forward to the rest of this season. XD

HOLY.

CRAP.
This show NEVER ceases to amaze me. MY GOSH. THEY KILLED ALEX. AND THEY KILLED NADIA. AAHH.

Ben is seriously the most complex character ever. In the span of an episode, I went from thinking, "wow, he's kind of cool" to "AGH I HATE HIM" to feeling sorry for him when his plan backfired and Alex was shot, to hating him again once he planned to kill Penny. And when did he become this Jason Bourne-esque assassin? XD Regardless, HOLY CRAP. Season four has been nothing short of epic. I love this show. XD

Of course Jacob exists. That's not what blew my mind in this past episode. Christian Shepherd, Richard and Abaddon showing up in Locke's life prior to his experiences on the Island, further exploration of the time differences between the Island and the world outside, etc. were all excellent parts of the episode (though I think my favorite scene might have been Ben and Hurley sharing a Snickers bar XD). I actually have my suspicions that Richard and Abaddon ARE Jacob, as I believe Jacob can shapeshift. I can't quite figure out why Richard was disappointed with John's choice in the knife in the child testing he tried on him, but that's all the more reason I'm stuck watching this incredible show. XD I've been so impressed with season 4]
LOCKE WAS IN THE COFFIN?? HOLY CRAP. I HAD NO IDEA THAT WAS EVEN AN OPTION. THIS WAS THE BEST SEASON FINALE EVER. XDD

Highlights:

Sayid/Richard vs. Keamy.
Ben. Lots and lots of Ben, that sociopathic freak.
Jin's death.
Desmond and Penny reunited HOLY CRAP I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING BUT I NEARLY DIED WHEN IT HAPPENED. XD
LOCKE IN THE COFFIN. ZOMG.

I have theories regarding some of this. I just can't think straight right now because my mind just EXPLODED.
That being said, I snagged this screencap from the trailer. I wonder what it means?

YAAAAAY GRAVEDIG. #2.

So!! Lost Season 5 started today, for most of us! And I wanna know what everyone thought! My thoughts in a (very) short summary:
The woman with white hair from season three and from the end of the episode is totally Faraday's mom. At least, I think it is. XD I think she's measuring where the island goes in time.

Also, this is actually my roommate's theory, but it's really good so I'll post it here too. We think the Oceanic 6 are like the Island's constant, since it's sporadically moving through time. They have to go back to the Island because it needs them on it to keep itself from "dying" (like Minkowski did and like Desmond would've, had it not been for Penny). I think it's a pretty solid theory!
Anyways! Thoughts?

I think I now understand why Richard never seems to age....ever.

I wonder if they'll be an episode dedicated to why he uses eye liner a la the episode that explained Jake's tatoos.

Anyways, Season 5 is amazing so far.
One of my friends used to love Lost, but stopped midway through Season 3.

Here's a funny conversation excerpt:

Me- Dude, get back into Lost. Season 5 is excellent so far.
Dave- No way, dude. I was sick of getting strung along.
Me- No really. An insane plot twist just occurred. You gotta watch it!
Dave- Let me guess...
OMG!
It's not an island....
IT'S A FIRETRUCK!!!!!!!!!!

Dude seriously! I feel bad for people who stopped in season 1 or 3, 'cause once the middle of season 3 hit, Lost started getting even more amazing than usual. 'Course, that makes sense, since it was right around the middle of season 3 that they put a cap on Lost and said they'd stop officially at season 6. So for the next two seasons, we're going to be getting a LOT of questions answered. XD It's gonna be awesome. XD

This thread has more censorship than a UFO document from the government!
"To be a good listener, you must acquire a musical culture...you must be familiar with the history and development of music, you must listen...to receive music you have to open your ears and wait for the music, you must believe that it is something you need ...to listen is an effort, and just to hear has no merit. A duck hears also." - Igor Stravinsky
