I think it's interesting to note how the Uchiha are the only ones who can control the Kyuubi, which therefore gives Sasuke control over Naruto to some extent. I'm sensing some sort of balance thing at work here where they'll both end up needing each other in some way to exist.

My, another chapter comprised almost entirely of exposition. I'm impressed. The question is: How much of what Madara said is true? I find it hard to believe the brother just turned over his eyes, among other things.

I hope that it is a mixture of lies and truth (but a subtle one).

I agree with MasterDias about the Kyuubi's attack being under Madara's orders (control).
It's nice to hear about Konoha's beginings.

There is an unsatisfying irony in Itachi having been a tragic hero all along. This isn't because I do not like the character, I do, it's just that all the sappy Itachi fangirls can now say, "I told you so".

Assuming everything Madara said is true, Sasuke is going to be a bigger head case then ever after this. I wonder how this will effects his planes to restore the clan. I also take it that we will be seeing Danzo again. This also makes me wonder if Tsunade knows all of this since she was absent from Konoha during those events.

I would guess Tsunade knows by now since she has access to all sorts of secret documents and all that.

If what Madara is saying is true (and that's what Kishimoto seems to be saying), then we're definitely in for some more Sasuke angst. Now, I'm kind of looking forward to the next time Naruto and Sasuke meet.

So it looks like we're about to change gears here. Sasuke has been "enlightened." Now we wait to see what he'll do next. Maybe we'll start seeing the main character again.

Wow....Sasuke forms a new team and it includes Madara. Here comes the Eagle team! Sasuke has found his next goal: Destroy his ex-village Konoha. A showdown between him and Naruto is definitely inevitable.

....OK, we kinda knew that Naruto and him would have to fight but it wasn't as clear before since Sasuke was only after Itachi then. Now he has a real reason to log heads directly with Naruto and Co.

I haven't commented here before, but this last chapter left me with something to say.

So now Sasuke is bent on Konoha's destruction. I can't help but wonder if the new Sharingan is any indication of some sort of manipulation by Madara, who, if nothing else, has taken advantage of a severely emotionally unstable Sasuke.

I find the level that Itachi manipulated people and situations toward his end goal kind of incredible, and can't help but wonder if we haven't seen the last of said manipulations. The big question I had is just what Itachi did/said/showed to Naruto in their brief meeting before the Uchiha showdown. Itachi did remove Orochimaru's remaining control over Sasuke, set up Ameratsu (sp?) to defend him from Madara, etc. so I am curious as to whether or not he also set up a back-up plan to stop Sasuke, if he did fall under Madara's control, via Naruto.

I feel like Madara is manipulating Sasuke and using him to exact his own revenge on Konoha. I would guess there are some records or something that the Hokage would have access to that describe what really happened. Given that Madara is now in the group, my guess is that he'll be reminding Sasuke of what Konoha did in order to fuel his anger.

This is certainly setting up a Naruto versus Sasuke final battle, but what about Pain? I hope this becomes a complex conflict instead of taking an easy route.

Have we seen Madara's eyes yet? But yes, Sasuke's are different. I assumed it was just a natural variation, as the upgraded Sharingan seem to be fairly different.

I'll be interested in seeing just what is up with Sasuke's eyes. If you look at the image of Madara on the last page, it looks like he probably has 4+ tomoes, instead of the standard 3 that most adult Uchiha have. As far as I remember, we haven't seen Madara's eyes in action.

It's been so long since that scene between Itachi and Naruto that I nearly forgot about it. So now Naruto has some sort of super Uchiha power too? Oy...

My major complaint on the last few chapters, though.....we completely skip anything having to do with Suigetsu v. Kisame with Team Hawk just fast-forwarding to Sasuke and then we completely skip any more interaction with the Konoha team in the woods and have Naruto suddenly back in his room. It would be nice to have some bridging...

I too was rather disappointed in the lack of information about Suigetsu vs Kisame and the Konoha teams left in the woods.
Suigetsu looked fine, but didn't appear to have a second sword, which would have happened, presumably, if he had defeated Kisame.

I'm hoping next week's chapter does some filling in, as there are several loose ties.

So many people have had theories about the "Power" Itachi gave naruto.

Either a) it's a way to completely control kyuubi

or b) it's something that is able to repel/get around sharingan.

Still interesting, though, I'm glad itachi is a good guy.

The art seems so lazy these days. :/ Then again, I've been feeding my eyes with 20th Century Boys for the past week or so, XD.

Anyway, Madara/Tobi really does have a secret evil plan. Sasuke will find out about it and fight him eventually. It may even happen during this next battle, which would mean Sasuke would almost be fighting for Konoha again. Almost (secretly hoping that a Naruto-Sasuke tag team will happen in the end).

I'm not so sure I like this development. If Pain goes along with Akatsuki (his status as leader is in question) then we have our big villains together against the protagonist and suddenly everything becomes simple again. I wouldn't approve of that.

On the other hand, it's vaguely cool that Madra was the Mizukage. If so, that would make sense why Zabuza's coup failed - I can hope that arc will be shown to be at least somewhat connected to things.

The recent gaps in the narrative have been so gaping it's starting to look like a fishnet. I feel that the manga-ka is trying to hurry along after so much slow paced back story and I would prefer he not go blasting through new revelations so fast.

I think he wants to hurry up and get to the good part. >_> If he hadn't have spent the past 20 weeks on Sasuke maybe he would remember the plot.

This chapter was kind of sad. Seeing Tsunade cry was a bit interesting.

I think it's coming close to the end. The battle with Pain will have the revenge factor, but of course the comes after this Sasuke thing. I still think a Naruto-Sasuke tag team at the end would be awesome.

Tsunade is such a great character; how many manga give a fifty year old women such depth and strength?

I'm not sure I liked how Naruto's grieving was handled. I'm glad that it was sadness and mourning rather than angst, but it was rather brief. Hopefully, it will be touched on again to show how long it is taking him to heal.

I really think Kishimoto is sick of everything and is now rushing to get to the finish, XD.
